Accomplishments• Crate & Palletize hardware for shipment to Hawaii• Pennsylvania Air Force Reserve C130 stopped at

Wisconsin, KSC on Friday 1/22/10 to pick up hardware

• C130 stopped at JSC to pick up hardware on 1/23/10• C130 Departs for Hawaii, expected arrival 1/25/10• Cost of hardware shipment was a tour of KSC for the

flight crew. No cost for NASA for transportation.• Cultural sensitivities addressed (Hawaiian consider

the volcano sacred) by having a local Hawaiian “Priest” conduct a ceremonial blessing of the test site.

• While this may seem silly to mainlanders, the Hawaiians take this very seriously

Issues/Concerns/Resolutions• Weather or Maintenance issues could delay hardware

arrival in Hawaii• No problems so far, but until the plane touches

down in Hilo there is always some element of risk

Plans for Tomorrow• Aircraft off loaded• Local transportation company loads and transports

hardware to the mountain.• Canadians provide trucks to move hardware from

mountain staging area down to the test site
