Royal College of Surgeons of England The annual meeting of fellows and members will be held at 2.30 P.M. on Wednesday, Dec. 10. A symposium on teaching postgraduate surgery will be held from 9.30 A.M. to 1 P.M. on the same day, and at 4.30 P.M. Mr Ronald Raven will give a Bradshaw lecture entitled Oncology-Attainment and Antici- pation. Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh A conference on recent advances in medicine will be held on Dec. 2 and 3 at the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh, 9 Queen Street, EH2 IJQ, and on Dec. 4 and 5 a symposium on infections and infestations will be held at the College for the St. Andrew's Day festival. Inquiry into Preventive Medicine The Social Services and Employment Sub-Committee of the House of Commons Expenditure Committee (chairman, Mrs Renee Short) is embarking on an inquiry into preventive medi- cine, and would be glad to have the views of interested individ- uals and organisations. Submissions, in as brief a form as pos- sible, should be sent to the Clerk of the Sub-Committee, Social Services and Employment Sub-Committee, House of Com- mons, London SWl. British Association for Psychopharmacology The next scientific meeting will be held on Nov. 6 at the Royal Society of Medicine, London. Individual papers will be presented on behavioural, experimental, and clinical aspects of psychopharmacology, and Prof. R. G. Grenell (Baltimore) will speak on membranes, molecules, and memory. Children's Hospital, Sheffield The Children's Hospital, Sheffield, will celebrate its 100th anniversary next year, and will be holding scientific meetings in the week July 3-9.
