The most commonly spoken language is Hindi

The main religions of India are Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism and Sikhism.

The Culture of India India is a very diverse country with

each district having different cultures…

Some main celebrations are… Diwali- a five day celebration that

represents the start of a new year. Genesh Chaturthi- an eleven day

festival that honors their god. Holi- a two day festival that

celebrates victory over evil. India also has some dances such

as Bharatanatyam, Kathakali, and Kathak.

hole is dug in the ground and the ingredients, placed in a clay pot, are put in the hole then covered with mud and burning charcoals

This process of cooking takes about six hours to complete

UNIQUE COOKING METHODS Dum Dum literally means to steam. It

is a method of cooking on a very low flame, with the ingredients inside a dough which then placed in a pot with the steam entrapped in the sealed container.

This method of cooking allows for all of the flavors of the ingredients to come out.

THE FOOD PATTERNS OF INDIA A typical Indian will eat two full meals a

day with substantial snacking in between.

buttermilk, sugarcane juice, fruit juice and soda.

All courses of the meal are placed on the table at the same time
