V. MIXING PROCEDURES:

A. Place a clean empty five (5) gallon pail on a solid surface. Open the gallon can of epoxy, Part A and the quart can of hardener, part B. First, pour all of part B into an empty five (5) gallon pail. Then pour all of part (A) into the same 5 gallon pail. Make sure all of the part A and B are poured from their cans to ensure product consistency and curing uniformity. B. Commence mixing for a minimum of one and one half (1 ½) minutes. Prior to adding aggregate a dust mask should be worn. Slowly add aggregate (part C) to epoxy and hardener mixture. Do not add all the aggregate at once. Allow to mix for a minimum of two (2) minutes after all aggregate has been added. Move the mixing blade from side to side to insure total blending. The mix should reach a very wet look which indicates it is properly blended. NOTE: At temperatures below 70°F, add an additional 30 seconds mixing time to both A & B mixing steps. VI. APPLICATION:

Deck installation

A. Pour mixed product approximately six (6) inches from the wall or bulkhead and approximately one (1) foot wide. A kit poured directly out will spread on its own close to eighteen (18) inches wide and ten (10) feet in length. Pour out all material from pail to increase working time. NOTE: Do not scrape any residual material from pail.

B. Using a finishing trowel, place the material by spreading it heavily against the wall or bulkhead, wrapping stanchions, making good contact with the material to all exposed surfaces to insure water tight surface. A smaller bull-nose trowel may be used around drains, piping or other protrusions. C. Once material has been placed, use a cement finishing trowel and with medium pressure, start at the wall or bulkhead, and pull material toward you with slow easy pressure to flatten the product and finish material in to its designed even thickness. Repeat until the product looks consistently uniform. Leave a straight vertical edge at the end of the kit to make seaming the next kit easier to achieve. NOTE: Do not feather edges of the product out. A kit will cover approximately 25 to 30 square feet at 1/8” to 3/16” thickness.

D. After product has been placed and troweled to an even consistency at a designed thickness of 1/8” to 3/16”, lighten up and hold the trowel at an angle and comb over the top of the material very lightly. This will flatten any stones that may still be high as well as supply more resin to the surface to seal off the system properly. The easy passes with the trowel will pull the resin to the top much the same way water will do on a cement application. NOTE: Insure that the direction of these finishing strokes is consistent across the entire floor area.
