About InDACON - 2020

Today more than 783 million people lack access to fresh water across the globe. With the looming threat to

climate change, growing population in urban areas, increasing pace of industrialization, the access to freshwater will further widen in near and far-future. This requires an integrated approach for augmenting the available water resources, creating new sources of freshwater, besides the direct interventions on

reduce-recover-recycle of water. Technologies alone don’t provide solutions for the social needs, but technological systems having compatibility with the environmental, socio-economic and innovative solutions in line with community needs may offer sustainable models. These technological solutions may

be powered by renewable energy sources for conservation, treatment, purification, and desalination. InDA and Indus University jointly with the leading professional associations and industries from India and

abroad, propose to hold an international conference during 13-15 February 2020 at Ahmedabad to share the recent advances, analyze the future challenges, and evolve a synergistic approach towards fulfilling the needs of Water and Energy.

About Indian Desalination Association (InDA)

InDA was established in the year 1991 with the main goal for the development and promotion of the

appropriate use of desalination and water treatment technologies. Being a neutral association without any commercial bias, InDA is active in spreading awareness and providing an interface for enhanced interaction amongst the stakeholders namely the user sectors, industries, academicians, policy makers and

program implementation agencies. InDA is an affiliate of International Desalination Association (IDA) as well as Asia Pacific Desalination Association (APDA) for policy advocacy and adopting world best practices. Each year InDA conduct’s an international conference to enhance the skills as well to interact

with small & medium industries to enable them to mitigate the problems related to wastewater & water management in addition to pollution control.

About NIT Uttarakhand

National Institute of Technology, Uttarakhand (NIT-UK) is one of the 31 National Institutes of

Technologies in the country. Since its inception, this Institute has grown many fields and has established itself as one of the best Technical Educational Institutes. NIT-UK is established in 2009 under the Act of Parliament by Ministry of Human Resource Development. At present, the Institute has about 1006

undergraduates, 112 postgraduates and 15 Ph.D. scholars. The Institute offers full time B. Tech. and M.Tech. Under-graduate students are selected through JEE & DASA and Post-graduate students are

selected through CCMT. The Institute also offers Ph.D. program in various streams of Engineering, Science and Humanities. NIT-UK is also involved in numerous R&D activities funded through various government and private agencies.

Technical Information

The international conference will consist of plenary sessions, keynote addresses from eminent

professionals, and regular oral and poster presentations as original contributions. All the submitted papers shall be peer-reviewed before acceptance. Pre-conference proceedings containing abstracts and

submitted papers shall be published and distributed to all the registered delegates to enable in depth discussions. A special volume on post-conference proceedings will be published by Springer-Nature as SCI, Scopus

and Web-of-science indexed papers. Prizes would be awarded to the selected poster and oral presenters depending on the innovativeness, approach and content after due assessment by experts. There are two best paper awards under student category as lead author.

Call for Abstracts and Papers

InDACON2020 invites full length research or technical papers related to the conference theme from

interested authors across the globe. Instructions for the submission of abstract are given on the web page https://Indacon2020.indusuni.ac.in. Papers will undergo blind reviews before a decision is made. Authors

are encouraged to submit their original contributions through indacon2020@indusuni.ac.in email. Papers so selected are published by Springer Nature, the full-length paper submission guidelines are presented on website.

Pre-Conference Tutorial/ Training

A two days pre-conference hands-on training session with leading industries has been planned during 12-13 February-2020 for providing current knowledge in desalination and water treatment technologies. The participation is limited to 30-seats and will be allotted on first-come-first-get basis after payment of Rs.2000

registration fee (consumables, course materials, working lunches and high-tea during 2-days).
