FOREWORD BY YAM TAN SRI DATO’ SERI SYED ANWAR JAMALULLAIL
CHANCELLOR, SEGi UNIVERSITY
It is a great pleasure and honour to welcome you to the International Conference on Industry 4.0: A Global Revolution in Business, Technology & Productivity at SEGi University on 14th to 16th October 2019.
Although this is the first conference being organised by SEGi University on Industry 4.0, SEGi has been on this road preparing ourselves and our students towards IR4.0 for quite some time.
The Industry Revolution 4.0 has not only transformed industries and businesses, but also changed the higher education system worldwide, as its impact changes the needs of students, expectations of society, skills requirements of employers, and rapidly drives technology to evolve.
SEGi University has been producing industry-relevant graduates, and in view of the current Industry 4.0 revolution, we continue to update programmes offered to our students and collaborate with industry leaders to ensure our academics and students are Industry 4.0 ready. We are committed to adopting a global benchmark in producing world-class students and academics who can constantly evolve and raise the Malaysian economy to the next level.
We are organising this international conference and exhibition on Industry 4.0 with the aim of bringing together stakeholders, government agencies, businesses, professionals and experts from all over the world to meet and share their experiences, products, and services to roll out IR4.0 more effectively in Malaysia.
We hope it will be a platform where awareness about Industry 4.0 is raised and higher efficiency for businesses and organisations is created; vision of collaborative possibilities and benefits within the Industry 4.0 framework are further enhanced; challenges of implementing Industry 4.0 for both manufacturing and service-based sectors are addressed; practical case studies are presented and process automation and smart products are showcased.
Thank you for being a part of this conference. I hope we will succeed in cultivating an interest in Industry 4.0 and be part of this revolution.
