•Establish a peak international CIED activity with rotating chair

– Provide leaders with an ongoing platform for strategic cooperation

• Understand the CIED/CT nexus to enable military and law enforcement cooperation

– Launch Project Teal

» Establish sub-projects and explore concepts for regional CIED Centres of Excellence

Theme: The CIED and CT Nexus

International Counter IED Leaders’ Forum

Invitations extended to INTERPOL member

countries for inaugural event

Each nation requested to provide a delegation consisting of:

•Counter Terrorism Ambassador or senior Foreign Affairs official

– The Commissioner of the national police or representative

• Senior military officer responsible for the nations CIED effort

Audience:

International Counter IED Leaders’ Forum

Outcomes

A network to defeat networks

The means to coordinate international effort to defeat IED use

•Ideally:

– national, regional and international cooperation

• An ongoing program of work for the future

– Increased global security and a reduction in IED use, development and technology transfer within warfare and criminal activity
