NC State University is a comprehensive university known for its leadership in education, research and economic development, and is globally recognized for its science, technology, engineering and mathematics strengths.

NORTH CAROLINA STATE UNIVERSITY

NC State has over 100 bachelor degree programs, plus a variety of master’s and doctoral programs, including a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine, if you decide to take your education to the next level. With an expansive campus, and countless social and cultural opportunities, NC State has all the advantages of a big university with a small community feel. NC State offers focused coursework with the opportunity to work across disciplines.

The university is consistently ranked among the United States’ top 50 public universities and ranked by The Princeton Review and Kiplinger’s as a best value, a ranking that combines academic quality and cost. While the student population is large, faculty and staff are accessible, friendly and helpful; large classes are paired with smaller discussion sections or labs.

One of the things that separates NC State from other universities is its commitment to getting students involved in real-world research right away. Beginning their freshman year, students start working in their major — whether it is conducting research alongside faculty or starting a challenging internship. And “research” isn’t limited to just science here. Students in technology, business and the arts also work with mentors and earn college credit. Engineering machines to administer pharmaceutical drugs to patients, engaging in corporate policy making or studying how to preserve natural resources within national parks are just a few recent examples of projects our undergraduates have taken on.
