FAQsHOW DO I APPLY?

Apply online before Feb. 1, 2018. You can access the application form at http://bit.ly/2018Internals or at scholarships.parklandcollege.sk.ca.

WHEN IS THE APPLICATION DEADLINE?

Applications must be received by 8:00 a.m. CST on Feb. 1, 2018.

HOW MANY SCHOLARSHIPS CAN I APPLY FOR?You can apply for a maximum of three (3) scholarships. The Scholarship Committee reserves the right to limit the number of scholarships awarded per person. The Scholarship Committee reserves the right to move an application to a different scholarship, if appropriate. Award availability is subject to change.

DO I NEED TO SUBMIT AN INTERIM STATEMENT OF MARKS ORPAWS/UR SELF-SERVICE PRINT-OUT FOR EVERY AWARD I APPLY FOR?

No, we require only one copy of your grades to this point in the 2017-2018 academic year.

NOTE: We require your Social Insurance Number for income tax purposes. If you are selected for an award, it is considered to be a source of income.

WHAT IS AN INTERIM STATEMENT OF MARKS?Most awards require a copy of your grades to this point in the academic year to help us calculate academic merit.

For students enrolled in Skills Training (SaskPolytech) or Adult Basic Education programs, an Interim Statement of Marks is a form completed by your instructor that states your progress in your program. Please ask your instructor to fill out this form and submit it to the scholarship committee by 8:00 a.m. CST on Feb. 1, 2018.

If you are a university student, you may submit a print-out or copy of your 2017-2018 grades from your University of Saskatchewan PAWS account or University of Regina UR Self-Service account.

FAQsWHAT IS A LETTER OF REFERENCE?

If required for your application, a letter of reference should be provided by someone (other than family) who has known you for at least a year. It should include their relationship to you and the length of time they have known you. The letter should include comments on your character, outstanding accomplishments, community involvement, etc. Please make sure that your name and program are clearly marked.

Letters may be emailed to [email protected] or dropped off in a package with your transcripts, interim statement of marks, and/or letter of rationale at your nearest college campus (ATTN: Jenna Niebergall, Scholarship Committee).

WHAT IS A LETTER OF RATIONALE?A letter of rationale is a written statement that gives you the opportunity to explain to the Scholarship Committee why you are the best candidate for the award. The letter of rationale is extremely important as it is the core information looked at when making selections.

• Your letter of rationale should be short and concise (300 words or less).

• Letters should be composed in Microsoft Word (or similar program) and submitted by email to [email protected] or dropped off in a package with your transcripts, interim statement of marks, and/or letter(s) of reference at your nearest college campus.

• Letters of rationale may also be submitted through the online application.

• Scholarships determined by academic merit will use the letter of rationale in the unlikely event of a tie.

NOTE: Criteria for the letters of rationale may change slightly for each scholarship, so please check carefully when applying.
