Internal and external influences on
skin health and skin ageing
ABOUT THE INTERNATIONAL SKINCARE CONFERENCE
The theme of the 2-day conference is the ‘Internal and external influences on skin health and skin ageing’. There will be up to 18 internationally renowned dermatologists, scientists, and technologists presenting and discussing the latest thinking and advances in skin care and skin health. We will discuss the good and the bad of sun exposure and achieving the balance for good health including the need for Vitamin D production in healthy skin. Environmental challenges from pollution and UV and other radiation can cause premature ageing of the skin and protection and avoidance strategies are important. Performance effectiveness and assessment of protective and functional skin care products and importance of the maintenance of the skin microbiome will be discussed along with the latest technologies in maintaining and treating healthy and damaged skin.
The conference programme is organised by Jack Ferguson, Skinnovation Ltd
Sessions include:
1) Healthy and ageing skin
2) Importance of skin microbiome, environment and protection to skin health
3) Formulating functional skin care for healthy younger looking skin
4) Performance testing, product claims, consumer expectations and regulatory challenges

“There is so much more happening in the world of sun/UV/anti-ageing than I realised, sitting in my little cubbyhole doing my work. It was an
amazing experience to see the people doing this first-hand, meeting people from all over the world and learning not just how to make my
product innovation better, but also how to protect myself better from the sun.”
“I travelled to the Singapore specifically to attend the conference. Being in product development, it is important for me to keep up with new
trends and regulations in the industry. In particular, I found the conference session on global regulations very helpful to my work as I was able to
gain insights into the regulatory demands, both in Asia and other parts of the world.”

“I attended the conference back in 2014 and was very impressed by what I saw and heard, which is why I came back for the second
instalment this year. I particularly appreciated the diversity in topics and speakers; there’s a good mix of global and Asia-specific content.
It’s good that the organiser chose not to focus solely on the Asia market, as trends in Asia impact the global personal care market, and vice
versa. I definitely plan to return for the next edition.”
“A very professionally run event that provided good insights into a regional perspective on sun and skin care for the largest population
centre in the world. A broad range of topics that provided something for every attendee.”
