Sign-in and lights-out times are tiered by class rank
WHAT ABOUT THE INTERNET?
Internet access in the residence halls is restricted from 12am-6am to create a positive environment for sleep and wellness.
CAN YOU HAVE A CAR?
An application to have a car on campus can be obtained through the Dean’s office. This is typically only approved when a student must use their car for travel home or audition travel. Student keys are stored by residence life when the car is not in use. Any use of student automobiles must be approved by a parent/guardian and the Dean's office.
CAN YOU GO OFF CAMPUS?
We have an excellent relationship with the Bay Area Transportation Authority, which provides affordable transportation to downtown Traverse City and the Grand Traverse Mall. Students can also walk to the local coffee shop and other nearby businesses when weather allows. Parents and Guardians have an opportunity to give or withhold permission for these outings via a permission form, which can be changed at any time.

● 1200 acre campus with over 400 buildings used for Academy and Summer Camp program
● Emergency Communication systems in place
● One main monitored gate during the school year; visitors sign-in and out
● Conduct state-mandated drills and safety inspections throughout the year
● Interlochen safety coordinates with local law enforcement○ Host local trainings,
familiarize local law officials with campus
● Coordinate all student travel to and from campus with Residence Life team
