A MESSAGE FROM THE GM:
SAFETY STATEMENT At IHE, SAFETY is the fundamental belief that shapes our company’s culture and philosophy. We emphasize it at every stage of the training that we provide. As such, safety has become our
primary focus in our interactions with our students, employees, partners and visitors alike, and has become the hallmark of our industry recognized training programs, all resulting in one thing:
Safe and High Caliber Graduates!
What a change the last half of the year is shaping up to be versus the beginning... Most business sectors have adjusted now to world place economics and oil prices, and are greater positioned to ride out any contractions and expansions. IHE itself is seeing an increase in stu-dents again and an increase in operators securing work as the demand for skilled heavy equip-ment operators continues.
We love to hear back from our Alumni and their ‘Just Hired’ Success Stories as it reminds us why we work so hard every week to ensure others are enabled to change their lives. Many recent operator graduates have been successful at securing employment in construction, mining, roadbuilding, forestry, and a few in oil and gas, too!
IHE’s main goal has always been, and will always be to meet industry’s needs. In order to continue to meet all needs we are in a position to now offer competency training testing, for those experienced operators requiring proof and/or certification! Certifying Experienced Operators to aid Industry to meet safety standards with certifi-cation and for operators to meet employer’s needs, is a win-win.
IHE is proud to offer Topcon 3D Machine Control Training, too! Fully aware that industry needs access to opera-tors that know how to use this new technology outfitted on their machines, we’ve worked with Brandt Tractor to en-sure our machines are readily available for all to learn on. Contact our office to learn how to setup and operate with 3D machine grading technology, and become even SMOOTHER OPERATORS, not to mention even MORE EMPLOYABLE.
Summer time is already half-way gone and I hope that you are all making time to enjoy it no matter what part of this beautiful country you’re living in! COMPETENCY TRAINING - CERTIFYING EXPERIENCE

A MESSAGE FROM HEAD OFFICE OPERATIONS:
Multiple industry partners over the last year have encouraged us to start offering competency training, and certifying of experienced operators services. Though not a regular core course component in our HEO training programs, we did realize through conversations with key players, that this is a verifiable need to be met.
Competency training programs will run monthly, on Saturdays, at IHE training sites (as demand dictates) beginning Aug 15th in AB and Aug 22nd in BC. Certification takes approximately three hours to complete and class size maximums are 9 persons/day. Applicants will be assessed on pre and post-operating procedures, safety, and machine/task completion skills.
Operators must satisfactorily pass ALL elements to receive their machine certification certificate. Operators can become certified on up to two machines per day, (Excavators, Graders, Loaders, Dozers, Rubber Tire Backhouse, Articulated Rock Truck), per $800 per certification.
Companies requiring multiple certifications receive a discount. If you prefer this training to occur your own site versus our training site, this could be arranged as well by contacting one of our Project Managers at head office.
Along with Competency Training, don’t forget that accessing the Federal Job Grant monies available is a really great way to strategize developing a trained and diversified work force as possible – by sending employees for on-going training and machine development courses subsidized!!
