i am a third year interior design student at miami university in ohio. i love photography, sketching & drawing, and experiment-ing with different materials when making models. my most interesting projects have been an urban center in florence, italy, a hotel / spa, and currently, a coffee table for a furniture design course (currently in progress of being built). i am driven by the challenge to be as eco - friendly and sustainable as possible when designing, and my style tends to feel upbeat, modern, and linear. i love working in sketchup, photoshop and illustrator, and i also utilize autocad and formz. my goals for the fu-ture include a focus on com-mercial and retail design, as well as product & furniture design.

[ design objective ]novoli, tuscany, is a neighboring area to

florence. this changing and growing community is home to an abandoned

fiat car plant. rejuvination of the area is brought to the surface through the

design of an urban center.

[ concept ]novoli is in a state of rebirth. views to the

site carry new perspectives for change and growth, the concept of connections helps focus the design on reaching out to grasp

new potential.

[ about the project ] new and old construction surround the site bringing together people of all back-

grounds. the five floors open provide needs for the variety of visitors. the entry

level courtyard creates public & private space; a gallery welcomes the public on

the first floor; a cafe and restaurant on the second; mind and body spaces for meeting rooms and yoga is on the third, and finally an open roof top terrace. a glass enclosed spine supports the ground all the way up to the roof level to better one’s expericen

of the center and the area.

[ design objective ]a series of phases of compositions, bas reliefs, & color studies limited only by the imagination create an alternative design to concept generation.

[ concept ]the use of abstract thinking skills in developing compositions reached the point of creating a small store front space. compositions of layering & synthesizing were used.

[ about the project ] the many interlocking and layering shapes conveyed a space ideal for a gallery. an inspiring photograph sparked the idea for a handbag gallery storefront. the project explores branding techniques and understanding of color study.
