ABOUTmeMy name is Emily Owens and I will be graduating from Purdue University with a degree in Interior Design and Architecture in May of 2011.

I am an alum of Delta Zeta Xi Omega Sorority Chapter.

I come from a small town in Indiana called Elkhart where my family still lives today.

This physician’s office is in Logansport, Indiana. We were asked to go to the site, take measurements, and desgin an existing area into a physican’s office. As a group, we designed this fa-cility after doing extensive cility after doing extensive research on healthcare design. Our particular office was inspired by an Indiana native wild flower, the blue bell. Incorporating an aqd-equate amount of sunlight was a priority, and many planters were added to bring the aesthetics of the out-doors in. This elements will assist in creating a soothing and relaxing space for pa-tients visiting the facility.

For this hospitality design, we were to create a restaurant in Bangkok, Thailand. It was called “Urban Flavor,” and was a fran-chise seen in the eastern parts of Asia. This was a team project in which I was responsible for the entire floor plan. We got the entire floor plan. We got inspriration from the river mar-kets that flow through Bangkok and pulled most of our colors and materials based off the food that is sold at these markets.

The floor plan and materials selected tooka backseat to this project as we focused more onthe lighting design for the entire home.

Lighting ScheduleThis sample lighting schedule was created by calculating the appropriate amount of lighting needed in that particular room.

We used our calculations and applied them into our 3ds Max models to create a realistic residential space.
