Overview of Interim Text-to-9-1-1 Status

Text calls forwarded to Legacy Selective Routers as TDD/TTY calls.

Accommodates legacy PSAPs without changes. PSAP CPE answers call and detects TDD tones. Call taker converses with SMS caller via TDD

functions. Less impact on PSAP operations then Web

Interface. Works within existing legacy 9-1-1 standards.

Third party operates a web server accessed by PSAPs via the public InternetRequires Internet Service and a browser-

equipped workstationCall taker/PSAP authenticates to web server and

receives SMS callsNo new PSAP CPE required – may require a
