Interfaith Week 14-18 November 2016 At Awbridge we follow the (statutory duty) to implement the Hampshire Agreed Syl- labus for religious educaon, Living Difference Revised. Linked to this is a desire to ensure our children embrace our wonderfully diverse world. (Part of our SMSC and Brish Values). As such we wanted to be a part of Interfaith week and so invited in a visitor from the Hindu religion, Chrisan religion and Jewish religion to share in their faith and their religion, through stories, drama and the sharing of tradions and themes relevant to their different religious beliefs. The children had hugely enjoyable, interacve and educaonal workshops, that were followed up in class with addional exploraons of the meaning and importance of ‘faith’. Above all, the week has reminded us that we live in a diverse community and that we should accept and respect the differences that make all of us special.

Interfaith Week

14-18 November 2016

At Awbridge we follow the (statutory duty) to implement the Hampshire Agreed Syl-labus for religious education, Living Difference Revised. Linked to this is a desire to ensure our children embrace our wonderfully diverse world. (Part of our SMSC and British Values).

As such we wanted to be a part of Interfaith week and so invited in a visitor from the Hindu religion, Christian religion and Jewish religion to share in their faith and their religion, through stories, drama and the sharing of traditions and themes relevant to their different religious beliefs.

The children had hugely enjoyable, interactive and educational workshops, that were followed up in class with additional explorations of the meaning and importance of ‘faith’.

Above all, the week has reminded us that we live in a diverse community

and that we should accept and respect the differences that make all of us

special.
