OCTOBER 2, 2012
ADIDAS EYEWEAR, CURRIE TECH, DAHON, KETTLER, LIGHT & MOTION,
HEININGER AUTOMOTIVE, EZ STAND VOL. 3 NUMBER2
Interbike 2012 was a busy event for us. Our vendors that exhibited brought a
wide array of new models to show. Here’s a rundown of what was shown and
newsworthy information from our non-exhibiting vendors.
adidas Eyewear
Team Movistar’s Alejandro Velverde wins stage 17 at this year’s TDF. His
eyewear is adidas evil eye 2 halfrims
A number of dealers in the Northwest have added adidas eyewear to their mix. It
makes sense to offer a well-known name of premium eyewear that isn’t over
distributed.
The adidas brand is a powerful name in the sporting goods industry. The
company is launching a line-up of premium/performance eyewear with models
specific for the cycling market. Furthermore they’ve developed programs
dedicated to the IBD!
adidas eyewear represents dollar-for-dollar, the most technical eyewear story in
the marketplace. Even the more expensive products from our competitors do
not offer the features and benefits of adidas eyewear.
Interested in learning more? We’ll show you why the product is unique and how
easy it is to become a dealer with our low cost starter package. We hear there
are some exciting things happening in 2013, join the adidas team now!

Currie Tech
The Currie Tech booth at Interbike was a lively place. It’s difficult to fathom the
excitement of all the recent developments at Currie Tech. Perhaps the best way
is to list the highlights!
Currie Tech is acquired by The Accell group. Accell’s resources and
experience will enable Currie to additionally grow their E-bike business in
the United States.
Currie Tech invests in 5 demo vans and product managers to promote
and support our dealer network across the country.
Currie Tech announced move to larger facility this year.
Currie Tech announces E-flow line of Swiss design high performance
ebikes. Winner of Gold design/innovation IF award at Taipei Cycle show.
Currie Tech announces the addition of Diavelo ebike line from Europe.
Currie Tech announces the addition of Haibike with Bosch Drivetrain!
Bicycling magazine Oct. 2012 issue spotlights Ebikes! - 3 of the 5
bikes mentioned in favorable reviews are Currie Tech products.
Currie Tech fine tunes iZip products for 2013, and offers great new
dealer programs.
We heard a number of dealers comment that Currie Tech is pretty much the
vendor of choice of ebikes! No other company can offer the experience, support,
programs, and range of quality products.

These bikes wowed the visitors at the Currie Tech booth! Engineered in
Switzerland, they boast the latest technology, features, and design in a high
performance ebike. The eFlow is perfect for commuters or for anyone looking for
a quick, high-performance bike, that's both easy to use, and incredibly fun to
ride. The bike's fast design is matched by construction and components designed
for a performance ride, including an RST monoshock to smooth out rough roads,
a 20-speed drivetrain, internal cable routings for a clean look, and Auriga E-Sub
brakes, which have electronic sensors to cut power to the motor and activate
regenerative braking to send power back to the battery. The unique battery is
part of the seat post, keeping the weight perfectly centered.
A step thru model is offered in white, and a diamond frame model in 2 sizes in
black. MSRP is $3999.
Diavelo
Currie Technologies®, in partnership with Denmark’s electric bike innovators
Protanium, today announced they are adding three Diavelo branded urban
electric bicycles to their North American product offerings, the Au2Bahn, Karden
Shaft Drive Motor prototype, and Fixie Lite.
Two of the urban-inspired ebikes, the Au2Bahn and Karden, were awarded IF
Innovation Awards at the Eurobike show in Freidrichshafen, Germany last month;
the Au2Bahn for its light weight, and the Karden, for its unique and efficient
shaft drive system.
“The idea was to create powerful electric bikes with the cool, simple look urban
riders want,” said Currie Technologies President Larry Pizzi. “These three bikes
have very different personalities, but they all have strong appeal in the urban
landscape for a variety of uses.”
The Fixie Lite is built for short rides across town with torque, power, and ultra-
lightweight convenience, while the Au2Bahn is a multi-speed bike featuring an
exclusive 36-volt Protanium drive system with a powerful 500 watt brushless
motor, and a removable, downtube-mounted, high-capacity lithium-ion battery
pack.

Haibike
Take a high performance mountain bike (a Haibike was used by 2012 Olympic
medal winner) and add an advanced drive system from renown, electronics
company - Bosch, and you get a bike that will take you almost anywhere.
That’s the Haibike product from Germany. Interbike attendees were fortunate to
get a sneak peek at these future models which will be available from Currie Tech.
eZip will continue to provide quality entry level bikes and scooters for the mass
market.
The new Currie Tech Support Vehicle
As you can see there was a lot going on at Currie Tech. Above is the new demo

Dahon
We joined the Dahon sales team several months ago and quickly learned why
Dahon is the global leader in folding bikes. With over 30 years of experience,
the company’s quality, engineering, innovation, and product offerings are well
ahead of any competitor. If you are looking to boost sales, the folding bike category is an excellent way to
gain another market segment. Urban dwellers, RVer’s Boaters, Pilots, Bus/Rail
riders are all potential folding bike sales.
Dahon showed some new flagship bikes for the coming year.
The anniversary bike was designed to be the fastest, highest quality
production folding bicycle in the world. Sram dual drive and Shimano Dura Ace
give this bike 30 speed gearing. Control Tech Carbon wheels, carbon post, San
Marco saddle, Schwalbe SE Durano 115 psi tires. This is one fast folder for the
road enthusiast!
The anniversary replica is a slightly scaled down version with step down
components, but still offers the high end performance.
Completing the new premium road bikes at Interbike is the Dr. Hon Mu SL. A
striking, bike equipped with SRAM components, and special Vuelta Wheels.
It was nice to learn Dahon was continuing with the best-selling Eco C7, Speed
D7, Mariner D7 and MU P8. Dahon does not routinely change models unless it
makes sense. The above models are proven winners.
Electric Bike are gaining more and more momentum in the United States at
IBDs. Dahon recognizes this and will be offering The Dahon Ikon Electric with
BionX drive system. There will be 2 models with different battery specs. Slated to
arrive in 2013.
Dahon has a wide offering of folding bikes and premium Dahon branded
accessories. We are happy to review the line with you.

Light and Motion has upgraded last year’s super successful line, now offering
even more value from the premier cycle lighting company.
As an industry leader, Light and Motion has adopted the ANSI/NEMA FL-1
lighting standard. Our lights are submitted for stringent testing on 5 parameters;
Lumen Output, Beam distance, Run time, Water resistance, and Impact
Resistance. When a customer buys a Light and Motion Product, they get what
they pay for, not unsubstantiated performance claims! Consumers can now get
test results on a number of popular cycling lights, many just don’t perform as
advertised. Look up your light at www.lightandmotion.com

KETTLER Leisure Products
Kettler displayed in the health and fitness area at Interbike. They now offer some
Asian made versions of their exercise equipment that retain the quality,
appearance and feel of the German counterparts but at a popular price point.
Kettler is a German Company, their products are sold in over 60 countries
worldwide. They have been producing made-in-Germany, high quality bikes for
over 30 years. In addition, the company makes premium exercise equipment,
outdoor furniture, and other recreational products. Their U.S. based operation is
in Virginia Beach, VA.
Kettler Bikes is expanding their bike market in the United States, and we are
partnering with them, seeking dealers in need of top quality German Made; Kids,
City, and E-bikes.
KIDS
Parents will love the engineering and quality that goes into a Kettler Kids Bike.
The company has invested heavily in the development of models that reduce
bike related risks as much as possible. Optimized brakes, lighting, materials,
and geometry in addition to fenders, chainguards, and quality components result
in bikes for people who want the best for their children. Kettler’s reputation for
the making the finest kids bikes is well deserved. The bike seat carriers are
another popular item with our IBDs.
CITY/TREKKING BIKES
In Europe, more so than in this country, bikes are an important means of
transportation. Kettler has developed high quality transportation bikes made to
the highest standards. Chainguards, fenders, ergonomics and German
manufacture/engineering yield bikes for the serious, uncompromising commuter.
E-BIKES
Kettler enjoys a huge E-bike business in their country and the rest of Europe. As
a result only a limited number of select E-bikes will be available in the U.S. If you
are interested in a top quality German made and engineered electric bike we’d
be happy to explain the Kettler product and program. Currently available are
several Panasonic- powered model pedelecs. The motor will only engage while
the bike is being pedaled. Bosch drives will also be coming. A Kettler ebike was
recently favorably reviewed in the October issue of Bicycling Magazine.
EXERCISE EQUIPMENT
We recently learned some IBDs are selling and servicing exercise equipment to
help offset those slow winter months. What a great idea that positively
compliments cycling products. Kettler offers a full range of premium fitness
products. Available are: bike trainers, exercise bikes, cross trainers, rowing
machines, treadmills and weights. As mentioned the Asian sourced Kettler
Product is a great option for the budget conscious.
New catalogs are coming. Let us know if you’d like one. Special terms and
pricing available.
