Scenario 1 – Permission Lists: Many users have one role that contains

one permission list with pages that conflict with one another.

Solution: Navigate to the permission list to remove access to one of the

two pages causing the violation.

Scenario 2 – Roles: Many users have one role that contains two

permission lists that conflict with one another.

Solution: Split the role into two roles and separate the permission list between the two. Assign individual roles to users making sure they are not both assigned to the same individual.

Scenario 3 - Users: A user has two roles that conflict with one another.

Solution: Navigate to the User Profile for that user and remove one of the

roles from their user profile.

Interpreting the Results via QueryThere are three queries that have been set up to help walk you through interpreting

the results.

1. SMC_SOD_CONFLICTS_CLASSID

a. Addresses Scenario 1 from the section above – one permission list has a

violation within itself.

2. SMC_SOD_CONFLICTS_ROLE

a. Addresses Scenario 2 from the section above – one role contains one or more

permission lists that have violations when paired together.

3. SMC_SOD_CONFLICTS_USER

a. Addresses Scenario 3 from the section above – one user has multiple roles that

have violations when paired together.
