VCI CONSULTATION WORKSHOP

Saturday, May 5th from 10:15 a.m.-3 p.m.

Do you love your church? Are you interested in its future?

Then come!

This workshop is open to everyone in the church and will be led by our VCI coach Naomi Garcia. It is designed to go deeper than our time with her in March. It will answer the question of “why” we need to be having these conversations and why we cannot take church vitality for granted even when we feel we

are in a strong place already. Several important concepts regarding the church in the world today will be explored.

There will be opportunity for input from participants before the VCI Consultation Team finishes our congregational report.

People in other churches who have attended this workshop have called it “excellent”, even “life-changing” and noted that

they felt included and valued. Those who met Naomi Garcia on March 20th know that she left us both inspired and challenged!

Lunch and child care will be provided (children bring a sack lunch). Participants should be prepared

to come and stay for the whole workshop.

Dear Church Family,

Thank you for your grace-filled outpouring of prayer, encouragement and support to me and to my family in the

midst of my mom's recent health crisis. We feel your prayers, and your many kindnesses have touched me deeply.

It will be a lengthy, yet we hope steady, time of recovery. You are amazing and faithful Christ-followers;

I am so grateful for you and to serve among you. Thank you! Pastor Joy

Altar Flower Sign Up

will be Different for 2018

Altar flowers are a nice way to remember someone, honor or celebrate someone’s birthday,

wedding, or anniversary.

If you would like to sign up for one of the above ways, please fill out the purple form you will find on the bulletin board in the coat room hallway. You may leave it on the

board or put it in Liza Gray’s mailbox down in the office area.

If you would prefer to donate to the flower fund instead of listing something, call the church office and speak to Liza Gray 734-475-8119 and she will let you know what to do.

Bible Study Basics - New Sunday

Morning Bible Study

This class meets on Sunday mornings in March and April from 10:30-11:30 a.m. in Room 207. It will be led by Sondra Willobee,

a retired United Methodist pastor. We’ll study the scripture passage for the morning services using discussion questions

in three different areas:

What does this passage say? What does this passage mean?

How does this passage impact my life?

The CFUMC Collage Concert

on Saturday, April 21st has been cancelled

Sunday, April 29th

3 p.m.

Capital City Brass Band – lead by Director Jim Otto, traditional British brass band hymns and marches to

virtuoso transcriptions of orchestral standards, jazz and show tunes.

TIPS FOR ANT PREVENTION

* Clean up spills-ants love sticky, sweet substances

* Cover up food-ants go the easy route; why work twice as hard for food when there’s

so much food lying around? Make it difficult-wrap it up.

* Check for crumbs- as soon as you spot crumbs sweep them up. Ants work fast.

*Report ant sightings to Facility Manager ASAP.

Thirty three participants fasted for 30 hours to address injustice... in the name of children around the world who die every

11 seconds from hunger related causes. They served at CFUMC Community Breakfast, shopped for food needs at Faith in Action,

loaded 600 plastic eggs with candy for FIA Easter baskets, and shared laughter with some pretty

incredible friends along the way.
