    Intensive Healing with Traditional Medicine

    Presented by:Rita Navarrete Perez and Tonita Gonzales

    I am happy to announce the schedule for our Intensive Healing Retreat

    This journey is a bi-lingual (English/Spanish) intensive learning experience of Traditional Meso-American Medicine. The

    objective of this retreat is to give people the tools to heal themselves and to heal others. As you will notice in the

    detailed schedule, we will be having hands on practices on a variety of modalities of traditional medicine. The beauty of

    this intensive retreat is that through our own healing, we will be able to understand the principals of healing and learn

    how to guide others in their healing.

    This intensive class, and personal journey will a life changing experience. The class will be limited to 8 individuals. The

    Journey will be rustic, we will be staying in Ritas Home/Temazcal in the outskirts of Mexico City, and in Metaxhi, our

    ranch/rustic retreat home. This class is 24/7 we will prepare some healthy healing meals, have plant walks, and classes.

    The goal is to learn to be balanced physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.

    Schedule

    May 5th Arrive into Mexico City -

    You will be picked up from the Mexico City airport.

    (Please try to make your arrival time for around 3:00pm)

    Meet and Greet, with optional Temazcal

    May 6th - Morning Temazcal/Sobada

    Danza Therapia (Dance therapy)Class- Valores of Curanderismo - This class will discuss the essential values of traditional Healing

    Temazcal, and Full Body Massage

    May 7th Adventure into Mexico City

    Visit to the Traditional Markets of Sonora and Uruguay

    Visit to the Museo de Medicina Mexicana

    (Lunch not included on this day)

    May 8th - Morning Departure to Mataxchi Mexico, our retreat center La Cultura Cura

    Understanding the concepts of the human body

    Food as Medicine

    May 9th The Energy of working with community

    Class and practice of Moxabustion and VentosasEvening of relaxation we will be entering the Temazcal and receiving a full body treatment

    May 10th - Using our hands for Touch and Healing

    Class on using compresses and poultices for healing treatments

    In this class we will be learning to make our own poultices and cataplasmas

    We will also be having hands on practice to understand the benefits of the

    treatments

    May 11th - Understanding the Lymphatic System

    In this class we will be learning about the Lymphatic system

    The lymphatic system is when the body stores most of its toxins

    We will practice different modalities, and treatments to cleanse the body

    Understanding the lymphatic system, help understand many chronic illnesses.

    May 12th - Return to Mexico City

    Closing Ceremony

    Temazcal and Full Body Massage

    May 13th - Return home to your communities. (Please try to make your departure times around 1:00pm

    Price: $1400.00 per person This price includes all ceremonys, classes, Temazcals, healing treatments, ,

    accommodations, all ground transportation and most meals (one lunch is on your own). In addition, you will have to

    pay for your air transportation. The first 8 people to make a deposit will be have a secured reservation. We would like

    for you to make a $400.00 non-refundable deposit by April 7th. The first 8 people that make their deposit will be

    guaranteed on this trip. The second payment of $500.00 by April 12th, and the final payment of $500.00 by April 30th If

    you need to cancel within two weeks of the trip, you will only receive of the trip fees back due to the expenses

    occurred. You can also pay by paypal if it is more convenient.

    Spending Money: At the airport you can exchange American dollars for Mexican pesos at a good rate. Otherwise, I

    recommend that people withdrawl money from their account from an ATM. You will get the current exchange rate, and

    it avoids having to carry lots of cash. People have asked how much money they should take. On the day we will be

    going to Sonora and Mexico City, we will have shopping time at the Traditional Healing Markets, and at locations with

    Jewlery. They are a lot cheaper then most places in Mexico, since they are distributers. They are fun, and I love it! So

    use your discretion.

    Plane Fares: US Airways $538 with taxes, or $558.00 American Airlines from Albuquerque. The goal will be to arrive in

    Mexico about 3ish on the Thursday May 5th. We can talk about travel arrangements individually.

    Please send me your flight information as soon as possible. We need to find out the airlines and flight numbers so we

    can make arrangements. Departing on May 12th, please try to make your departure about 1:00ish in the afternoon

    WHAT TO BRING:Clothing: We will be in several different climates, and terrains. Do not bring your best, but instead very

    comfortable clothing. I will suggest bringing older clothes, you may decided to leave behind and

    donate.

    Light Jacket ( I suggest carrying the jacket on the plane)

    Sweatshirt

    Pajamas

    Jeans/Pants

    Short and long sleeve shirts

    Shorts

    Tennis Shoes, or supportive walking shoes

    Swimming SuitFlip-flops/Sandles

    Toileties: Shampoo, Toothbrush, deodorant, Brush etc.

    Plan to relax and be comfortable.

    Traditionally, when a class is done, it is customary to give a symbolic gift to your teachers, as a token of appreciation.

    This is optional and at your discretion. You may want to bring something from your culture or home state as an offering

    Donations: Rita works with a lot of very poor communities. Some people have asked about taking donations. Any

    donations would be appreciated, however this is voluntary and not a requirement.
