Product Overview

The eight-port Intel® RAID Controller SASMF8I, powered by LSI MegaRAID*

technology, provides a RAID 5 solution for mid- to low-end PCI-Express*

server and workstation environments where high performance and reliable

data protection are required. With support for both SAS and SATA II drives,

customerscannowconfigurecustomsystemsemployingaSAS/SATAadapter

with high-performance SAS drives or low-cost SATA drives.

The Intel RAID Controller SASMF8I is unique in its ability to seamlessly migrate

from an entry-level Intel RAID controller to more full-featured mainstream

and scalable Intel RAID controllers in the future. Users can simply plug in

a new adapter, which can import and recognize the existing array without

anyreconfiguration.
