TennisOn Monday 18, four eager year 6 students headed to the Gloucester Tennis courts to compete against Tinonee in the first round of the PSSA competition. Hugo, Sam, Selina and Summer were in good spirits throughout their matches. Hugo and Selina were first to contend and despite the score line gap, it was certainly not a true reflection of the great effort and rallies that the two made. Both lost their matches. Summer and Sam were next to contend and each were successful with their matches. The four also competed in girls and boys doubles matches as well as a mixed doubles match. The score was close. They came down to the line, with four sets each. There needed to be a count back on games with Tinonee taking out the day 35 games to 30. Overall, it was a great experience with fantastic sportsmanship from all of the students. Mr Keen was very impressed with their efforts.

Cross CountryCross Country Reminder to all students. Weather permitting, we plan to hold our cross country on this Friday 29 March in and around the school. Notes have already gone home so make sure they are all returned in on time giving your child permission to run on part of the course outside of school grounds along Kenmore and Skye Road. If the run needs to be postponed, it will be

scheduled for week 10 if possible.

Congratulations to the following students who have demonstrated the school’s values: Week 7Allira Wilson, Kane Germon, Jali Wilson, Hunter McKinley and Oliver Laurie.Week 8Emma Woods, Rory Gambrill, Hugo Laurie, Nathaniel Graham and Jackson Bandy.

Science in K/1/2Last week in our science lesson, K/1/2 created four different practical experiments. The experiments demonstrated how sound is produced by tiny rapid vibrations and how we can change the pitch of sounds by altering certain parts of the instruments. Each group of students rotated around the different ‘sound stations’ and tried out each activity. They were all very engaged in their learning and could reflect on some things they’d discovered. PSSA TrialsRecently, three of our students participated in individual PSSA trials for hockey and soccer. Selina Denyer and Jarrah Wilson for hockey and Brad Rayner for soccer. As always, there was some stiff competition at that level. Brad had a lot of competition and was playing out of his normal position but he gave it his all, however was unsuccessful. There was a little confusion in location for Jarrah, so he did not get the opportunity to compete (but he still has next year!). Selina was more successful in her results for hockey as she was selected to trial through to the next round. Well done to all our students for their efforts and good luck to Selina for the next round.
