and Director or Reliability Coordination at WECC RC.
• Specializes in designing, developing and delivering training modules for System Operations staff.
• Extensive experience in developing Operating Plans, Procedures and Processes.

Changing Our Training Approach
Grid Operators and Electric Utilities training programs must transition from
“memorization-focused” to “problem-solving-focused” education.
Key factors to success include:
• Developing a deeper understanding of electric theory.
• Consistently revisiting operating fundamentals.
• Incorporating critical thinking tools and techniques into training activities
and exercises (practical application of HPI tools).
• Improving simulation-based training offerings.
