Well Flow and Artificial Lift Management

As reservoirs mature and reservoir potential energy declines, continuous natural flow can not be sustained.

At this point, properly selected, designed and managed artificial lift systems become a powerful tool to enhance asset productivity and recovery.

IWFS can use updated methodology to assist companies to select and manage artificial lift technology for optimal field productivity.


IWFS SERVICES Field Operations

IWFS holds an alliance with field operations consulting firms of broad experience both at the domestic and international level in the supervision and execution of operations that include: drilling and completion, workover & recompletions, abandonment and artificial lift.

Drilling operations include specialities on-shore and off-shore among others: conventional drilling with mud, air drilling, managed pressure drilling (MPD) and underbalance drilling (UBD). IWFS coordination, the know-how and operational experience of our associated companies and the application of updated technologies executed by experts are guarantee of success in the field operations of our clients.


Gerardo has 20 years upstream and downstream petroleum industry experience with major oil & gas operators and service companies with a focus on integrated project management and operations. Gerardo has specialized on operations of excellence with emphasis on human, technological and effectiveness values. As a leader and a team player, Gerardo experienced strong active corporate participation during the merge of Mobil and Exxon as a key member of the asset optimization team and as a leader s part of Schlumberger's aggressive IPM and SPM drilling campaign. During his professional life, Gerardo has acquired a solid background as a project manager from his experience in corporations including: Mobil Oil, Exxon, ExxonMobil Schlumberger where he performed with a focus on team work and the search for effective results as main drivers of his business motivation. Gerardo holds a civil engineering degree from Pontificia Universidad Javeriana of Bogota, Colombia.

Mario has several years of upstream experience in the Oil & Gas industry. Mario’s experience involves expertise in petroleum exploration & production including: conventional & unconventional sweet-spot exploration, asset evaluation, acquisition & divestiture, field development planning, reservoir management, drilling and completion planning, field/reservoir production surveillance planning, nodal analysis and IPM, multi- phase well flow modeling and artificial lift design, reserves estimation and project economical analysis, fluid properties/PVT and pressure transient analysis. Prior to founding IWFS, Mario provided consulting services and led multidisciplinary project teams and task forces with consulting and operators including : Eclipse Petroleum Technology, BHP Billiton, Hess Corporation, Kuwait Oil Company, PEMEX; worked in Swift Energy, Saudi Arabian Oil Company (Saudi Aramco), ECOPETROL (Colombian Petroleum Company), Colombia Cities Services (OXY) and the Universidad Industrial de Santander (UIS) of Colombia. Mario holds a Petroleum Engineering degree from Universidad Industrial de Santander and a Master’s Degree in Computer Science/Operations Research from Texas A&M University.
