NH Health Protection Plan (Medicaid
Expansion)
What is it?:
• A federally funded, locally managed health care program that expands
• Provides coverage to low income NH residents
• Only 6% identified as needing treatment can access it- Second lowest in the Nation
• Increased Medicaid coverage could double people receiving treatment (another 7,000+ people)
• Dependent on ability of providers to expand capacity to meet need
