Programme 4: Help unemployed people into work and learning
Priority areas for Council action:• Coordination of employability services
– Strategic Skills Pipeline– Get On Gateway– Third Party Grants – Challenge Fund– European Social Fund– Joined Up For Business
• Helping school leavers and young people make the transition into work– Edinburgh Guarantee– JET Programme– Inspiring Young People– Modern Apprenticeships– Capital Skills
• Early intervention on unemployment– Integrated Employability Hubs contract
• Supporting those in low paid or insecure employment– Subsidised Childcare contract– Partnership Action for Continuing Employment (PACE)
• Supporting vulnerable individuals– Supported Employment contract– Project SEARCH
Integrated Service Model•The Strategic Skills Pipeline is the framework within which the city's Integrated Employability Service (IES) is organised.
•The aim is that local and national service providers collaborate to meet the "full" needs of our jobseekers and employers.
•The Get On Gateway provides integrated access to services.
•5 local Employability Hubs were commissioned to help ensure ease of access to services across the city.
