Organisational Context
“Vicdeaf’s vision is for access and equity for Deaf and hard of hearing people”The Victorian Deaf Society (Vicdeaf) provides information, programs, skills development and education to over 16,000 deaf and hard of hearing adults each year through its diverse range of services across Victoria.
Established in 1884, Vicdeaf is a progressive community service organisation that provides relevant, responsive and accessible services so that people who are deaf or hard of hearing can enjoy equal opportunities across all areas of life. hearservice is a division of Vicdeaf and specialises in adult audiology and rehabilitation, hearing loss management, tinnitus management and assistive listening devices products and services. Our aim is to support the individual communication choices of Deaf and hard of hearing Victorians through the provision of holistic services, independent of any particular brand of hearing aid supplier.
Position PurposeThe main objectives of this role are to conduct hearing screenings across different sites, and to provide promotional, planning and logistical support to the hearservice team for community events. The role also includes some reception relief and administrative support including data entry.
KRA: Conducting hearing screeningsActions Performance Indicators
Conduct hearing screening tests and provide helpful information to clients
Assist Program Mangers find and drive new services to be provided to clients
Successful hearing checks conducted and clients provided with appropriate information
New service opportunities identified, shared and followed up as appropriate
Provide support to increase clients taking up services with Vicdeaf
KRA: Provide Administration Support Actions Performance Indicators
Create reports, basic graphs and assist with data entry as follow-up from site visits
Support Admin team with QDC data entry when required
Extract data from the hearservice Client
Accurate and timely data entry, extraction and reporting
Administrational support provided where required

Relationship Management system as required. Provide support with ad hoc administration
duties including relief reception.
KRA: Events CoordinationActions Performance Indicators
Manage event logistics and administration Represents hearservice at stakeholder and
community events.
Events are well organised and run seamlessly hearservice is promoted and new areas for business
identified, shared and followed up as appropriate
KRA: Online Media Input (social media)
Actions Performance Indicators Social media channels are used for promotion
and communicating key messages on events Relevant community information is shared Links with services and organisations
developed
Online channels are regularly updated with event details and new information
Recommendations for areas of improvement
KRA: Additional Duties Undertake additional duties in accordance with role expectations

Health Promotion experience and/or qualification desirable Proficient in the full suite of Microsoft office applicationsNote: We work in a bilingual environment (English/Auslan). Proficiency in Auslan is not necessary for the
role, but it is a requirement that employees have - or learn - basic Auslan (Australian Sign Language).
