CHALLENGE: Design up-market residences near local Ellicottville winter sports venues to accommodate a variety of

client aesthetics.

SOLUTION: Create three diverse aesthetic styles within repeating building models for buyers to select: French

Country, Jackson Hole & The Ultra

CHALLENGE: Expand the current structure and provide modern amenities while maintaining the houses original historic charm.

SOLUTION: Recreate key elements that previously existed and use era-accurate fixtures, trim and furnishings while improving circulation and comfort.

HARD ROCK CAFENIAGARA FALLS, NEW YORKPROJECT TYPE: Addition

CHALLENGE: Turn an existing storage room into a seamless dining space directly off the main

dining room.

SOLUTION: Utilize the existing aesthetic of the restaurant and add some bold new variations with

color, texture and form.

FLETCHER PERFORMANCE HALLCHAUTAUQUA INSTITUTION - CHAUTAUQUA, NEW YORK

PROJECT TYPE: New Construction

CHALLENGE: Design a state of the art performance venue using LEED principals

with capacity for 300 people and have the flexibility to be

converted into an open ball room space when needed.

SOLUTION: Use a clean palate of colors and forms that focus attention on the

performer, and when needed, engage the retractable seating to

provide a wide open ballroom-like space.

FOWLER-KELLOGG ART CENTERCHAUTAUQUA INSTITUTION - CHAUTAUQUA, NEW YORKPROJECT TYPE: Historic Restoration

CHALLENGE: Create a modern gallery space within a building that had seen years of neglect while honoring its rich historic character.

SOLUTION: Refurbish key historic interior elements, i.e. wood ceilings, grand staircase etc., construct fin walls to soften natural harsh light, replace existing

worn hardwood flooring with American Cherry hardwood flooring and use artificial lighting that disappears in front of the stunning historic details.

CHALLENGE: Update a worn, cold and outdated circa 1950’s cafe to reflect more modern amenities

similar to coffee shops like Coffee Culutre and Panera Bread.

SOLUTION: Open the floor plan, remove partition walls, relocate food services based on types in a hub

format with new service line casework, counter tops, flooring, lighting, signage and paint.

Use natural materials such as wood, granite and cork to warm the space in a clean and

elegant way.

New Construction

Make an unforgettable welcoming statement to visitors coming Niagara Falls

USA.

Use materials and forms native to the Niagara Region, i.e., fossilized stone, an

iconic waterfall 2-story light monitor, undulating water mimicking surfaces etc.

Copious natural light was used to form cascading shadows that move and

change throughout the day, mimicking the always changing Niagara itself.

Historic Restoration

Restore the storied building #40 of the Richardson Complex to it’s once stunning condition after decades of

abandonment and vandalism.

Reveal long board hardwood floors covered over by layers of vinyl tile, refinish the grand staircase,

skim coat peeling lathe & plaster walls, recondition century old doors and hardware, rebuild and reglaze damaged

windows, recondition intricate plaster brackets and install an HVAC system to stabilize the interior environment.
