Insurance Committee 2010 Report to SKEA RA
Process of SKEA Decision Making
• Insurance Committee met with OEBB• Insurance Survey will be forthcoming • Insurance Committee will review plans and
make recommendation to Board• Board will approve that recommendation• Does not require an all member vote – we are
not changing carriers, only possibly changing plans

2010 OEBB Rate Increases• Medical Plans increased from 8.8% to 28.63%• Medical Trend 11%, 5 plans above – 6 plans below• Dental Plans increased from 0% to 6.35%• Vision Plans increased from 0% to 8.8%• Weight Management program increase

Future• Excise tax for plans over $10,200 for singles and
$27,500 for families starting in 2018.• Employers must include healthcare value on W2.
