TheX96Snon-contactweighingsystemisan

economicalapproachforsolidsweighingonbeltand

screwconveyors.Itisdesignedtodeliveroutstanding

performanceinawiderangeofdifficultapplications

andprocessconditionsforbulksolids.Thesystem

utilizesasinglecomputercompatiblewithallRonan

detectors,whichiseasilyexpandabletoaccurately

measurethemostcomplexprocesses.Theseinclude

themostdangerousmaterialssuchascaustic,toxic,

corrosive,explosive,andcarcinogenicirrespective

oftheirtemperature.Themodulardesignisidealto

upgradeoldersystemswhilekeepingtheexisting

sources.

MeASuReMeNt pRiNCipleEachsystemconsistsofagammasource,frame,

detectorandmicroprocessor.Thegammasource,

typicallymountedonthetopoftheframeabovethe

conveyorbeltorscrew,emitsgammaenergythrough

thematerial,collimatedinadirectiontowardsthe

detectormountedonthebottomoftheconveyor.The

massofmaterialontheconveyorattenuatesthegamma

energy.Theamountofenergyreachingthedetector

isinverselyproportionaltothemassontheconveyor.

Thedetectormeasuresthelevelofenergyandsendsa

proportionalsignaltotheX96Smicroprocessorwhich

linearizes,filters,andcorrelatesthissignaltoaweight

andratemeasurement.

Theentiresystemismountedexternaltotheconveyor

andcanbeinstalledbysimplyboltingtheframearound

theconveyor,withouttheneedtomakeanycostly

modificationstotheconveyoritself.Thelightweight,

compactdesignenablesittobelocatedinareaswhere

spaceisalimitationandwithouttheneedforadditional

supportsorfoundations.
