This competition may be used to establish a 12 month eligibility list of qualified candidates for future vacancies. DUTIES Reporting to the Chair of the Construction Trades department, the Instructor is required to deliver both the theoretical and practical aspects of Plumbing to apprentices and pre-employment students in the Plumbing program, including instruction into related trades. Topics covered will include, but are not limited to, trade safety, tools and equipment, gas fitting, piping and materials, regulations and project installation and plumbing code. Duties include, but are not limited to: development and modification of curriculum, conduct student assessment and counseling, perform lab and classroom facility design and setup, maintain lab and classroom equipment and perform related administrative responsibilities as required. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Valid inter-provincial journeyperson's certificate in Plumbing Significant related industry experience in the commercial and/or residential aspects of the trade Experience using a variety of hand tools and machines Experience reading blueprints Effective verbal and written communication skills Effective interpersonal skills Effective leadership skills Ability to work independently as well as in small to large group settings Ability to use conflict resolution techniques to facilitate positive outcomes Ability to present material to diverse groups with the use of appropriate technology Proficiency with MS Office software (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) Values Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Commitment to lifelong learning ASSETS Certificate in Adult Education (CAE) or Technical Vocational Diploma Valid journeyperson’s certificate in Gasfitter A or B Post-secondary instructional experience A network of contacts within industry Ability to work remotely Experience with online instruction and learning CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT Applicants must be legally entitled to work in Canada This position may be required to work evenings and/or weekends COMPETITION NUMBER 2020-115 CLOSING DATE Until Filled SALARY $58,744 – 87,246 per annum* POSITION LOCATION Notre Dame Campus (Winnipeg, MB) POSITION TYPE 2 Full-Time Term Positions Available Anticipated September 30, 2020 up to March 31, 2021 Possibility of an Extension APPLY BY EMAIL TO [email protected] EXPRESSION OF INTEREST
