Before You Begin Soft Top Installation:Congratulations on your purchase of theQuadraTop! This high quality soft top is designed to provide years of protectionfrom whatever nature can throw at you!We have used only the finest materialsin creating this soft top but like anyproduct that is exposed to the elements,there is some general maintenance thatis required to keep your QuadraToplooking like new. Please see page 10for these important maintenance tips aswell as page 11 for available hardwarecomponents that may have been lost orworn over the years.

When unpacking, check to make sure allparts are included. If any part is missing or broken, please call Quadratec Customer Service at 800-745-6037as soon as possible.

This product is designed to fit over your original factory soft top hard-ware and factory soft upper metal door frames. Please see the imagebelow to make sure you have the correct hardware for this top. Notethat on full hard door soft top models the hardware was different thanthe half hard door soft tops. This top is designed to fit over the origi-nal factory half door style soft top hardware only.

Step 1: Remove any & allPre-Existing Soft Top FabricPut on safety glasses. After verifyingthat you have the correct hardware, re-move the existing soft top from the vehi-cle. Once the soft top is removed,inspect the hardware to make sureno parts are bent or missing.

Once it is determined that the hardwareis correct and not damaged, raise thebows (3/4 of the way up) and upperdoor surrounds and lock the door sur-rounds into place as shown in Fig 1 & 2.

Make sure the rear spreader bars are notengaged at this time.

For a smooth fit and ease of installation, this top should be installedat temperatures above 72 degrees. Below this temperature, the fabricmay contract an inch or more making it difficult to install. We highlyrecommend taking the top out of the package and letting it sit insidea warm place or direct sunlight for 1-2 hours before you install the top.When warm, this top will install quickly.

Please also note that it is normal for fabric to contract and wrinklewhen stored in the shipping carton. In a few days the fabric will relaxand wrinkles will disappear.

Step 2: Position New Top on VehiclePlace the new soft top fabric on the topof the hardware system.

The plastic header should be facingforward and the two rear cornersshould be facing down. See Fig 3.

Step 3: Attach Fabric to BowsLocate the front and rear snap strapsand snap each to the front and rearbows securing the top to the hardwaresystem. See Figs 4, 5, & 6.

Soft Top Installation:

If your original factory hardware has been replaced with an aftermar-ket version, the center snap strap will not be used. In this case, tuckcenter snap strap under top of bows to prevent it from hanging down.

Step 4: Install Fabric intoYour Windshield ChannelInsert the front plastic windshieldretainer strip sewn along the front ofthe top into the Windshield Channelfront slot. Be certain not to catch any

fabric in the channel. While installing,make sure the top is centered side toside in the channel so that there is anequal distance from the center of thewindshield. See Figs 7 & 8

Make sure your windshield channel is secured and not loose. The chan-nel must maintain its 90 degree angle to work properly. Over time thewindshield channel holes where the screws are located can rust outcausing the channel to come loose. If this is the case you will need toreplace your existing channel or replace existing screws with slightlylarger screws. See additional photos below:

Step 5: Secure Front Bow AssemblyPush/pull the front bow assembly allthe way forward into the notch foundon the side belt rail. See Figs 9 & 10

Step 6: Install Rear CornersWith the rear bow not completelyengaged, install rear corners into thecorner belt rails ensuring the clear/whiteplastic reinforcement are not hookedinto the railing.

Line up edge of the plastic strip withthe edge of the retainer. Repeat onother side. See Fig 11

Make sure the whiteclear plastic is NOThooked into the belt rail.

Step 7: Secure Rear BowsPush the bottom of the rear bow backtowards the rear of the vehicle until itsnaps into place. Make sure the fabricrear corners are still engaged. Note: thefirst time this is done it will be tight.See Figs 12 & 13

Step 8: Lock Spreader Bars into PlaceWith the rear bows secured, push up onthe spreader bars until they lock intoplace. Make sure when pushing up onthe spreader bars that you go straightup and not up and ”inwards” whilepushing.

Pushing inwards will damage yourspreader bars. See Figs 14 & 15

Step 9: Installing Side CurtainsThis may be easier with the spreaderbar released. Line up & attach the topand side zippers on the side curtainsapproximately 2-3 inches. Note that sidezipper may not line up with the cornerfabric unless you slide the corner fabricaround in the belt rail towards the front

of the vehicle. Once the side zipper is at-tached and zipped up 2-3 inches, youcan slide the corner back around to-wards the rear of vehicle and line upthe black plastic strip with the edgeof the retainer. See step 10 (below)and see Figs 16 & 17.

Step 10: Insert Side Curtain intoVertical Door Surround Retainer. With the top and side zippers still onlypartially closed 2-3”, slip the plasticstrip on the front of the side curtaininto the retainer channel on the verticalsupport bow. See Fig 18

Step 11: Attach the Side Curtainsto Body Belt Rail.While pulling down, slip the side curtainbottom retaining channel into the bodybelt rail starting from one end andpressing down to the other as shownin Figs 19 & 20.

Completely zip up side curtain Zippers,re-engage spreader bars and then com-pletely zip top side curtain zipper. SeeFig 21. Repeat steps nine through elevenon the other side of the vehicle.

Step 13: Install Tailgate RetainerWith the rear curtain loosely installed,open the tail gate and slide the rearcurtain retainer onto the bottom ofthe rear curtain. See Fig 24

Step 12: Installing Rear CurtainAttach the Top Zipper on the rear cur-tain to the top. Zip across 3-6” only.

Attach both side zippers on the rearcurtain to the top zipping them downabout 3-6”. See Figs 22 & 23

Step 14: Secure Tailgate RetainerWith the rear curtain attached, “roll”the rear tailgate bar into the two reartailgate retainers.

Once engaged into the retainers, slip therear curtain plastic retainers into thebottom of the tailgate retainer channel.See Figs 25, 26 & 27.

Zip the rear curtain top and two sidezippers closed.

Step 15: Snap The Top OverDoor Snaps to Hardware Fasten snaps on top to the over doorsliding studs on hardware. Snaps shouldeasily slide to match snap locations onthe top. See Fig 28.

The Soft top portion of the installationis now complete.

Step 16: Remove Old Upper Door Fabricfrom your Existing Door Frames Use a razor knife to carefully cut thestitches on the upper door frame fabricand remove them from the metal doorframe. See important warning below:

Step 17A: Install New FabricOver Door Frames Lay a large towel on the ground andplace the upper door skin on the towelto prevent scratching. Un-zip the doorskin window and un-due all hook andloop fasteners on the door skin. IMPORTANT: See Fig 29 for the installa-tion sequence on installing the door skinto the door frame. Place the metal framegently into the top upper rear corner“pocket”. See Fig 30.

Door covers are designed to fit very tight on the door frame. Werecommended using a shoe horn or large spoon to help work thecorners of the cover over the frame without tearing the fabric.

Do not pull on weatherstrip to assist in getting the door cover ondoor frame. This will tear weatherstrip and door will not seal properly.

Step 17B: New Fabric on Door Frames Start by working the upper rear cornerof the door frame into the pocket of thecover. Then work the lower rear cornerof the frame into the cover. Work thebottom front corner of the frame intothe cover. NOTE: the frame should fit in-between the hook and loop flaps,

not between the zipper and the flaps.Lastly, work the upper front corner ofthe frame into the corner of the doorcover. With the door cover straighton the frame, fasten the hook andloop strops around the frame.See Figs 31, 32 & 33

Step 17C: New Fabric on Door Frames With all four corners inserted into thefabric pockets, secure the final hook andloop strip above the door pins.

Note that this will take some pullingand will over time loosen up making iteasier to install. See Figs 34, 35 & 36.

Step 18: Install Upper DoorsInsert the pins into the door grommetsin the lower hard half steel doors. Notethat for the doors to work properly thedoor grommets must be un-damagedand in place. Snap the front snap on thefront of the door to the snap stud on thehard half door. Work the plastic retain-ing strip into the door rail to secure theupper door to the hard half door.See Fig 37.

Care and Maintenance:

Your QuadraTop is made of the finestmaterials available but to keep it look-ing new and for the maximum possiblewear, it will need periodic cleaning andbasic maintenance. The main threats toyour soft top are pollutants, dirt andgrime. By keeping your soft top cleanyou will prolong the life of your top.We recommend the following to keepyour top like new:

Washing: The soft top fabric should bewashed often using a mild soap, warmwater and a soft bristle brush (do notuse the brush on the window glass!).You can also use special soft top clean-ers available on our website and shownon page 9. Make sure that after cleaningyou rinse with clear water to removeall traces of soap.

Zippers: Keeping the zipper cleaned andlubricated with a silicone lubricant (seePage 9) will help prevent damage andkeep the zippers in a smooth workingcondition. If zipper opens behind theslider, the slider may have been spreadapart. This problem can usually be fixed

by using an ordinary pair of pliers tobring the sides back into parallel. Returnslider to the end of the zipper in the nor-mal Open position. Squeeze lightly at

first and test zipper. If the zipper contin-ues to remain open squeeze more firmlywith pliers and try the zipper again.Repeat procedure until your zipperoperates correctly.

Windows: It is very important that youkeep your QuadraTop windows clean!Use a mild soap and water solution togently clean your windows. NEVERwipe your windows clean with a drycloth! Dust and dirt on a dry cloth canscratch your windows causing “fog-ging” and permanent damage. When re-moving your windows, store them witha towel between the panels/rear win-dows to protect them from damage. Iffrost or ice forms on the outside of yourwindows during the winter, DO NOTuse an ice scraper to remove this frost.Over time you will see small microscratches in your windows which arenatural wear and tear. These Microscratches can be “polished” out usingthe window polish listed on page 9(Available at Quadratec.com).

Water/Fabric: In the event of seepingthrough the seams, 3M Scotchgard®

may be applied on the inside of theseams to stop the see . Rips in the fabricmay be repaired with Bondex® iron onpatches. Iron the patches to the Insideof the top, carefully following theBondex® instructions.

Snaps: Keep snaps cleaned and lubri-cated with silicone to help preventsnaps from sticking to the studs. If asnap does become stuck to a stud, use ascrewdriver and GENTLY pry apart toprevent permanent damage to the snapor the top fabric.

Quadratec Limited Warranty for QuadraTopTM Replacement Soft Tops

Your QuadraTop replacement soft top is coveredby the following Limited Warranty providedexclusively by Quadratec, Inc. 1028 SaundersLane, West Chester, PA 19380.

This Limited Warranty is the only warranty madein connection with purchase. Quadratec neitherassumes nor authorizes any vendor, retailer orother person or entity to assume for it any otherobligation or liability in connection with thisproduct or Limited Warranty.

What is Covered:Subject to the terms, exclusions and limitationsherein and with respect only to soft tops first soldin the United States, Quadratec warrants to theinitial retail purchaser only that your QuadraTopsoft top shall be free of defects in material andworkmanship for a period of 3 years from dateof initial retail sale.

All other warranties are hereby disclaimed, exceptto the extent prohibited by applicable law inwhich case any implied warranty of merchantabil-ity or fitness for a particular purpose on this prod-uct is limited to 3 years from date of initial retailsale. Quadratec reserves the rights to: (a.) requireinvoice or other proof your soft top is within theterms of this Limited Warranty as a condition ofwarranty service and, (b.) make future revisions tothis product and Limited Warranty without priornotice or obligation to upgrade your soft top.

What is Not Covered:Your Quadratec Limited Warranty does not coverproducts or parts Quadratec determines to havebeen damaged by or subjected to: (a.) installationdamage, alteration, modification, failure tomaintain or attempted repair or service by anyonenot authorized by Quadratec, (b.) normal wearand tear, cosmetic damage or damage fromwater immersion, (c.) Acts of God, accidents,misuse, negligence, inadequate mounting orimpact with vehicle(s), obstacles or other aspectsof the environment, (d.) theft, vandalism or otherintentional damage.

Remedy Limited to Repair/Replacement:The exclusive remedy provided hereunder shall,upon Quadratec inspection and at Quadratec’s op-tion, be either repair or replacement of product orparts (new or refurbished) covered under this Lim-ited Warranty. Customers requesting warrantyconsideration on QuadraTop soft top should firstcontact Quadratec to obtain a RGA number(610-701-3336). All labor, removal, shipping andinstallation costs are customer’s responsibility.

Other Limitations - Exclusion of Damages- Your Rights Under State Law:In consideration of the purchase price paid,neither Quadratec nor any independent Quadratecdistributor/licensee are responsible for any timeloss, rental costs, or for any incidental, consequen-tial, punitive or other damages you may have orincur in connection with any part or productpurchased. Your exclusive remedy hereunderfor covered parts is repair/replacement asdescribed above.

This Limited Warranty gives you specific rights.You may also have other rights that vary fromstate to state.
