Instructions for installing the Print to PrintShop printer on a Mac

1. On a Mac, click on Launchpad

2. Then click on the Self Service Icon

Now you will be in the Self Service Portal on your Mac

You MUST login in the upper right hand side to get to the RSA SurePDF driver for Print to

PrintShop

The purpose of the Print to Printshop printer is so you can convert your document into a PDF and it

automatically takes you to the printshop.usd497.org website where you can submit your print job.

Once in your cart you can then configure your print job – paper color, quantity, etc. Then place your

print order directly to the print shop.

After logging in, select drivers

Then select RSA SurePDF and install it. You will now have the Print to Printshop printer

If you will be installing the Print to PrintShop printer from home or because you have Apple OS X El

Capitan, you will want to use this guide to install the drivers from our Printing Services Website.

How to tell which version of Apple Operating System you have on your Mac.

Click on about this Mac, then you will see which OS you are running.

OS X El Capitan requires the driver listed below from the Printing Services website – SurePDF drivers for

home printing link

This version, El Capitan requires the newer driver listed below.

VERY IMPORTANT:

TO INSTALL IF YOU ARE RUNNING EL CAPITAN OPERATING SYSTEM

This would be the newest Apple OS (and this one will also work with any Apple OS)

Go to the district internal page - internal.usd497.org

Next scroll down to the bottom right and look for Printing Services, click on that and it will take you to

the Printing Services website.

Select SURE PDF drivers for home printing

Select SURE PDF driver for Mac, it will download and be available in the downloads section

Double Click on USD497_SurePDF_5.0.6 From the downloads section of the browser

A window will open with the download. You will need to click on the box to install the driver,

Then select continue as prompted

Then select install as prompted

You might be prompted for your password to proceed, this would be your computer password

Then continue with the installation, and you will be logged out when it is finished.

After it is installed, you will now have the Print to PrintShopTo

check to make sure it was installed, go to System Preferences, Printers and Scanners, and Print to

Printshop will be one of the choices

You can see that you have the Print to Printshop printer installed. Just select it when you are in any

document. It will automatically convert the document to a PDF and add it to your cart. This will bring

you to the printshop.usd497.org site where you can begin your printing order. You will need to

Now go to print in your word document and you can now select Print to Printshop as a printer from the

dropdown menu

After you select this Print to Printshop printer, you can just click on print. You will enter quantities and

print options when you get to your cart in the printing website

After you click on print, the document will be automatically converted to a PDF for the printshop

software. ALL DOCUMENTS MUST BE PDFs. This conversion to a PDF is very important on a Mac

computer to retain all of the original formatting and fonts.

Next you will automatically be taken to the printshop website printshop.usd497.org to submit your print

order. If you are at home you will be prompted to enter your district username and password before

entering the website. It will bring you to your cart, where you will need to name the order.
