CREATING THE MASTER RESUME

• Your master resume contains all the information you might want to include in your CV for application to different profiles. This needs to be filled before the Master CV deadline.

CREATING PROFILE SPECIFIC RESUMES

• You are allowed to create a maximum of 7 different resumes for different profiles; each would be a subset of the Master resume.

• You have to create these resumes before the Master CV deadline. These resumes cannot be edited after the deadline.

• For each resume, the academic details stay fixed. Rest all is optional. You might choose to show any elective course / publication / award / scholastic achievement / internship / work experience / project / extra-curricular activity / position of responsibility or completely omit a section by not choosing anything in it. (Practical training / IIT Thesis / JEE Rank / GATE / GRE / TOEFL all optional).

• You can reorder your optional sections using drag & drop to create profile specific resumes.

• While applying, you have to select one of these 7 resumes saved in PDF format. The chosen resume would be visible to the company concerned.

Submit self-attested copies of documents for verification at T&P Office, Synergy Building, 3 Sept, 2015 (B.Tech), 4 Sep, 2015 (Dual/M.Tech) (b/w 3 pm - 5 pm). The documents should be neatly stapled / pinned (without a file cover / folder). The first page of the documents should be a photocopy of your IIT identity card. Also write your mobile number on this page. The second page must contain the signed version of the declaration that can be found in the downloads section.

The documents required to be submitted for verification should include copies of:

1. 10/12 class mark sheet - Calculate & write Aggregate % Marks on the Mark sheet while submitting

2. Additional Degree (generally applicable only to PG students)

3. Work Experience (generally applicable only to a few PG students)

4. Gate rank (if mentioned in CV)

5. GRE score (if mentioned in CV)

6. TOEFL score (if mentioned in CV)

7. Every Publication (if mentioned in CV) - Submit a copy of the first page / abstract of the publication.

8. Certificate for every Award & Honor (if mentioned in CV)

9. Certificate for every Scholastic Achievement (if mentioned in CV).

10. Certificate for every Internship (if mentioned in CV)

11. Certificate for any prizes / significant contributions mentioned in Extra-Curricular Activities

12. Certificate for every significant position of responsibility whose information is not provided to T&P by the Board/Club (if mentioned in CV) – All significant positions of responsibility are mentioned in the drop down menu in Position of Responsibility section of the resume.

• Please obtain & submit all your documents for verification (as mentioned above) as soon as possible. When you come to the T&P office with all the verification documents, get your Gate rank, GRE score, TOEFL score, previous degrees, 10/12 class marks - verified by the T&P staff (after which these fields will become non-editable). Remember that unless the documents have been verified, one would not be able to apply.

Mention the mail-id, name & designation of the person used to verify your points and attach them with the documents. Also attach a printed copy of mail used for verification showing the mail-id.

• Do not write anything in your CV that cannot be verified. You must attach all documents relevant to the content of your resume.

The above list is not exhaustive.

APPLICATION TO COMPANIES

• Details of all the companies coming on campus (separated on the basis of profiles - Analytics, Consulting, Core, Finance, and Information Technology, Management or other) would be visible to all the students. However you will be able to apply only to those companies that are open to your programme.

• Whenever you click on 'Submit Application', your resume will be visible to the company. However, you will be able to withdraw any number of times but only till the last date of application.

MISCELLANEOUS

• Do not fill needless data into the master CV.

• At the time of appearing for interviews, you MUST carry copies of the ACSS resume submitted to that company online & NOT a resume submitted to some other companies. Discrepancies in resumes are not appreciated by companies and may become a cause for rejection

CV GUIDELINES:

All original certificates should be readily available with you & produced when asked to show.

All the verification mails (if needed) should be sent at [email protected]

If any statement/event/work included in the CV is not supported by the relevant proofs before deadlines (CV deadline in case of mails and document submission deadline in case of other proofs), you will be directly asked to remove the lines without any further addition and it will be considered invalid liable to strict actions.

1. Only present overall department rank can be written. Semester Department Rank or PG CGPA/Department Rank for Dual students is not

allowed. JEE Rank and CGPA are automatically provided by the system. You should not write it

separately.

2. Start-Ups/ NGO's/ IIT Delhi Chapters For any startup or NGO to be recognized and included in the CV, audited financial report

need to be attached. All IIT Delhi chapters to be included, they need to be registered with IIT Delhi officially.

The approvals of the same should be given by the main authority of the organization.

3. Internships All internship work should be either verified on letter-head of the supervisor or mailed

to above mentioned id from the official id of the company ([email protected]). Mails from different domain name other than the company (for Ex. Gmail.com, yahoo.com etc.) is not allowed.

No B.Tech /Dual Degree/Integrated M.Tech student is allowed to write any internship other than the official one during the period of 3rd year summers.

Internships done during other summer/winter vacations (other than 3 rd year summers) can be written with the dates mentioned.

Any internships taken other than the vacation period (May-July or December) will be considered as work from home or project. The same will need to be specified along with the title.

Any figures (e.g. cost efficiency etc.) reported need to be verified by the supervisor of internship

Any kind of letter received if mentioned; hardcopy of the letter need to be submitted for verification

All students writing foreign internships in their CV’s could be asked to show original Visa of their visits if required.

4. Projects For course projects, no individual verification is required except in cases where figures or

efficiencies are reported it need to be submitted on the letter head of professor stating the same.

If any individual/group project is done other than course projects, it needs to be supported by relevant letter-head by the concerned professor or mail to above mentioned id stating all the work which is written in resume.

For group projects, single letter head or single mail from the professor stating individual contributions will be accepted if required.

5. Publications/ Patents/Conferences Any submitted papers/conference reports or filed patents which are under review cannot be included in the resume

Accepted/ published papers/ conferences and patents can be included with their status as accepted or published mentioned along with title

6. PORs For almost all the POR’s, points are to be sent by the professor in-charge of the

concerned Club/Board. No individual submissions for the same shall be entertained. For the current POR holders, in case the students does-not perform the stated/verified

activities in the due time he/she will be required remove the points. Any position which is not related to IIT Delhi, has to be supported with a letter-head

from the concerned authority. Nucleus Coordinators of T&P need to mention their department along with for which

they were selected as nucleus.

7. Extra-Curricular Activities – All inter-hostel/intra-hostel participation have been received by wardens of hostels. No individual submissions shall be entertained in this regard.

8. Foreign Exchange: Only those students who actually went for foreign exchange are allowed to mention it. Others selected students who did not accept it will not allowed to mention the same.

9. Mino r Degree You can only mention a minor degree when:

You have register for minor degree on the official Campus1 portal You have registered for 20 credits by 7th (B.Tech)/ 9th (Dual) semester or completed the

requirements. It has to be supported by a letterhead from UG section and the screenshot of the minor

degree specialization registered on campus1 site as well.

10. Any rank or selection should be quoted only with personal rank and not catering to the number of candidates involved in taking that examination or participating in event. Any such words like among X/ out of X/ X of Y selected etc. phrases are not allowed until relevant certified proof stating the same is attached.

Example. 1 out of 500 candidates selected as a part of X program is not acceptable

Note: For Foreign exchange students, you can only write 1 of X selected from IIT Delhi for__ (if required). Where X represents the total number of students who went for foreign exchange that year from institute. Other figures are not acceptable.

11. No alterations in any form of information provided in the certificates will be allowed. Ex. Olympiad Names should be written as mentioned in the certificates

12. TA scholarship should not be quoted as an award.

13. Contact details are not allowed to be written in any part of CV

14. Any form of UG/PG section related points (other than Department Rank or Department change or Foreign Exchange) need to be supported by the signed letter-head/certificate from the section.

15. Any kind of figures for budget/sponsorship cannot be quoted in the CV. Any other figures (For ex. Number of events etc.) of any kind will need verification of related kind.

16. Technical skills need not require any verification.

At the time of verification no further additions would be allowed. No documents will be accepted after the deadlines.
