1.1 Location of manufacturers rating plate

The manufacturer´s rating plate is located as above. The conveyor is identified as being of type 304-101, serial number 10XX.

1.2 The design of the conveyor

The bale conveyor is intended for location after Semi mobile press, to receive bales and transport them further. The conveyor is provided with chains and dri-vers. The transport of the bales is controlled from the press computer.

The space between the bales can be varied for conve-nient handling subsequently by different types of mach-ines. The movement of the bales can also be controlled by radio from a portable hand-held transmitter. When the conveyor is full, the complete installation is emer-gency-stopped automatically.

1.3 Hydraulics

The bale conveyor is driven by hydraulic power from the hydraulic pumps of the press installation. The hydraulic hoses are connected to the corresponding hydraulic hoses on the press by means of quick-release couplings.

1.4 Electric system

The electrical system of the installation is assembled together with the hydraulics in a cabinet mounted on the press. The power supply cable is connected to a 200V . The main power switch is located on the electric cabi-net.

1.5 Operating devices

Manual control unit

The movement of the bales on the conveyor can also be controlled by radio from a hand-held transmitter.

This unit has four buttons. The bales are transported for-ward when the (blue) is held depressed. (See the baler instructions for further details).

Control panel

The bale conveyor is controlled automatically by the PLC. The spacing of the bales on the conveyor can be varied by adjusting the time for the off-loading of bales. See the instruction “Control functions; Settings”.

The conveyor can also be reversed in the manual pro-gram of the press "Start/stop in manual mode”, see the baler instructions.

2.1 General

The operators of the installation are to read, understand and follow the warnings and instructions regarding safety to satisfy the requirements for safety and health in the use of the machine.

The semi-mobile bale conveyor, art.no. 304-101, is intended to receive wrapped bales from the BALA-baler art.nr. 202-105. All other use of the product or connec-tion to other products is forbidden

Flexus Balasystem AB accept no responsibility for the resof any modifications, changes, or reconstructions of the product performed by others. Spare parts not in accor-dance with our specification may not be incorporated in the machine.

2.2 Danger zone

The entire conveyor is to be considered a danger zone because of the movement of the drivers and the heavy bales. Entry to the conveyor during operations is there-fore forbidden.

The danger area also extends to the area where the wheel loader or similar is unloading bales from the con-veyor.

Warning!

There are moving parts in the conveyor such as chain drives, gear wheels and heavy bales.

The conveyor is to be approached by the operator only, and only after he has deactivated the installation and retains the key of the control panel and placed the sign ”Do not start - maintenance in progress” over the con-trol panel.

The conveyor automatically starts transporting bales without warning.

No person is to remain in the unloading area while the conveyor is transporting bales.

2.3 Safety functions

A fixed protective cover is located over the gear wheels and chains at the end of the conveyor. This is supple-mented with a safety bar, pressure on which activates an emergency stop. This pressure must be released before the installation can be restarted.

Warning!

The conveyor may only be operated if the protective devices are in place and functional.

2.4 Noise

The noise level measured in tests does not exceed 85 dB A. For further details, see ”The BALA press - an Intro-duction”.

1. During transport, the bale conveyor is to be upper-most in the load. Lift off the conveyor and place it adjacent to the wrapping unit of the press (there are tracks on the conveyor to permit handling with a fork lift truck). The side of the conveyor toward the wrapping unit is provided with hooks which engage in corresponding slots in the press construction.

2. The bale conveyor is to be installed on a solid and even base. The adjustable feet of the supports permit adjustment to the height of the roller table of the bale piler.

3. The hydraulic hoses are connected to the hydraulic packet with quick-release couplings.

4.1 Tensioning of chains

Check after each 50 hours of operations that the chains are intact and have the correct tension. The chains are to be adequately tensioned and released from the plastic slide bar 0.5-1m before the chain drive.

Tighten the chains if necessary. NOTE! Both chains should have the same degree of tension. * if the machine is in operation, stop the installation, turn the key to ”0”. Remove the key from the control panel and retain it, lock the cover if necessary. * remove the cover over the chains at the end of the conveyor. 1. Loosen the nuts which hold the bearing brackets. 2. Tighten the tensioning screw until the chains are ade-quately tensioned. Check that the chains are not in con-tact with the lower beam and that the tension in both chains is the same. 3. Tighten the nuts (1) on the bearing bracketsIf the chains cannot be tensioned sufficiently in this way, a link can be removed from each.

4.2 Lubrication

The bearing brackets are lubricated in the factory but can be lubricated with grease once annually. Use grease type SHELL Alvania EP2 or SHELL Retinax EP2.

4.3 Oil level

Check the level of the oil in the gearbox after each 200 hours of operations and top-up as necessary with oil of type ISO VG 220.
