Queer History at MHC "Persistence and Existence: LGB Organizations at Mount Holyoke College Through History," curated by Jennie Ochterski (’15), brings light to the numerous histories of queer culture on our campus and explores the necessary change over time that lesbian, gay, and bisexual student orga-nizations have undergone at Mount Holyoke.

Carrel Competition Inspired by the popularity ofdystopian �ction like The Hunger Games and Divergent, in Fall 2014 library study carrels will beassigned based on students’ ability to hold their place in line while being attacked by mutantsquirrels. Special thanks to the Biological SciencesDepartment for making this possible, and maythe odds be ever in your favor!

Going Medieval To further enhance LITS’ castle-like decor, this summer Facilities Management will dig a moat around the building and install a drawbridge in place of the front door. Also, a dra- gon will be imported to guard a new “treasure room” in the Archives. Thereafter we recommend that students wishing to visit Archives do so VERY quietly, carefully and bearing gold for the dragon.

Future Phantom Inresponse to requests for a library ghost, a LITS employeehas generously volunteered tohaunt the premises upon herdemise. Said employee regrets thedelay, but chooses to remainanonymous until her natural death lest anyone try to hasten her joining the spirit world.

MEWS Zoo Once again living up to its multi-purpose nature (and its nickname), the MEWS willbe adding a petting zoo/science project! Take abreak from the stress of your homework to pet kittens, bunnies, ducks and a donkey while hook-ed up to equipment monitoring your vital signsand brain waves. Relax and advance Psychologyand Neuroscience research at the same time!

New ISIS, New Name This spring an update willbring a new look to ISIS! To mark the occasion, we invite you to vote for a new name for the system from among these other an- cient Egyptian goddesses: Bastet, Ma’at, Nephthys, Hathor, Sekh- met, Seshat and Tefnut. We’ll �gure out what acronym the winner stands for later.
