Installing Tunneling on 2008 server with IIS To start we need to
make sure that the Tunnel.dll was installed on the server when
QlikView was installed. Please check at C:\Program
Files\QlikView\Server for a folder call QvTunnel and if it is there
check to make sure QvsTunnel.dll is installed there. If it isnt
there you will have to install it by running the QlikView installer
again. Run the installer and on the Program Maintenance page click
Modify and next. Then under Microsoft IIS Support select the
QlikviewTunnel ISAPI dll and in the drop down This feature, and all
subfeatures, will be installed on local hard drive.
After this is installed you will need to setup IIS. For
Microsoft IIS 7: open the Internet Information Services Manager,
select the IIS top node. Open theISAPI and CGI Restrictions dialog.
Choose Add in the Actions pane and browse to the location of
QVSTunnel.dll. Give the instance a description and make sure to
check Allow extension path toExecute.
Now open the site that should host the QlikView Server/Publisher
pages and click on Scripts, then open the Handler Mappings dialog.
Locate the ISAPI-dll and choose Edit Features Permission in the
Actions pane. Check Execute in the dialog that opens.
How you are ready to test it to see if the installation is
correct. Open IE and enter the following URL.
http://localhost/scripts/qvstunnel.dll?test You can also test this
from a client machine also, but you would have to use the server
name or FQDN to do it.If everything is installed correctly you
should get the below in you IE window.
Trouble shooting.If you notice in the below image the blue
around the original URL and in this case it is http://wbritt.net.
Below in the body look at the red box and you see that the Plugin
is trying to use the server name qvp://QV11 and not wbritt.net
(look at the green box). The issue is there is not a FQDN in the
Link Machine in the QVS settings.
In the below I need to put in wbritt.net. I do not need to add
http or anything else to it.
You also need to check the Config.xml file to make sure it is
correct in it.
