Installing Java Updates for Windows 

1. Go to http://www.java.com and click “Do I have Java?” 

   

2. Check to see which version of Java you currently have. 

  

** If you see the following screen, please be patient ** 

  Your current Version is displayed in the middle of the page.  

• If you have Java 6 Version 11, you will be brought to a Congratulations page. 

       

3. If you do not have Java 6 Version 11, please go back to the home page http://www.java.com and click on “Free Java Download” 

  

4. If you have Internet Explorer, you will be prompted with the following verification screen: 

   If you have Mozilla Firefox, please save the file first: 

  

5. Please read the License Agreement, and click Accept:

    

6. If you have Internet Explorer, UNCHECK the “Install the new MSN Toolbar” option. Then hit Next:

 

If you have Mozilla Firefox, UNCHECK the “Yahoo! Toolbar for Firefox/Mozilla” option. Then hit Next:

  

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

7. Wait for the installation screen to finish. Then “Restart” your browser: 

  

8. Uninstall any older versions of Java Runtime Environment. Go to “Add Remove Programs” in your Control Panel (if you have Windows XP) or “Programs and Features” (if you have Vista) and remove all older versions of Java Runtime Environment.
