Installing Certificate

If you use your personal, non-MMC computer or have a Mac, you will need to install Encryption

Certificates in order for your computer to be trusted by the MMC VPN server.

For Windows Machines:

Downloading the Certificates

1. Go to https://intranet.mmc.edu/departmental-services/finance/oit-services/index.html and

login with your network credentials.

2. Once logged in, click on Meharry Certs. For Windows. This will download the required

certificates to your computer in a .zip format.

Installing the Certificates

1. Open the zipped folder containing the certificates

2. Select Open on the Intermediate .cer file in the zip folder

3. Once the Certificate properties are open, select “Install Certificate”

4. Select Local Machine and Click Next

5. Select “Place all certificates in the following store” and select Browse

6. Select Intermediate Certificate Authorities and click ok

7. Select Finish and repeat the installation steps for The Root Certificate

For Macintosh Computers

Downloading the Certificates

1. Go to https://intranet.mmc.edu/departmental-services/finance/oit-services/index.html and

login with your network credentials.

2. Once logged in, click on Meharry Certs. For Macs. This will download the required certificates to

your computer in a .zip format.

Installing the Certificates

1. Open the zipped folder containing the certificates

2. Double click the certificate and add it to the “system” keychain

3. Double Click the Certificate again to open “Keychain Access”

4. Double-click the certificate labeled “Meharry Root SHA2 CA” to open “Get Info”

5. Change the trust settings to Always Trust
