2.1 Requirements The following conditions must be met before carrying out the update.

1. Laptop or other end device with USB interface enabled 2. USB stick 3. Updater tool: ECOR_MHCupdater_V0_7_5_1.exe 4. Updater tool user rights 5. Access to TDC service portal 6. Configuration for the corresponding elevator to be updated

The following preconditions are important for error handling.

For V0.7.5, there is a service tool ECOR MHC Tool V2.2 Download path: http://www.thyssenkrupp-elevator-eli.com/de/downloads/ecor-steuerung!

All installations < V0.5.8 must be updated to V0.5.8 before the update to V0.7.5.

NOTE

Software. As of V0.6.5, the software is kept in our information portal ELI (www.thyssenkrupp-elevator-eli.com). The software is in a zipped exe file that has to be installed on a USB stick.

Please save the existing settings and create a backup before you update the MHC software. In addition, you must use the TCM Manager to read out and back up the MC3 data.

For the update to V0.7.5, you need a new config file which you can request via Technical Support.

Refer to note.



2.2 Downloading the V0.7.5 software The following steps describe the download process for the software:

1. Go to www.thyssenkrupp-elevator-eli.com and log in to ELI.

2. Select "Downloads" in the left-hand navigation menu

You are now on the ELI download page

3. Select E.COR Updates under the heading "Updates E.COR Control System" on the download page.

You will now be shown the download options for the selected point.

4. Select download – E.COR MHCupdater V0.7.5.1.exe dialogue box opens to save or open a zip file.

5. Save the exe file in a directory of your choice.

Once you have run the update to V0.7.5, it is not possible, nor is it allowed for technical safety reasons, to reset the MHC system to a previous version (0.5.8 or 0.6.0)

2.3 Download the configuration pack for the update on E.COR V0.7.5 To use the Service Portal, you must have your CENE user registered for configuration preparation. Please contact TKAW Field Support.

The following steps describe the preparation process for configuration via the Service Portal. You can perform this process at your branch or elsewhere.

Log in to the service portal at address xxxxxxxx (address is given in CW 19). Your CENE user is provided for this purpose.

Read and confirm the conditions for use and the regulations by ticking the corresponding check box and clicking on "Close".

Select the "Change config" tile.



Enter the system number (equipment number) in the system search field.

If you do not have the complete number to hand, enter the first few digits of the

system number and press "Enter" to display a list of systems which match this number.

Once you have selected the correct system, please check the information provided.

In particular, make sure that the information on using the module and the software version are correct and match. To obtain the correct configuration for the update to V0.7.5, both fields must display "E.COR v0.7.5". (E.COR Controller) is also shown in the software version window. This note indicates the use for the E.COR control system. If the information does not match, please make sure you have selected E.COR V0.7.5 in the software version. If you are unable to make any corrections here, please contact THAW Field Support.



If the information is correct, please click on "Request configuration package".

The configuration package is then automatically sent to your ThyssenKrupp e-mail address. You will see a progress bar.

Wait until the configuration preparation process is complete before starting your next action or closing the window. This process may take a few minutes.

The successful preparation for the configuration is then confirmed by the Service Portal.

You will immediately receive an e-mail with the necessary configuration file

and assignment of the most important data such as software version, system number, codeword for the order, to this file.



After receipt of the email, or before an update of the system, please check the file description for the configuration. The configuration file for a E.COR V0.7.5 Update looks like this1: System number_2_Date of creation (YYYYMMDD)_System time_TDC.tar.gz It is important in order for the update to be successful that the configuration is given the correct system number followed by the number 2. (Shown in bold in the example above) If this is not the case for your file, please contact TKAW Field Support before the update.

2.4 Preparing the USB update tool - Running the MHC updater (with MHC software status < V0.7.5) The following steps guide you through the update process:

1. Run the exe file ECOR_MHCupdater_V0_7_5 on your computer.

The installation starts with selection of the installation language.

2. Select the desired installation language in the drop-down menu

3. Confirm your selection with OK.

4. Check the version details (MHC_SYSTEM) that are installed with the update. The illustration shows an example of the updater for version V0.7.5.

5. If the version details are correct, confirm with "Next".



6. Enter the MAC address (see label on MHC printed circuit board) and the system number. As of version V0.6.0, you will also find the MAC address in the display under "Operating data network".

7. Select the "Restore from backup file" mode to restore the configuration.



8. Please select the TDC.zip or TDC.tar.gz file (for your system number).

9. Confirm the selection with "Next" and follow the instructions in the tool.



10. Install the file directly on the USB stick (e.g. E:\ ). Do not select a subfolder on

your USB stick.

11. Click the "Install" button

Wait for the completion notification



2.5 Preparing the USB update tool - Running the MHC updater (with MHC software status V0.7.5) The following steps guide you through the update process:

1. Run the exe file ECOR_MHCupdater_V0_7_5 on your computer.

The installation starts with selection of the installation language.

7. Select the "Restore from local MHC system" mode to restore the configuration.

8. You will be asked whether the values entered are correct. Please check them

again.



9. Confirm the selection with "Next" and follow the instructions in the tool.

10. Install the file directly on the USB stick (e.g. E:\ ). Do not select a subfolder on

your USB stick.

11. Click the "Install" button.

12. Wait for the completion notification

2.6 Updating MC3 Update the MC3 software (full version)

The software is on the USB stick path: MC3_software\full

After the update, run AF0D.



There is no longer a variant and selection option for a restricted version of MC3 for E.COR V0.7.5. This has not been fitted in conjunction with E.COR systems.

After updating the MC3 software, check the whether any additional programs are present. If an additional program is present, check that it is working



2.7 Updating the E.COR software Before updating the E.COR system, it is worth noting the most important parameters and system settings. The following values should be noted separately so they can be used to restore the system if necessary:

System data:

- E.COR system number

- MAC address

Landing information, e.g.

- Stopping positions of landings

Load measurement data such as:

- Spring travel of load measurement

- Shortweight rope factor in load measurement

- Difference between top and bottom landing in load measurement

Teleservice data

For a smooth update process, check the following information before the starting the update.

1. If you see "Error message XY", please contact TKAW Field Support … If you have a different hardware version, please contact TKAW Field Support.

2. Configuration package: The configuration package must match E.COR V0.7.5. The file name can be used to find this matching version. System number_2_Date of creation (YYYYMMDD)_System time_TDC.tar.gz

Follow the steps below for the actual update process.

1. Move the elevator until the car is at the level of the landing.

2. Engage electrical recall.

3. Insert the USB stick in the MHC.

4. Wait until the message "Remove USB-Device" appears in the display.

5. Remove the USB stick.

E.COR is "restarted".



6. Reboot MHC. (Press and hold down S1 and S4 for at least five seconds.)

2.8 Checking the hardware after the update Sensor for magnet at the speed governor pawl:

Check the setting.

The magnet works without delay

Both possible positions are reliably detected by the sensor, pawl pulled up and released.

Due to sleep mode (present as of V0.6.5), the magnet is without voltage; on reactivation of the control system, the return message of the sensor must not contain any errors.

2.9 Testing teleservice Reinitialise the teleservice system, then carry out the emergency call test.

Applicable only in France: After the software update to V6.5.5 you must change the telephone number for the teleservice to the correct telephone number before the teleservice is initialised. If you fail to do this, calls are automatically generated to the French fire service.

3 Error handling

The following descriptions are intended as a guide to error handling in different cases.

To ensure that errors can be traced and to enable feedback information, please report any difficulties which you experience to TKAW Field Support.

3.1 E.COR is in Fallback Mode If E.COR is in Fallback Mode after the update, we recommend the following steps to get the system running again.

1. Copy the automatically generated back-up file from the USB stick onto your computer before the update.

2. Delete the defective run time data using Field Tools (Section 3.6.2 – Restoring defective run time data– or see Annex)

The E.COR activates and starts in installation mode

3. Enter the elevator specifications manually.

Landing data, load measurement data, teleservice (as recommended in 2.7)

If the E.COR does not start in installation mode, but instead returns to Fallback Mode, for systems from V0.6.5 it is still possible to downgrade to this version.

Inform Field Support

Downgrade the system as follows. (only works for systems from V0.6.5 and higher)

1. Load the backup file which has been saved separately via Field Tools (Field Tools V2.2 )

2. Load the old updater (corresponding E.COR version).

3.2 Elevator software does not start up after update If the start screen text "Please wait while loading the system" is still displayed after 2-3 minutes, there is a problem starting the E.COR software.

In this status, you cannot use the display keys.

To restart E.COR from this status (restart via the display key does not work in this status), please carry out the following steps taking into consideration the corresponding safety regulations.

1. Remove the cover from the MHC.

2. Disconnect the 24 V voltage supply and the storage battery from the control system.

3. Switch on the power.

When you switch on the power, the MHC starts up again normally.

4 Appendix

4.1 Restoring system data

4.2 Downgrading systems - restore A backup and/or TDC configuration package can be loaded in order to do this. To restore previously backed up system configurations, it is necessary when installing the tool to specify the file which is to be reloaded in the system. The following dialogue window can be opened with the "..." button in order to do this:



The corresponding file – which must be in the *.tgz or *.mca format – can now be selected here. To restore a previously backed up TDC configuration package, it is necessary when installing the tool to specify the file which is to be reloaded in the system. The following dialogue window can be opened with the "..." button in order to do this:



The corresponding file – which must be in the *.zip, *.tgz or *.mca format – can now be selected here. The system software is stopped and, if necessary, the module restarted during the restore process. You can specify a TDC configuration package and a backup file simultaneously. In this case, the system-specific run time data (load measurement, teleservice, operating counter, installation mode) are restored. The backup version must always be at least one version lower than that of the TDC configuration package ( e.g.: TDC: 0.7.5 → Backup: 0.7.0/0.6.5/0.5.8)

NOTE

System configuration of the E.COR control system. Manual processing of the saved system data may result in the loss of the entire system configuration and/or system availability

The E.COR control system configuration is in a special format and may not be manually processed.

This should only be applied in exceptional circumstances. NOT POSSIBLE FOR versions below V0.6.5.

To downgrade a software version, you can use this tool to load a TDC or backup file and then proceed with the corresponding updater. Example: V0.7.0 is to be reset to V0.6.5. 1. Load the TDC or backup file to version 0.6.5 with this tool. 2. The version 0.6.5 updater is required to load the version.

4.3 Restoring defective run time data

The special tools can be used to delete/restore various defective configurations.

Deletes current run time files elevatorOpData.xml and, from v0.7.0, → Operation.xml and Config_MMS.xml. Note: All operating data counters are reset and software starts in "Installation mode" (build phase).
