HZ Installations: The HZ Pickups will work with either 250K Ohm or 500K Ohm pots (Audio Taper) and a tone capacitor value of .047 microfarad. 500K Ohm pots provide a slight up-shift of resonant frequency and approx. 3dB more gain at resonance and are recommended for Dual-Coil Pickups. A note about string grounding: Although the EMG-HZ Pickups are shielded, they still require string grounding, especially the A(Alnico) models. String grounding uses your body as a shield to help in reducing hum and buzz from the pickup. It also can create a shock hazard due to mis-matched polarities. Be sure to make sure your guitar is electrically in phase with any microphones as well as other players instruments.
