How to use this guideTake your kitchen plan and count each of the major components as described on the following pages. You can then add all of these together to form an estimate of the installation cost.
The hipages.com.au network is an easy way to access or enquire about dedicated tradespeople to install your new IKEA kitchen. All tradespeople are independent of IKEA and control their own pricing and installation working processes. This guide has been produced by taking pricing indications from hipages suppliers for a standard kitchen installation.

2 Fitting your new benchtop
3 Plumbing in your new sink and tap
4 Connecting your new appliances
5 Removing your old kitchen
Note: As every kitchen is unique the cost of installations may vary depending on individual circumstances. The prices can only be used as a helpful estimate for the cost of kitchen installation and should not be relied on as a quotation.
The best way to avoid any surprises when you receive your bill is ensure you receive a written quote from your tradesperson prior to commencing your kitchen installation. Always verify which licenses are required as specialist trades must be licensed regardless of the cost of the work.

1What is included?• Assembly and installation of METOD frames, basic
cutting, trimming and shaving (pipes and outlets).• Securing cabinets to the wall and making level for
benchtop installation.
What can increase/decrease the price?• The number and type of specific cabinets
e.g. carousels, wall cabinets, pantries and pullouts.• The number of doors and drawer fronts, interior
fittings, cover panels, moulding, filler panels, knobs/handles.
What is included?• Cut benchtop to size and all necessary cut-outs for sink
and cooktop. • Join and secure benchtop to cabinets and all required
water seals.
What can increase/decrease the price?• Type of cut – full mitre, mason’s mitre and butt join.
What you need to be aware of• Custom-made stone benchtops are installed by the
fabricator.• Custom-made stone or glass splashbacks are installed

What is included?• Preparation, installation and sealing of the sink.• Assembly and connection of tap.
What can increase/decrease the price?• Any movement of the sink or tap from their existing
location.• If there is more than one sink or tap to be connected.
What you need to be aware of• Any plumbing work is required to be done by a licensed
plumber.• Additional charges for call out fee and materials may apply.

4What is included?• Assembly of rangehood and mounting to the wall,
ceiling or cabinet.• Fitting and securing of all appliances into locations.• Fit and seal cooktop into the benchtop.
What can increase/decrease the price?• Connection of ducting for rangehood.• Any movement of appliances from existing location.
What you need to be aware of• Gas and electrical appliances require a licensed
tradesperson to install.• Additional charges for call-out fee and materials
may apply.
What is included?• Disassembling and removal of existing kitchen cabinets
and benchtop.• Disposal of existing kitchen.
What can increase/decrease the price?• Correct disposal of appliances and any dangerous materials.• Location and/or accessibility of kitchen and/or removal bin. from

• Shape of the kitchen. Straight-line kitchens generally cost the least to install, while island, galley and corner kitchens increase the installation cost.
