1/ Introduction

Overview All the modules of neoTextil 8 are installed and activated in the same way. This manual guides you through these two processes, Installation and Activation, and provides an extensive list of possible activation errors and instructions as how to deal with them.

New features This version of neoTextil 8 provides the following new features:

• Update New option to check for new model versions available to download

• Activation with UUID format Support for UUID activations without dongle

2/ Installation

The process of neoTextil 8 Photoshop® Plug-ins installation is very fast and easy, and it has to be done with Adobe® Extension Manager in both system platforms, Macintosh and Windows. If you don’t have it, please install in your computer the program compatible with your Photoshop version: https://www.adobe.com/exchange/em_download/

The installer of neoTextil 8 is a file with an .zxp extension. You may obtain this file purchasing a module or a pack of modules, or downloading it from Inèdit’s website http://www.inedit.com/en/download/neotextil_8.

Adobe® Extension Manager Installation With Adobe Extension Manager you can manager installation of plug-ins and panels (CS6 & CC).

Plug-Ins

Panels

Open the Adobe® Extension Manager and click on Install:

Select the installer file with an .zxp extension and follow instructions until it is installed in the Adobe® Extension Manager.

• Photoshop CC 2014 For the CC 2014 version will be used the HTML5 Panel for nT 8 Step&Repeat, a file with an .zxp extension. With the installer installation in Adobe® Extension Manager, the panel will be installed in the correct locations automatically.

• Photoshop CS 6 & CC The Flash Panel of nT 8 Step&Repeat is a file with an .zxp extension. You may obtain this file purchasing a module or a pack of modules, or downloading it from Inèdit’s website http://www.inedit.com/en/download/neotextil_8. The installation process is the same as for neoTextil 8 the Plug-ins. In Adobe® Extension Manager select the panel with extension .zxp and click on Install.

Once this installation steps are done, you are ready to Activate the plug-in in Adobe Photoshop®.

Other Installation Manually installation is required to move and copy the contents of the .zxp installer using third party application as freeware StuffIt Expander: http://my.smithmicro.com/stuffit-expander-mac.html. Please download the freeware application in order to expand the contents of nT 8 installer. Another option is that Inèdit provide you ZIP file of the contents.

Follow the next instructions corresponding to your operating system to install the installer contents in Adobe Photoshop®.

Macintosh

Manual installation of nT 8 Plug-ins Expand or unzip the installer and rename the unzipped folder based on the version number you have purchased from “com.inedit.nT8.X.X.zxp” to “nT8”, as an identification protocol for a manual installation.

Move the new folder to the Photoshop® Applications Plug-ins folder:

Manual installation of the panel in mac system is to move the unzipped folder to /Library/Application Support/Adobe/CEP/extensions/

Manual installation of nT 8 Plug-ins Expand or unzip the installer and rename the unzipped folder based on the version number you have purchased from “com.inedit.nT8.X.X.zxp” to “nT8”, as an identification protocol for a manual installation.

Manual installation of the FLASH panel in Windows system is to move the unzipped folder to C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\CEP\extensions\

If you click on Download Update the homepage opens the homepage automatically where you can download the latest version.

3/ Activation

Activation Types neoTextil supports two options of activation: USB protection (dongle) and UUID (Universally unique identifier).

USB protection (dongle)

UUID format

The dongle is a hardware device that you can connect to a computer's parallel or USB port. neoTextil is authorized to run on that computer as long as the dongle remains connected. This is useful if you frequently need to use neoTextil on different computers and do not want to activate the program on each of them.

This dongle will activate the program when provided an .XDAT file, or the activation code is introduced in the required field. Place the USB protection in a USB port, and proceed to open neoTextil modules.

Activations with UUID format do not require to plug-in any hardware devices. It will use an unique identifier number that will activate the program when provided an .XDAT file, or the activation code is introduced in the required field.

nT Activation Manager

The Activation process is a one-time action. Plug in the neoTextil dongle and run Photoshop.

Click on File | Automate and then click on nT Activation Manager 8.0…:

You will access the Product activation dialog. The Activation Manager recognises the number of dongle (65xxxxxxx), which is shown in the Personal Code field.

Using UUID activation it will show the unique identifier number of 10 digits.

If you have more than one dongle plugged in the computer, you will be able to select the one you want to activate:

You can check if the dongle or the UUID number and the Personal Code coincide, by pressing on the information icon next to the Personal Code:

Tip: If the activation responds error codes, please refer to the list of common activation error codes in Appendix of this documentation.

Next, type your personal data with an user and company name on the given fields. This information is merely for your own record and has no purpose in the activation process:

Finally, enter the Activation code, which will be loaded by default with the .xdat file, that Inèdit will also provide you via email or in a USB memory, together with the installer and documentation about the Photoshop Plug-ins.

Select the field Activation Code, press on the Load button and choose the .xdat file. The activation will process automatically:

Optionally, if you have received the activation code you can type or copy-paste the code and press the Activate button:

Demo version Demo versions are activated without dongle or Activation code and allows you limited functionality. Still, you need to install the program with the Adobe® Extension Manager or others.

In Photoshop, click on File | Automate and then click on one of the neoTextil 8 Plug-ins which you want to try, as example nT Colorations.A new dialog appears and ask you to activate. If you want to start with Demo version, press No.

Yet another dialog pops-up, indicating that you will run a Demo version with some limited functions:

4/ Activation Errors - Permissions

Activation Errors - 5000, 999 or - 9999 are user permission errors and occurs even with administrator permissions. It is required to change the permissions in users shared folder. The reason is no permissions to create the folder Inèdit Software (with è) and belonged activation file InSwActivation.xdat . In this chapter we are now going to show how to solve the activation problem for system platform Macintosh and Windows.

Macintosh

Click the folder to select it. From the File menu, select Get Info. Check that the permissions are assigned correctly to all users with Read & Write. If not, click on the permission where you can change it and apply changes to folder contents.

Open a finder windows and go to /Users/Shared/Inèdit Software folder. Click the folder to select it.

Windows Ask Inedit Software for compressed Inèdit Software Empty.zip file and place it manually in C:\Users\Public\Documents and execute. This folder includes an empty InSwActivation.xdat activation file.

Repeat the activation again from nT Activation Manager. Into the empty InSwActivation.xdat the code will be written and activation is proceeded successfully.

Open a finder windows and go to /Users/Shared/Inèdit Software folder. Click the folder to select it.

Run Photoshop.exe (C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS6 (64 Bit) ) as Administrator.

Appendix

Most Common Activation Errors We are now going to list the most common messages and their code. They have been divided in seven tables, according to the nature of the errors. Below them, in orange color, we provide instructions as how to proceed to reach successful activation.

Standard errors

0 Your activation is successful.

1 The dongle update was successful.

-1Mistype error. The code characters mismatch. Reason could be confusing letter “O” instead of number Zero “0”. Please repeat the typing.

-2 Incorrect product. You are trying to active a wrong product . Please check the product.

-3 Incorrect product. You are trying to active a wrong product . Please check the product.

-6Incorrect dongle or hardware. This dongle is incorrect for your activation code or dongle is not found.

-7 Activation is not valid for this version because support is expired . Please contact your dealer.

-8 Temporary activation is expired. Please contact your dealer.

-9 Reactivation of dongle failed or dongle is invalid. Please contact your dealer.

Net dongle errors

code description

-11 The limit of maximum users is reached. Please retry later.

XDat errors

code description

-12 Incorrect .xdat activation file. Please request new .xdat file at your dealer.

-1000 Bad parameters. Please contact your dealer.
