should be loaded onto the CallParrot Server Machine as well as a Portable Computer– The Portable computer is used for initial
configuration of the TALC cards– It is loaded on the CallParrot Server for
future maintenance and configuration changes

System Configuration - Descriptions
• Unit ID - Enter a number from 1 through 255 that distinguishes the TALC you are configuring from all other TALCs connected to the same CallParrot server.
• Node Name - Enter a descriptive name for this TALC (optional).
• CallParrot Feature - Click on the Enable option button if you want to enable the CallParrot voice server to record telephone calls made to ports on the TALC you are configuring.
• CallParrot Server IP Address - Enter the IP address of the CallParrot voice server that records telephone calls from this TALC.
• Per DN Recording - Confirm that the Per DN Recording checkbox is checked if you want to record multiple DNs connected to the same TN (phone).
• Enable DN Discovery - DN Discovery is automatically enabled if CallParrot is enabled. Otherwise, it can be disabled.
• Frequency - Click on the option button that identifies how often you want the TALC to perform DN discovery
• Start DN Discovery - Click on the Start DN Discovery button to initiate an unscheduled DN Discovery.
– Time Choose the time when you want the TALC to perform DN discovery.– Day Choose the day when you want the TALC to perform DN discovery – Date Choose the date when you want the TALC to perform DN discovery – TALC Extension to Dial A unique DN is assigned to port 16 which is used to perform the DN discovery function.

System Configuration - Descriptions
• Symposium Display Format – DNIS Row - Enter the row number for displaying the DNIS on the telephone
display.
– DNIS Offset - Enter the offset number (number of columns counting from left to right) for displaying the DNIS on the telephone display. Valid options are 1 through 24 for the first row of the telephone display. Valid options are 1 through 18 for the second row of the telephone display.
– DNIS Length - Enter the length of the DNIS to display on the telephone display.
– CLID Row - Enter the row number for displaying the CLID on the telephone display.
– CLID Offset - Enter the offset number (number of columns counting from left to right) for displaying the CLID on the telephone display.
– CLID Length - Enter the length of the CLID to display on the telephone display.

IP Configuration - Descriptions
• IP Address - Enter the IP address of the TALC.
• IP Network Mask - Enter the network mask of the TALC.
• IP Gateway - Enter the IP gateway of the TALC.
• Management Disable - Click in the Disable checkbox if you do not want to be able to complete the host PBX administration from the TALC.
• Management IP Address - Enter the management IP address of the host PBX.
• Management IP Mask - Enter the management IP mask of the host PBX.

TALC - Port Configurations (Key Feature & Key Number)
• Key Feature - Select the Key Feature that you want to assign.Valid options are Conversation Save Key, Record Key, Delete Recording Key, and Not Configured.
• Key Number - Select the feature key that you want to assign the Key Feature chosen in the list box to the left. The feature key must be un-configured on the host PBX. Valid options are NC (not configured) and 0 through 75, depending on the Meridian digital telephone model.

TALC Firmware Upgrade 2– Start TFTP Server
• Pumpkin Recommended (free, readily Available)
• Place the TALC Firmware on the computer desktop
• Start Pumpkin• Use the Browse
button to point to the location of the firmware
• Click OK

TALC Firmware Upgrade 3• From the top
toolbar, select Upload/Download– Select “Upload S/W
• A window appears• Enter the IP
Address of the computer being used for the upgrade
• The “Open” button is a “browse” button. Browse to the new firmware .upg file
• Click “Upload”

TALC Firmware Upgrade 4• A new window will open to track the progress of
the upload• Once the upload is complete, the new firmware is
written to Flash Memory• The card must be reset before the new firmware
takes effect• The Configuration Manager Software must now be
upgraded– Using the Add/Remove Programs, remove the TALC
Configuration Manager– Using the method already described in this presentation,
load the new Configuration Manager software to the Computer
