▶ Resume’ Builder for Extracurricular Activities▶ Post on website for easy access
▶Are You an Athlete?▶ Post this question in your office
▶Update the Academic/College & Career Plan▶ Use your tools and resources▶ Stick with the plan of your comprehensive school counseling
program to promote equity and access
THE IMPORTANCE OF CONNECTION
▶As a counselor, being flexible and adaptable is KEY! Every student is different. Every year is different…..
▶Think through the meetings you are about to have… what are the clues you already know that will influence the discussion?
Ex: looking at a transcript, notes from previous meetings…
▶Follow up as you promise to do (of course)▶They may see barriers, try to let them see
opportunity…..▶ EX: student who transferred but did well, a student
with learning differences

BE THAT INSPIRATION BUT DON’T FORGET……▶Self Care is Critical (you can’t do it all….)▶Remember the Role you have within the family
dynamic (temporary and timely)▶School and Policy Limitations▶Be Reflective but keep in mind the purpose that
can help the student (the process of disclosure….)
