New technology for sewing and embroidery that leaves extra room for imagination: the BERNINA 780 E combines innova-tive ideas with a huge amount of space. The extended freearm offers an extra-large work surface for extensive sewing projects. The fast and quiet BERNINA 9 Hook sews high-precision stitches up to 9 mm in width. And the wide selection of embroidery designs are built in for easy editing on the color touch screen. Plus, thanks to the integrated BERNINA Dual Feed, hard-to-manage and fine fabrics can be used so seamlessly that even little daydreams become extraordinary realities.

Designed primarily as a coat, this versatile garment can also be worn as a short jacket
– offering something for everyone.
5410 Fitted coatElegant is the word for this tailored
coat with its fur collar and sleeves, which can be unbuttoned and removed in
a trice for a completely different effect. The open- ended zip can also be
used to attach another skirt section, or simply wear the top part as
a trendy short jacket.
5411 Asymmetric skirt sectionAttach the asymmetric skirt section to the top for a slightly funkier coat. Here the zip
was simply stitched on, highlighting the unfussy look.

You can never have too many scarves. Even with a drawerful to choose from, it can
be hard to nd one that goes with your out t. That’s why we’ve got new ones in cheerful
colours for you, with a matching beret and a clever multifunctional purse.
5425 Needle-punched scarfThe ne mesh material was needle-punched with
wool on one end, following the pattern on the fabric. The sumptuous fringe makes the scarf
a real eye-catcher.
5426 Round scarfA lightweight boiled wool worked in two layers
keeps the wearer beautifully warm. The bold two-way zip makes this trendy circular scarf
universally adjustable.
5427 Your choice – beretOur readers chose their favourite head covering in
the BERNINA Blog, and here it is. The pattern is particularly simple and the fulled fabric also makes the hat quick to sew, since the edges don’t require
neatening.
5428 BroochThe boiled-wool remnants and a few beads are
all you need to create this hat brooch. The badge also lets you pin it to a scarf or coat, if desired.
5429 Mobile-phone wallet/keyringHere you’ve got all the essentials in one place:
money, keys, mobile phone, coins for your shopping cart – what more could you need? For a coordinated
look, the pattern of the fringed scarf was created as an embroidery le and serves both as a decorative
insert for the wallet and as the ap and back of the coin pocket.
ChainActually this chain is a by-product, since our beret
was a bit too big initially. If you’d like to make the chain, cut out the beret approx. 6 cm larger and sew through all the layers with Extra Strong
thread – then simply cut out and decorate.

They may not be much help with the Christmas cookies, but these cute little birds will keep
you company as you get on with your baking.
5440 PinnyWhat better to get you in the mood for
Christmas baking than this spiffy yet practical apron. Although the design was embroidered
in the Jumbo hoop, it can also be split and worked in smaller hoops with multiple
hoopings. The entire cage ts in the Mega hoop, for example. Those who don’t
have an embroidery computer can paint the satin stitches on the fabric and sew them.
In this case, the birds are appliquéd.
5441 PicturesSmall pictures always look great arranged in groups – so go ahead and make a few more
variants. It’s a piece of cake with the software, but you can also achieve attractive effects
simply by varying the colours.
5442 ClockIs that a cuckoo peeking out there?
This may not be a proper pendulum clock, but the little bird is most certainly a cheeky char-
mer. An impressive-looking project that’s deceptively easy to make!
5443 Gift pouchAt last you’re done baking, and it’s time to ll these cheery little gift bags with
the cellophane-wrapped cookies. Roll on Christmas!
