The aim is to increase business opportunities by attracting more frequent clicks from ‘fashionistas’ in need of jewellery accessories, style tips and more. We can proudly say our client who will berevealed in the near future is very happy with progress made so far with the stylish website.

Our commitment to engage with early success in life came to the fore as, WBC collaborated with the Learn toEarn programme by giving students in year 10 at Parliament Hill School, London strategic insights intoopportunities that will propel a solid business and career foundation. The Learn to Earn programme is aimed athelping young people in schools consider and plan for their future prospects in business.

The JADE spring meeting which is one of the biggestannual conferences organised by JADE Europe heldbetween 24th and 27th February 2011 in Brussels, Belgium themed, COLLABORATION.

The Opening Ceremony of the conference was heldwithin the historic premises of the European UnionParliament with key speakers addressing members ofParliament with key speakers addressing members ofthe Junior Enterprise movement. It challenged eachJunior Enterprise present to extend internationalnetwork opportunities, by collaborating with otherglobal junior enterprises.

High point of the spring conference was the declaration of the Annual JADE Excellence Awards winner.Managing Director, Westminster Business Consultants (WBC) Varalaxmi Pillai accompanied by InternationalManager, Kristina Hristozova, gave the final nomination pitch before a panel of impressed judges. WBC won theprestigious award as the most International Junior Enterprise for the second year in a row. This reaffirms thatWBC creates history wherever it goes.

WBC is the only Junior Enterprise to covet this award in two consecutive years first in 2010. WBC was alsoacknowledged for being the first Junior Enterprise to use the J.E.NET service and collaborating with a JuniorEnterprise in Italy. Continuously, WBC is spreading its wings for excellence across the JADE Movement. JADEconference brings together Junior Entrepreneurs from all over Europe and is a perfect way to learn and network.Next stop is the JADE meeting in Marseilles, France from 15th – 17th April,2011. Skills-Hive.com in partnership with WBC is working to increase awareness of freelancing as a potential careerchoice for incumbent students. This involves allocation of short term tasks to make hiring companies more agileand help workers fit schedule around other lifestyle commitments. This approach is ideal for students as it providesan opportunity to gain paid professional experience while in study. Mike Orchard, the man behind the plan aims toenable students broaden their career choices and continuously develop their abilities in their career as freelancers oremployees.

The Pan-European survey is a business research conducted on behalf of the European Commission. It involvesmeasuring levels of satisfaction for business services provided by our client from a selection of company directoryin 80 cities across Europe using telephone questionnaires. WBC is responsible for collecting the data in UnitedKingdom based on exceptional performance on similar projects.

Mehak Wahid is our latest shining star at WBC who follows the trail of Yashraj and Maryana, both celebrated inthe first edition of Insight.

“Being selected as WBC shining star for February has brought great honour and joy to me”, says Wahid. “I am lucky to have such talented and hard working colleagues, who have provided me with much support in theprojects. Encouragement and guidance from the managers has helped hone my personal and professional skills”.

WBC settled for Laura Moore, 22, as its pioneer role model for the period of February toMay, 2011. Laura Moore is an inspiring personality whose professional career started quiteearly. Her first work experience was at a management consultancy where she got involvedwith projects for some global organisations. Laura’s prominence is attributed to anoutstanding performance during her participation in the 2010 season of BBC’s‘The Apprentice’. Currently she is co-founder of three start-up companies and is involvedwith serious projects in fashion and UK media. As role model, Laura is contributing towith serious projects in fashion and UK media. As role model, Laura is contributing toreinforce the importance of entrepreneurship among students while promoting WBC’sconcept of Junior Enterprise and business excellence.

International collaboration is second nature to WBC as it hosted Marisa Andrade Lopes from UCJ Brazil for onemonth exchange programme in January, 2011. The work experience at WBC showcased new perspectives tobusiness development, market research and dynamic organisational culture.

“My work at WBC has contributed to develop my skills, helping to develop the company’s Customer RelationsManagement (CRM) Program was a very challenging task but it was worth it” says Lopes.

Marisa Andrade Lopes has since returned home to share of her fascinating UK exchange experience, but leaves asign post at WBC that reads ‘Do Brasil com Amor’…(From Brazil with Love!).

In January WBC conducted its first team building event for the year. Our business, IT, international exchangeconsultants and Managing Director all engaged in various activities to test their prowess in team work, problemsolving and effective group communication.

Activities included ice breaker, game of numbers and relationship management. “This is not just an organisationbut a family of talented people. It helps develop and strengthen relationships. It also helps you to understandworking with people outside this business environment” says WBC Human Resource Manager, Adeife Bamgbose.
