Thank you for joining us for our May 2018 edition. On the 15th of this month we

experience a New Moon in Taurus. This is a time for us to possibly get our finances in order to start a new exciting project. On the 29th we have a Full Moon in Sagittarius. It is quite possible that many of us may have a profound spiritual experience. We may also see the bigger picture and feel drawn to studying other traditions of some kind.

What would you say to someone who is thinking of having their first psychic reading?

If it’s your first reading, just relax and come with an attitude of openness. It is easy to pre-judge, or to be nervous. I am very welcoming, so don’t worry about the latter - I’m also completely non-judgemental! And I’m equally confident your nerves will disappear as we work on a way forwards for you!

Tell us a story about a reading you gave?

I gave a reading for a lady at an event and before she opened her mouth I said “fairies”. Actually, that was highly relevant and the reading helped her to move forwards with her business - a business that’s all about fairies! J

Do you work with any tools? I.E. Tarot cards, crystals, runes…

I work with tarot. As an expressive, vital tool it is invaluable. It also has a vast history, including an esoteric one that can really help to get to the basis of a person’s presenting issues.

How would you describe your readings?

I am open, honest, and my energy is warm and welcoming. We can even have a giggle at times!

What is your star sign and are you typical of this sign?

I’m a Gemini so there are various sides to me. For example, I divide my professional life between two

very different disciplines: psychic for/healing and Classical music journalism! I think this helps me to achieve balance in my life.

Have you always been psychic or did the ability develop at a certain point in your life?

I have always been psychic (I had a Spirit ‘friend’ when I was a child, all those many years ago!) but I made a definite decision to develop around 15 years ago. I spent years at a psychic College in London, where I have also given a number of readings now as well as giving stage demonstrations of mediumship and angel mediumship.

How long have you been giving telephone readings, and what made you decide to pursue this as a path in life?

I’ve been giving telephone readings for several years now as well as face-to-face. It’s a lovely way to work, I can work from home, and I quite like the fact I can’t physically see the client - it puts the focus on the psychic angle!

What advice or tips would you give to someone who feels they have a “psychic” gift?

Develop! But do so with someone who knows what they are doing. Psychic protection, grounding and entering are inv a lu a b l e a n d n e c e s s a r y techniques you HAVE to have - also you need someone who can introduce you to your Guides, those invaluable helpers in Spirit!

The Emerald is known as the birthstone for May and is known for its beautiful

green tone, which varies in shade from lightest to darkest green. Due to the shade, it is associated with spring, new beginnings and fertility.

Another association of this stone is with Ireland, known as the Emerald Isle and is shown in the icons from that country via the flag, shamrocks, and the outfits of the ‘little people’- the Leprechauns!

It has also entered our language in well-known sayings, ‘the green-eyed monster’, ‘green with envy’ to indicate jealousy. In mythology the goddess Venus was linked with the stone, because of this association it is believed to bring passion and unconditional love. Cleopatra is said to have favoured the Emerald and used it in clothes, jewellery and even crushed it to put into drinks. The Roman Emperor Nero believed that gazing into the stones helped promote calm and peaceful thoughts.

The best Emeralds come from South America and were prominent in Inca culture, so much so that it is believed they worshiped the stones as Gods! Ancient Egyptians

Pharaohs believed that Emeralds contained the essence of eternal life and these stones can be found in their tombs as well as being depicted on the walls of the tombs.

Emeralds have their own cut, which is a style that can be used on all stones, but was designed to show off the facets of the stone to its full brilliance. Emerald cut diamonds feature in high class jewellery, including that belonging to royalty and were said to be a favourite cut chosen by Princess Diana as being seen in her Emerald earrings, which she was photographed wearing many times.

Another quality attributed to the Emerald is that of holding powers to heal – thought to be linked to the shades of nature. Some cultures even have special chants and prayers directed towards the stone. In modern astrology Taurus is aligned with Emeralds and this symbolises patience, love and fidelity. Maybe that is one of the reasons that lovers choose this stone for their engagement rings. However, being a hard stone, care must be taken with it as it is prone to crack or scratch, which is also seen as the reason that some people believe it is an unlucky stone.

One of the hardest things we can ever do when romantically involved

with someone, is to face up the possibility that the person we love may not have our best interests at heart. Admitting to yourself that something is deeply wrong can be a daunting task, even in the earlier stages of becoming a couple.

One of the key things to look out for if you feel uneasy about your relationship is ‘incongruence’ – meaning, what the person says and then actually does doesn’t add up. In psychological circles, this term is explained further by the difference between someone’s awareness and their experience: Are your partner’s feelings aligned with their actions, or not?

We often do ‘know’ when something is wrong. Gut instinct is a key part of our innate intuitive system, telling us when something is ‘off’. We will get a warning feeling about someone if we pay enough attention to our bodies.

Most psychics and mediums who have gone through the development process would tell you how vital it is to be aware of those signals your body is sending you. That’s the most fundamental level of how we do our job!

To cross-check any feelings you have against the reality of the situation, ask yourself, does your partner do any of the following:• Want you to listen to them

• Show irritation when you call them out on that particular thing they said they would do, but haven’t?

• Try to make it ‘your fault’ somehow, suggesting your memor y is f ailing, that things didn’t happen the way you (correctly) recall? This is a phenomenon called “gaslighting”, named af ter a 1944 film about a plotting husband who manipulated his wife into thinking she was losing her mind.

• Display no remorse if you demonstrate with clear evidence that they have done something hurtful, such as spend money on your credit card on romantic gifts that weren’t for you?

If you can identify some of these traits in your partner, I suggest you step back and take some time to view the relationship from a more rational, and less emotional perspective.

We naturally want to give the people we care about ‘the benefit of the doubt’, but if the offending party clearly doesn’t give us the

same regard, we need to assess and change our approach. No-one wants to think they’re being used or lied to, but if you suspect that’s happening, it’s much better to face up to the truth. The sooner you can, the faster you can heal, get stronger and move on.

Ask yourself:• Is your partner really fulfilling

your needs – or are they only invested in their own?

• How often do they really make time for you, or together as a couple?

• What do you want from this relationship as it stands at present? Do you feel that it is realistically possible to get that from your partner in the near future?

• Are there other areas of your life where you are not having your needs met? At work, or with relatives, perhaps? Are you perhaps too kind or forgiving, to a fault?
