New innovation lab proactively demonstrates the benefits of robots in manufacturing Omron has opened a new Robotic Innovation Lab at the company’s UK headquarters in Milton Keynes. The lab, which represents an investment of £600,000 with a creation of five new jobs, is set to demonstrate how robots can be a boon to the UK manufacturing industry, as well as providing customers with a realistic overview of how robots can enhance their own individual applications. Manufacturers across the UK are enthusiastic about the potential of robots to increase productivity and as a solution to the current industry-wide labour shortage. But, at the same time, they are reluctant to make a substantial initial capital investment without assurance that it will provide a definite ROI for their own unique application. The Omron robotics innovation lab provides those customers with a ‘proof-of-concept’ demonstration that will replicate their application in every conceivable detail prior to making any financial commitment. Dan Rossek, Marketing Manager at Omron UK, comments, “Many of the manufacturers that we meet see robots as the ideal solution to the problems they are currently facing, such as difficulties in recruiting qualified, experienced personnel. The new Robotic Innovation Lab provides a platform that can be quickly configured to give an accurate representation of the impact that robots will actually have on the customer’s own production line, as well as allowing us to demonstrate how our other products can be quickly integrated to increase the benefits provided by the robots. The lab also gives us a better understanding of our customers’ needs & provides a powerful tool that helps convert interested leads into satisfied customers.” Contact: Daniel Rossek, Omron Electronics Ltd Direct: 01908 258124 [email protected] Sales: 0870 752 0861 F 01908 258158 [email protected] www.industrial.omron.co.uk The Charles Endirect PoleStar Belisha The Charles Endirect PoleStar Belisha is designed to enhance road safety. Loxit Ltd: Leading designers & manufacturers of technology mount solutionsBusiness and Industry Today is pleased to present Loxit Ltd as our AV & IT Technology Company of the Year. Loxit are proud to be one of the UK’s leading designers and manufacturers of products that secure, mount and manage equipment being integrated into professional environments – solving AV and IT technology problems through original design solutions.

Loxit Ltd featured in our publication only a few short months ago as our AV & IT Technology Company of the Month because of their incredible and innovative AV and IT secure mount and management systems. Following them closely it quickly became clear they’d be our choice for our AV & IT Technology Company of the Year award.

Before we reveal more about Loxit Ltd below and their latest ranges, we had the opportunity to discuss with John Whittle, Director at Loxit Ltd, how things have been for them this past year.

“We’ve been busy! The focus in 2018 has been the release of our new AV furniture product ranges which include the huddle space desking, height adjustable desking and lecterns. We’ve also released the Mobile Magic Carpet interactive floor system and expanded our video wall mount range, with new screen mount products to complement our current electric height adjustable ranges. The Mobile Magic Carpet and Mobile Magic Mirror sees us selling our first plug and play integrated systems, which is really exciting.”

Loxit creates solutions for 4 key product areas:

Electric and fixed display mountsHi-Lo™ electric height adjustable mount solutions for touch screens, video walls, projectors and whiteboards that allow users access to the presentation equipment whilst being able to electrically adjust to the exact height. These are well engineered and incorporate many useful design features such as in built power and cable management. They are used extensively throughout all workplace environments to aid presentations and training, where large and heavy screens must be raised and lowered safely for the optimum working height.

iPad, tablet, laptop charging, data transfer and securityMobile device security and management – Loxit facilitate the roll out of mobile devices across large enterprises, where the security, storage and charging solutions need to provide fast data management within discreet, secure storage. The Future of Loxit LtdWith an uncertain year for the UK with Brexit looming we wanted to ask how Loxit feels about the current market. Being such a successful company and having gone from strength to strength over the years,

it’s no surprise that they have plans in place and are still extensively planning for their future. They recognise clients are the most important aspect of their business and so everything they do is to ensure they can still produce the best quality solutions at the right price. John explains in more detail.

“Brexit has already affected our sector significantly. We are UK manufacturers and as the UK does not produce raw materials any more, we are inextricably tied to the US dollar whose exchange rate fluctuations have had a negative effect on our raw material costs.”

“Brexit will bring challenges and changes for every business. The biggest issue we all face is the uncertainty of the situation. Until such time as there are clear and comprehensive guidelines available it’s difficult to have a definitive plan.”

“We have developed contingencies around the possible outcomes including forward ordering and over stocking at fixed prices, trying our best to be pro-active rather than re-active. But until we have clear and transparent sight of what Brexit will look like, we also remain ‘alert’. We have large stock holdings and facilities to maintain supply, so if there are issues with customs checks and border delays, we have planned ahead, ensuring the continued supply of all our ranges we’re well stocked and don’t foresee any supply disruption for our customers.”

“Our short-term plans for the future are to develop new acoustic insulated meeting spaces for open plan offices. We are already designing modular systems for businesses to easily roll out. These are integrated with unified communications technology.”

“Long-term is more complicated but we are looking at the way we can help improve the health and wellbeing of people in education and the workplace. The integration of tech will become more and more sophisticated, and it’s important that these important services are available to all, whatever

personal physical challenges there may be.”

Finally we like to ask how companies feel when they receive our Company of the Year awards and so that’s exactly what we did.

“It’s great to have our hard work recognised. Individually we often receive good feedback from our customers, which is great, but there’s something special about external bodies recognising what we’re doing. It’s great for the whole team, everyone is passionate about what they do, working together, supporting one another, it’s that collective delivery that has helped us achieve this kind of recognition. We do it because we love it, but when that is formally acknowledged, it’s really nice. Thank you very much.”

I am sure we will be seeing even more of Loxit Ltd in the future, and we shall look forward to keeping a close eye on their newest innovations and products and seeing them grow and expand even further. For more information on the range of products Loxit offer don’t hesitate to visit their website below, and if your need is a little more bespoke then call the friendly expert team who’ll happily talk through your needs and come up with a solution that will exceed expectation.

Khaos Control: Chaos controlledIt is with great pride that Business and Industry Today announces Khaos Control as our clear choice winner of this year’s Business Management Solutions Company of the Year. Khaos Control continues to impress with their powerful, all-in-one solutions for managing inventory, returns, accounts and more. The company continually strives to improve their solutions, based on client feedback, ensuring they remain one step ahead of the competition.

Khaos Control are leaders and innovators in developing business management and e-commerce software solutions aimed at wholesale businesses and multi-channel retailers. Currently they offer four products: Khaos Control; an on-site server-based ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system, Khaos Control Cloud; a complete cloud based ERP system, Khaos Control Web; an e-commerce platform, and finally Khaos Control Hybrid bringing every product together into one feature rich powerful solution.

These systems streamline businesses by providing solutions that are updatable and user-friendly, containing essential features such as order management, back order management, CRM, email manager, pick/pack/despatch, supply chain management, and accounting functions.

Mike Cockfield, the Managing Director at Khaos Control, was talking with a friend who let on that his business needed a better way to manage and control stock. Mike had already dabbled with software development at home for years, and knew he could use his expertise to create a solution; and he did exactly that. In 2000, Mike decided to take his talent, expertise and innovative ideas further. His vision was to deliver powerful, high-quality and feature-rich business solutions enabling them to unlock their full potential, and so Khaos Control was born. 18 years later, Khaos Control now employs over 50 members of staff and is one of the leading providers of ERP solutions in the UK.

Mike and his incredible team constantly strive to add new features, listening to their client’s feedback, ensuring their solutions are always a step ahead of the competition. Khaos Control Cloud is one of the latest additions to the product range, and we had chance to talk with Mike Cockfield about this new solution, and the benefits it boasts over the competition.

“We currently offer customers Khaos Control and Khaos Control Cloud depending on the size of the business. Khaos Control Cloud is not just for those businesses who want to re-act to orders coming in by offering a slick way of processing them and doing the stock management, we also provide them with the necessary pro-active tools they need to grow their business. While our competitors focus solely on integrations to sales channels they miss things like CRM, promotions, drop shipping, backorder management (in terms of auto releasing sales order

for processing), customer returns, bill of material and purchasing tools, along with extensively detailed functionality born from almost 20 years of customer feedback. These features are key to small businesses that want to grow. Khaos Control Cloud also boasts a cutting-edge user interface and is the only ERP system that can be run entirely using a mobile phone. We hope to become a serious contender in the cloud-based order management software market and ultimately sell systems throughout the world.”

Not content with releasing one new product, Khaos Control has also been hard at work developing the Khaos Control Hybrid solution. Hybrid gives clients much greater flexibility and choice, allowing them to select a combination of Khaos Control products; comprising of Khaos Control ERP (for back-office processing and warehouse control), Khaos Control Cloud (for working anywhere at any time), and Khaos Control Web; their ecommerce product.

“Our suite of business management software solutions allows data to be collated within one database to provide real-time information across all platforms, enabling a sales team to access real time inventory, sales order and CRM data on the road – from any device, anywhere. Khaos Control Hybrid establishes the foundation of businesses, combining our award-winning ERP solution, Warehouse Management System, Cloud-based ERP, Marketplace and Channel integration, and powerful e-commerce solution – all driven by a single database.”

The success of Khaos Control is continuing, with a constant influx of new clients and contacts ensuring the growth and stability of the company. This isn’t just attributed to the incredible Khaos Control Solutions product range however as they also have an awareness of what truly matters in making any company successful, which in turn ensures stability and growth from client and employee satisfaction.

“Our business has four values which we believe are important: Customer focused, results matter, teamwork and people before numbers. We also believe that our products can provide Clarity through Control, enabling our customers to clearly see their path to growth. Our success comes from the team. We have a committed leadership team who are all

focused on raising the profile of Khaos Control Cloud. As a company we have strong values and genuinely believe in our people and their development; as such our leadership and structure have remained consistent.”

These values have led to an extremely successful past 12 months for Khaos Control Solutions, which will only spur the team on to continually improve and develop their existing solutions, whilst creating new ones, to remain ahead of the competition.

“The last 12 months have really been fantastic. We are so excited about our new Khaos Control Cloud product, which is already having a huge positive impact on the customers we have using it. Being a new entrant into the Cloud ERP marketplace we have a lot of catching up to do in terms of customer numbers, but we know we have a product which is more than strong enough to compete.”

Brexit is a hot topic currently for obvious reasons and it’s refreshing to hear Khaos Control’s response to how they feel Brexit may affect their business. Mike Cockfield adds, “Brexit needs to happen, and people need to stop trying to sabotage it. We don’t do ourselves as a nation any favours when we can’t commit to a decision and get behind it. Too many people have their own agenda. We need to be proud of our nation and have the courage to forge new and exciting trade agreements with the whole world. I believe in globalisation, but ironically, we need to break away from the EU before we have the flexibly to be truly global. We have no specific plans in place as we don’t import or export, we will have to react to what our customers end up requiring of their systems. Ultimately, we are prepared for the future and whatever happens we will still be here to service our customers and provide a solution for them.”

Finally we asked Mike how he feels in regards to winning our Business Management Solutions Company of the Year award.

“We feel very flattered to have been selected for this award; it’s always nice to be appreciated for your hard work and effort. We feel this is a good opportunity to continue spreading the word of Khaos Control and Khaos Control Cloud and see this as a positive step in achieving our goals.”

Steel Strapping: The right product for the jobWith the strapping of heavy goods playing such a big part in the transportation business, the main question that people tend to ask is – should we use Polypropylene or Steel strapping? Heavy loads being conveyed on

flatbeds and pallets, such as timber, steel I-beams, and heavy building materials, all need the correct choice of strapping to ensure they reach their destination in perfect condition.

Clients want peace of mind that goods will be kept in place no matter how far they’re travelling, and regardless of the weight of their goods. In this situation, Polypropylene strapping may not prove to be the best option – it has

low retained tension, potential to split, is susceptible to environmental factors, and a higher rate of failure when used on extremely heavy products.

Steel Strapping comes with multiple positives, including that the tension is maintained for a long period of time. Steel straps are the oldest, strongest, and highest tensile strength strapping available. They are fully recyclable, and available in a variety of widths and thicknesses, as well as variations in the grade of steel.

As one of the UK’s largest providers of steel strapping, all Samuel Grant Packaging’s strapping experts are trained to be able to provide bespoke strapping solutions to clients, offering conversions and downsizing which can have a positive impact on their bottom line, as well as their environmental impact.

The company is able to offer full tooling support and maintenance, and nationwide support, allowing Samuel Grant to provide strapping as a service, not just as a product, with clients retaining full operational control.

Samuel Grant’s advisors will assess client requirements and use their years of expertise in the field to guide clients to the best products, at the best price, coupled with the confidence of not having to worry about the costs of replacing damaged cargo.

You can find out more about Steel Strapping from one of the biggest packaging suppliers in the UK at: www.samuelgrant.co.uk/strapping-transit-products/

Focus Label: Custom designed label printing & finishing equipment

Here at Business and Industry Today we are delighted to recommend companies that offer an astounding product and service. This is why we are pleased to present Focus Label Machinery Ltd with our Packaging Company of the Month profile.

The company was established in 1981, by Brian Lee, and since then has grown to become one of Britain’s leading press manufacturers of narrow web flexo, digital hybrid, textile and finishing equipment. The company design and produce all of their equipment in-house and export around 70% of their products all over the globe.

In a recent interview with Focus Label’s Business

Development & Marketing Manager, James Thomas, we asked James about Focus Label’s primary business objective. “Our aim is to create a long-term partnership with our customers, both existing and new. We want to offer our customers a fantastic service that begins with an initial consultation that takes them through full project management to inception and beyond.”

It is clear to see that the company hold great importance on the relationship they build up with their customers and partners. So in addition to their world-class service, we also asked James what benefits Focus Label’s products bring to customers that their competitors do not. “We can offer full concept design and manufacture, alongside first-class showroom and training facilities in addition to modular and flexible production tools with an upgrade path for future business plans and opportunities.”

James also told us about some of the company’s popular products, including their d-Flex hybrid inkjet press. The machine is unique in its provision of flexo,

inkjet and converting for single-pass print technology, with an industrial performance that is suitable for high-quality label manufacturers. Additionally, the machine also offers a productive method of creating medium & short run that has been developed in response to the increasing pressure placed on buyers to order fewer labels at regular intervals. The machine has also reduced the need to use service contracts and click charges as the equipment allows users to digitally print labels on an affordable platform.

Furthermore, the company’s e-Flex & Proflex Platforms can combine mono and colour digital engines with additional options to suit specific applications. Innovative safety solutions

Scott Parnell has been integral in implementing innovative products to the rail industry to allow personnel and passengers the safety they expect when at work or commuting.

ArcoSystem is the only elevated GRP trough system that is Network Rail Approved to span 6m between fixings. It is lightweight and robust with a twin-walled profile which allows it to carry huge weights when spaced at its maximum distance. The innovative connection plates allow for installation times up to five times quicker than any other product, massively reducing the time spent on track installing it. This translates into increased safety for the operatives and monetary savings for tax payers.

There are thousands of cabinets housing electrical items. If there is a fault inside these boxes there can be earthing or touch potential issues that can cause harm to those

who come into contact with them. We noticed a gap in the market for a GRP Palisade that would be able to stand up to the rigours of site life whilst also creating a non-conductive barrier around electrical installations. We spent a long time researching the market, liaising with contractors and design engineers to produce TouchSafe®. We have created a highly engineered GRP Palisade that has no metallic components. We have produced it with thicker profiles, a stiffer resin class and UV protection to ensure longevity and confidence in the product. It is lighter in weight that Steel and has no maintenance issues or associated costs such as earthing or bonding. TouchSafe® is supplied with pre-assembled panels for a simple and quick installation and is readily stocked so long lead times are a thing of the past.

Fast evacuation times for more packages per dayEveryone is talking about deceleration, but not the new rotary vane vacuum pump, which Gebr. Becker GmbH exhibited at the FachPack trade fair from 25-27 September 2018 in Nuremberg. Thanks to the shortest pump-down times, the Becker U 5.300 increases efficiency and productivity and at the same time reduces process costs. The new vacuum pump is thus a targeted response to the demands of our time.

The worldwide demand for freshly packaged food is increasing.

The growing challenges that food packaging has to deal with due to this trend also place enormous demands on modern machines. This calls for even more efficient packaging processes and the development of increasingly productive plants and systems that, for example, package meat, sausage and cheese faster in vacuum packaging, or keep fish and seafood fresh in a modified atmosphere.

“Standard vacuum pumps can no longer significantly

reduce evacuation times, so at Becker we questioned every known part of a vacuum pump and replaced it with better components and solutions. The result: The new U 5. series from Becker. Detailed test series confirm that with at least seven per cent faster evacuation times compared to commercially available vacuum pumps, they are among the most efficient high-performance vacuum pumps for the food packaging market,” says Frank Rischewski, Project Manager R&D-P New Product Projects, who was instrumental in the development.

Gas-tight blowers for additive manufacturing methodsIn selective laser melting (SLM) a stable inert gas atmosphere must be ensured within the built chamber of the machine. A specified temperature range is also essential. Only under these conditions can high quality components be produced. It is further necessary to remove metal splash and smoke developing during the melting process.

At formnext (hall 3.0, stand H 69) Gebr. Becker GmbH will be presenting two blower types developed precisely for these and similar applications. The key difference to other series is the gas-tight design which permits the precise control of the gas flow as well as the removal of contamination from the process. In combination with gas-tight heat exchangers from the programme of Gebr. Becker they also create the conditions for an exact temperature control of the additive manufacturing process.

For plants with a small built chamber the gas-tight and speed-controlled VASF side channel blowers of size 1.50 are ideal (pictured). They are of a highly compact construction and can be easily integrated in the plants, enabling the flow management of the inert gas in the closed circuit and low energy operation as required.

For larger plants in additive manufacturing and the

correspondingly higher volume flows of inert gas, the gas-tight side channel blower VARIAIR SV 300 is used. Here too, the speed-controlled, energy-efficient drive enables the delivery rate to be adapted to the actual requirements.

Both blowers are designed for 24/7 industrial operation and proven worldwide in numerous demanding applications. Due to their gas-tight design, they are suitable for the requirements of additive manufacturing in high-grade atmospheres.

A hat trick that our clients will tell you is well deservedTC Security Services, part of TC Facilities Management (TCFM), has not only been placed in the top 2% of all SIA listed companies within the Approved Contractor Scheme in the UK, it has also passed the ISO 9001 and 14001 management systems audits which come in to force next month. The 4 day visit by both auditors involved full scrutiny of the TC Security Services operation and for the ACS audit included visiting both the headquarters and satellite offices along with a mix of varied customers.

The maximum overall score on the ACS audit that can be achieved is currently 175 points. TC Security Services’ score of 164 places it not only in the top 2% of all SIA listed companies within the Approved Contractor Scheme, it also showed an increase in the score awarded by the auditors in 2017. All this shows TC Security Services as one of the very best security companies in the entire country.

Coupled with this was passing the ISO 9001:2015 and 14001:2015 management systems audits. This was the

fourth time these new quality standards, coming in to effect on September 14th 2018, have been audited and passed each time.

Both achievements mean that potential and existing customers have the confidence that not only has our service been independently assessed against recognised standards and procedures, it also offers added peace of mind that all the security personnel have been correctly trained for the role they are performing and our quality and management systems meet these ISO standards.

TLM targets laser cutting growth with Universal Laser Systems partnershipTLM Laser has announced a further expansion of their laser technology portfolio to include the comprehensive Universal Laser Systems (ULS) range. This now enables the company to offer laser-cutting solutions for the broadest range of materials including organics, plastics and metals.

TLM Laser’s philosophy is one of building a portfolio of world-class laser processing technologies that is available within the UK and Ireland from a single source. The recent addition of the ULS range of laser systems now means that the company can offer industry leading laser-cutting solutions for the widest range of materials and applications.

The Universal Laser Systems products provide TLM Laser with a range that includes desktop laser processing systems and stand-alone workstations using technology developed form a ‘Material Centric Approach’. Universal Laser Systems focuses on the materials used by companies, together with its manufacturing processes, to develop highly efficient laser processing ‘Tools’ that can be used on any laser compatible materials.

The ULS partnership means that TLM Laser is now able to offer an enhanced range of laser cutting systems.

Primarily based on CO2 laser sources with a maximum laser power of 30W to 150W, this comprehensive range offers working envelopes between heights of 406mm x 305mm x 102mm to 1,016mm x 610mm x 305mm. This broad choice of lasers, with wavelengths of 10.6μm or 9.3μm can cut and/or mark a vast range of materials.

Revolutionary technology using multiple laser wavelengthsOne of the latest developments from Universal Laser Systems is the XLS10MWH MultiWave Hybrid™, the first and only laser-system to combine multiple laser wavelengths and power levels into a single coaxial beam focused to a common focal plane.

The XLS10 MultiWave Hybrid™ accommodates a fixed fiber laser source and two different CO2 laser wavelength sources that can be independently or simultaneously controlled for a virtually infinite number of wavelength and power combinations. The ability to independently control each component of this hybrid laser beam allows optimum laser processing flexibility for an unlimited number of organic and inorganic materials. Moreover, the unique design of the optical system allows all wavelengths to focus into the same plane simultaneously. This makes it possible for the different wavelengths to work together to provide material processing capabilities that have previously not been possible. As a result, the MultiWave Hybrid can process any material, even notoriously difficult multi-layered materials with conductive and non-conductive layers.

One example of an existing application using two wavelengths independently is thin sheet stainless steel cutting up to thickness of 125u. In this application, a 1.06μm laser beam is used to heat the steel locally, thereby increasing its optical absorptivity. Once the material is heated, the 1.06μm laser beam is switched off, and a 10.6μm laser, which is much less expensive to operate, is

used to complete the material processing operation. This allows one laser wavelength to modify the properties of the material, so that the second laser wavelength can carry out the material processing operation, in this case cutting, much more efficiently.

Key features of the ULS range, which TLM’s customers will benefit from, include a modular architecture. This unique ‘building block’ architecture easily reconfigures field-upgradable platforms, laser sources and focusing optics, offering unsurpassed flexibility as material needs change and businesses evolve. This rapid re-configuration is easily achieved as the full range of factory-aligned laser sources are designed to be field-interchangeable, withno special tools or training needed.

Universal Laser Systems has also built up an extensive Materials Library, seen as the world’s premier source for information on laser material processing. It provides information on the types of materials that can be laser processed and the processes, ie. laser cutting, engraving and marking, that are possible with a given material. In addition, the Materials Library highlights considerations for an individual customer’s laser system configuration that may be necessary to process a given material, in addition to how ULS technology innovations can be leveraged to obtain the best possible results. This library is an evolving resource with updates made on a regular basis.

Complementing TLM’s existing laser cutting offeringThe addition of the ULS range complements LaserCube, which has been until now, the mainstay of TLM’s laser cutting range. Designed specifically for metal cutting applications on smaller sheet sizes, this compact fibre laser cutting platform is also ideally suited to smaller production runs and thinner sections where it delivers superior cutting performance combined with low operating costs.

Manufactured by the world’s leading developer and manufacturer of high-performance fibre lasers IPG, the LaserCube is the ideal cutting tool for metals, including mild

steel, stainless steel, aluminium, copper, brass and exotic alloys. Ideally suited to smaller part sizes, prototypes and smaller production runs, the LaserCube provides the most cost-effective capacity addition and lowest cost of ownership of any professional laser cutter.

Commenting on this most recent partnership and the benefits it will bring to the company, TLM Laser director, Andy Toms, says, “Having access to such a comprehensive range of field proven laser systems, supported with extensive processing knowledge, will allow us to offer tailored solutions to a much wider range of laser cutting applications. This will undoubtedly open up opportunities for TLM Laser in a number of new market segments and be a driver for growth within our business.”

TLM Laser offers LaserCube for cutting applications on thin metals and small sheet sizes.

Ayala BarAyala Bar jewellery is handcrafted. Each piece is composed of non-precious metals combined with glass beads, mineral stones, and crystal rhinestones. Earrings, brooches, necklaces, and bracelets are offered in symphonic lines of colours. Each of the two seasonal collections contains over 250 pieces of jewellery expressed in over a dozen colour groups featuring matching pieces. The target market is galleries and museums as the pieces are very artistic.

This season’s Classic line reveals a whole new effect, one of added sparkle and luminosity. It’s a fresh look which has resulted, in part, from the use of new unique beads which benefit from a special coating. The Hip line is characterised by layers

upon layers of detail. These layers of meticulous craftsmanship are often combined with French fabrics and textiles. Ayala’s Radiance line is based

on the quality and brilliance of the glass covered images. The Radiance line is a fairly new approach in which Ayala has made one necklace into a double sided piece.

Next year Ayala Bar is showing at Top Drawer and Harrogate. For more information and the full catalogue, please contact Sigal Distribution on 01784 482888 or email: [email protected]

ACSYS: Leaders in laser technologyOur sister publication, Industrial Process News, recently presented Acsys Lasertechnik UK Ltd with our highly deserving Laser Technology Company of the Year award.

Acsys Lasertechnik was first established back in 2003 by Gerhard Kimmel, with offices in Kornwestheim, Mittweida and Ludenscheid in Germany. Specialising in machining services, the company took off and saw swift success across the country. After continual investment into the company, and with their eye on brand new lucrative foreign markets, the company opened up ACSYS UK in 2010, ACSYS US in 2014 and ACSYS AT in 2018. Today the company are well known around the world for their expert laser systems and related products, with locations in over thirty countries worldwide. Their laser technology can be used on a huge breadth of materials, whether it’s for metals and alloys, plastics, coatings, organic or composite materials.

The company specialise in providing both standard laser machines and bespoke instruments for use in laser marking, engraving, cutting, welding and digitising. Their wide range of stock includes everything from the highly lauded OYSTER laser table system to the ORCA laser machining centre, as well as a huge scope of special modules. The past year in particular has been superb for the multinational company, with a significant spike in sales across the UK market in particular.

We spoke to Sales Manager, Mick Hemmings, about their growth, to which he explained, “Although it is a very competitive market, because of recent improvements we have made to our marketing and sales strategy, we have seen a sizeable increase in both sales and enquiries. It has been a busy past 12 months with the MACH 2018 show back in April, and a number of new sales and leads picked up from the show.”

As a world-renowned technical expert provider, Acsys Lasertechnik make sure to attend numerous trade shows throughout the year. The MACH Show, held at the NEC in April, proved an invaluable experience as the company were able to show off their huge number of wares while connecting with the wider industry at large. Attendees were particularly struck by the large selection of products available, with the BARRACUDA being one of the most talked about. The BARRACUDA is an all-in-one system that is ideal for use in industrial areas and which can also

be customised for specific usage. With powerful fibre lasers and high-speed writing heads, the BARRACUDA is used the world over for maximum precision and minimum processing. Not only that,

but the BARRACUDA is designed to minimise disruption and increase work productivity. It has an easily accessible work area, with the bed made from high strength steel or optional temperature stabile granite for highest precision.

One of Acsys Lasertechnik’s most popular products includes the PIRHANA Laser Engraving and Marking system. Specially built with a fibre laser system that boasts incredible beam quality, the PIRANHA is perfect for punch marks, fine engraving, 3D micro laser engraving and other high precision marking applications.

Mick added, “We have recently introduced a new machine in our exceptional PIRANHA range called the PIRHANA PICO. With its current picosecond laser, the PICO is capable of achieving extremely high precision levels. There are numerous advantages to this, including achieving ‘cold removal’ of a material, whereby the laser does not affect the integrity or properties of the material being engraved. Secondly, the ultra short pulse duration of the laser means the material will become hydrophobic, resisting water, dirt, bacteria and rust. This is called ‘Black Marking’.”

The PIRHANA PICO has proven extremely popular, with added benefits such as its compact and space saving build as well as its flexible and modular design. “The PIRHANA PICO can be used to fulfil a

number of tasks,” Mick stated. “In addition to the corrosion-resistant black marking, the PICO is perfect for 3D laser engraving on a vast amount of different materials, micro engraving, frosting and surface structuring to create stunning visual effects.”

Acsys Lasertechnik GmbH have also just launched the new PIRANHA Roboshift. Flexible and dynamic recording, processing and filing. These are the core topics of this automated laser processing system. At the heart of the laser is a compact 6-axis robot with the approximate length and reach of a human arm. This

enables highly flexible process automation in many industrial sectors. Whether laser marking, laser engraving, 3D laser engraving or a combination – the PIRANHA Roboshift offers universal automation and impresses with its high throughput and short cycle times. An ideal all-rounder for a wide variety of laser processing applications. Be one of the first to see it here: www.acsys.de/en/laser-systems/piranha-roboshift/piranha-roboshift.html

Part of what makes Acsys one of the world’s leading laser experts is their commitment to customer service. Centred at the core of the company,

Acsys work closely with the client to understand their company needs and budget and can find them the right laser product for their needs, even if it must be designed from scratch. Acsys’ many customised solutions can be seen in use across laboratories, manufacturing, engineering and much more throughout the world. All of their bespoke equipment is built to exact specifications, fully equipped and fit for purpose.

With a highly experienced and expert team of engineers at hand, clients are guided throughout the entire process, from 3D design to calibrating, commissioning and installation, no matter where in the world they are. In addition to all Acsys instruments going through a series of rigorous test runs under production conditions, clients can also rest assured that all products meet DIN ISO 9001:2008 and DIN EN ISO 14001 standards, guaranteeing reliability, longevity and product excellence.

Acsys also offer ArtCAM CAD\CAM software maintenance and support. Designed with artisans in mind, the user friendly and bespoke software is perfect for sign makers, woodworkers, engravers, jewellers and creators of all kinds to manufacture 2D or 3D products with speed and ease. Better

Bath University goes electric in new 293-room accommodationPolden is a 293-room facility located at The University of Bath. The accommodation comprises 37 flats across two buildings.

Mark Comerford, of MEP Engineering Solutions, is the Mechanical and Electrical Consultant for the project. “An initial consideration was whether to use wet, gas fired heating, or electric. The concern with electric was running cost. The University researched controls for electric heating and discovered PrefectIrus.”

Prefect Controls manufactures PrefectIrus, now installed in over 20,000 student rooms across the UK; it can

generate energy savings of around 40%.

More BEMS than thermostat, PrefectIrus manages, measures, and monitors conditions in individual rooms from a central control unit. Mains borne signalling means a non-invasive, cost-effective installation.

Mark continues, “The University made the commercial decision to use electric heating. We reviewed the technical specification – did it fit? Would it do the job? Would it deliver the temperatures? etc. All these boxes were ticked so we were introduced to Prefect.”

With features including light, humidity, and noise level monitoring, indication of failing third party components such as water heating thermostats and leaking tanks, Irus is creating safer, more comfortable environments, resulting in enhanced student experiences.

CP Electronics wins coveted RAC Cooling Industry Award for its HVAC DetectorEnergy and lighting controls specialist CP Electronics has been crowned an RAC Cooling Award winner thanks to its innovative air conditioning controller, the GESM-AC.

A battery-powered passive infrared (PIR) sensor, the GESM-AC limits use of air conditioning to times when it’s necessary – and switches it off when it’s not, based on occupancy. CP Electronics are winners in the ‘Air Conditioning Product of the Year – Accessories & Peripherals’ category, and its detector is designed to help bring energy consumption from air conditioning units down.

The results of the RAC Cooling Industry Awards were revealed on 26th September at the esteemed London Hilton, Park Lane, London, attended by over 600 of the refrigeration and air conditioning industry elite.

On CP Electronics’ win and the detector, the RAC Cooling Awards Judging Panel 2018 said, “A simple and practical device to install in rooms with infrared remote-controlled single AC units. The environmental benefits were obvious in saving on energy in cooling unoccupied space.

“It is not unreasonable to believe that a payback within 12 months can be achieved. It could benefit both new built and retrofit markets through the rapid installation and the subsequent low maintenance.”

As well as being environmentally friendly, one of GESM-AC’s biggest benefits is its versatility. The GESM-AC can be hardwired via USB, meaning developers can specify the unit to build energy efficiency into the framework and infrastructure of their buildings.

Gaia underfloor heating for fire stationA Hydronic underfloor heating system from Gaia Climate Solutions has been installed during the modernisation of an historic fire station in the heart of Cambridgeshire with the build-up specified to actually support the weight of a fully-laden appliance.

Officially opened by Sir Peter Brown, chairman of Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Fire Authority, and chief fire officer, Chris Strickland, Yaxley Community Fire and Rescue Station covers the Huntingdonshire district of the county. It is staffed by on-call firefighters recruited from the nearby community.

Work on the conserved building, which dates from 1879, was led by main contractor, SDC

Builders and took just over a year to complete. The Gaia Hydronic underfloor heating system and an air source heat pump were the key elements to a package provided by G-Core, which offers a full planning, design and installation service for ground and water source, as well as air source heat pumps.

Michael Regis, who designed and co-ordinated the project for G-Core, commented, “The main contractor laid the high density

insulation required to take the weight of the fire engine when it is full, and Gaia completed the installation of its Hydronic system, including the manifold. Gaia performed very well in terms of both the design detailing and the installation, and was very responsive to required changes to the specification of the UFH system.”

Calorex website becomes danthermgroup.co.ukAs of 1 June 2018 the Calorex website has changed its name to danthermgroup.co.uk with all Dantherm Group UK digital marketing and social media accounts linking to this site.

Since Calorex became part of the Dantherm Group in January 2016 the UK has been a leading force in selling all four brands within the group. However, this was not reflected in the online set-up with the Calorex website being the only website to direct all group traffic to in the UK. With this in mind and for the benefit of our customers it was decided to amalgamate all group products onto one site.

The new website will have all the usual features but users will now be able to search by application, product, brand or sector. A ‘Latest News’ section has also been added to the home page allowing visitors to be kept up to date with all that is going on within the group in the UK.

Anne Guerrero, UK Marketing Manager said, “The Calorex social media pages had already been changed back in January to Dantherm Group UK and this was just the natural progression of the Calorex brand being further integrated into the parent company, Dantherm Group.”

“We now have all group products under one roof making it easy for our online users to find any of our heating,

cooling, drying and ventilation products and the right person to contact.”

The Motoparking solution simply provides a place to store a motorcyclists gear such as; helmet, gloves, jackets, bags etc – while also providing a secure locking system to safely secure the motorbike itself whilst parked.

Aimed at parking authorities both private and public and any company that wishes to provide a better solution to motorcyclists, the Motoparking system comes in both Touring and City sizes for full sized motorbikes where space is available and for scooters or cycles where space is at a premium respectively.

Motoparking UK attended this year’s Parkex 2018 exhibition to showcase their solutions – which are already being successfully trialled in many cities within the UK and Europe – and the reception was incredible.

Attendees were notably impressed by the sleek design and volume of storage available and loved the ability to secure the motorbike all within one solution.

The ability to custom design the outer case to allow for advertising or branding was also a massive hit among peers.

Thanks to the incredible design and innovative nature of the products, Motoparking UK found themselves among the Top 10 exhibitors out of the 100+ attending the Parkex 2018 show held at the NEC Birmingham this past April. This impressive achievement from an up and coming relatively new company only cements their impressive credentials and innovative products on offer.

YourParkingSpace YourParkingSpace is Britain’s on-demand parking marketplace. Co-founder Charles Cridland began building this online platform in 2006 as a free platform connecting driveway owners with motorists searching for affordable parking. Joined by Harrison Woods in 2013, YourParkingSpace expanded the product offering to include commercial parking spaces.

Drivers can search for parking spaces across the UK and book by the hour, day, or month. Pre-book prices are guaranteed to never be more than the drive-up rate. With YourParkingSpace, drivers save money, skip queues, and enjoy the peace of mind that accompanies the booking guarantee.

Homeowners can list their empty driveways, parking spaces, or lock-up garages at a price of their choice.

This opportunity to earn a side income from sharing parking assets is amplified in busy areas. Spaces in central London and those near major event venues and airports regularly make upwards of £2,000 per year.

YourParkingSpace serves commercial clients as well as individual space owners. Businesses with empty or under-utilised parking facilities can tap into a lucrative additional revenue stream by adding their parking spaces to a platform where drivers are actively searching to book parking.

Food & Drink Manufacturing News

After proving its qualities at home in the UK, European food manufacturers are next in line to benefit from Cerulean’s accurate, sustainable, non-destructive equipment.

Maintaining an optimum temperature range has always been critical for food manufacturers the world over, as the reproduction of harmful micro-organisms or the formation of toxins can occur in either cold or warm ambience.

All food naturally emits tiny amounts of electromagnetic radiation, so using the Faraday cage principle, Celsius detects the radio energy from samples and converts these readings into temperature values. This process only takes a few seconds and any item can be measured between -30°C to +30°C. The equipment

has an easy to follow GUI and the operation process is quick and simple.

SCS SL, a private company located in Irun (North Spain), are one

business who has recently become a distributor of Celsius. Focused on niche engineering products, the company provide quality control and engineering solutions for the packaging sector and most of their customers are FMCG and private companies on the Iberian Peninsula.

The latest range of Celsius instruments, Midi and Maxi, have evolved in recent times to offer larger and more responsive screens and upgraded operating platforms. Consequently, food manufacturers across Europe can rest assured they now have the capability to achieve the optimal, accurate insight needed to produce the results required by many market sectors, including all those regulated by HACCP.

T 01908 233833

Celsius system heads for Europe

Ian Tindall (pictured), Director of Innovation and Marketing at Cerulean, explores the importance of temperature in the food manufacturing sector.

The size of the chilled and frozen food market shows the importance of maintaining food quality.

In the ready-to-eat sandwiches sector, one provider alone makes 600 million sandwiches every year!

The WRAP organisation quotes mind-boggling data that the food sector produces 10 million tonnes of food waste a year. However, with non-invasive

temperature checking technology there is little stopping manufacturers from protecting food quality and reducing waste.

Our sophisticated equipment, Celsius, delivers accurate temperature measurement in minutes, without specialist operator training, offers food manufacturers reassurance about the products they sell and enables protection of production rates at no costs to quality.

Media commentators often refer to “taking the temperature” of a market. In this case the importance of temperature is more than a metaphor; it’s a matter of protecting an industry’s future.

VELUX Group to acquire JET-Group from EgeriaVELUX A/S and Dutch investment firm Egeria have reached an agreement concerning the sale of JET-Group to the VELUX Group. The decision to acquire JET-Group, a European leader in industrial roof light systems, is in line with the VELUX Group’s growth strategy and specifically the desire to grow its business in the non-residential market for daylighting solutions. The acquisition of JET-Group is the second by the VELUX Group this year, with Wasco Products Inc, a US skylight manufacturer, announced in April.

The VELUX Group has been the market leader in the residential market for roof windows for more than 75 years. The VELUX Group’s first step into the commercial (non-residential) market was in 2012 when it launched the VELUX Modular Skylight (VMS) system. Today, the strategy is to develop a leading position in this business area through organic growth and acquisitions.

“We have had a very positive dialogue with Egeria and the JET-Group. We immediately felt that the ambitions and cultures of the JET-Group and our company complement each other nicely. Through the acquisition of JET-Group, we will strengthen our foothold within the commercial market in several countries and add several new product categories to our commercial offering in Europe,” says David Briggs, CEO of the VELUX Group.

Hexcel Wrap from Protega Global

Hexcel Wrap, protective packaging material supplied exclusively by Protega Global, is fast becoming the number one choice of packaging material with businesses looking to reduce their use of plastic. This 100% biodegradable and recyclable material has a premium luxury appearance which creates a gift-able open box experience which is easy for end users to responsibly recycle.

The key to the success of Hexcel Wrap is the innovative design with the material being specially manufactured to interlock as it is wrapped around goods; this interlocking quality allows the operative to apply the correct amount of material and reduce wastage. Another benefit of using Hexcel Wrap is that it can be torn by hand which helps considerably to reduce packing times.

The small footprint of the Hexcel Wrap and ergonomic dispenser is another benefit to consider, as operations of all sizes can facilitate this flexible, compact system, which in comparison to bubble wrap, will free up storage space. Hexcel Wrap doesn’t require electricity, and, unlike air cushioning machines, requires no maintenance, meaning downtime is a thing of the past.

UK’s most exclusive packaging event hailed huge successExhibitors and speakers hailed Packaging Innovations, Luxury Packaging and ADF London’s return to London Olympia from 12-13 September 2018 a huge success, as it celebrated its biggest and busiest edition to date.

Sustainability was top of the agenda, with leading figures from Coca-Cola, Sainsbury’s, The Packaging Federation, and WRAP all taking to the stage for the launch of the Big Plastics Debate 2.0. This interactive discussion, run in association with The Foodservice Packaging Association and OPRL, brought together the brightest minds in the packaging supply chain to tackle the issue of plastic waste in packaging.

The Rt Hon John Gummer, Lord Deben MP, chairman of the UK’s Independent Committee on Climate Change, was the Big Plastic Debate’s Keynote speaker. He discussed ‘Working with Government – How Business Can Drive the Solution to the Plastic Packaging Problem’. Continuing the sustainability theme was Simon Boas-Hoffmeyer, group sustainability director at Carlsberg, who spoke about the company’s ‘Snap Pack’ packaging, which has been designed to remove the need for plastic rings or shrink-wrap on its six packs. By simply gluing the cans together, Carlsberg will reduce its plastic usage by up to 76%. When fully implemented, this could reduce plastic waste by more than 1,200 tons globally, which is equivalent to eliminating 60

million plastic bags each year.

The next Easyfairs packaging event will be Packaging Innovations, Label&Print and Empack 2019, which takes place at Birmingham NEC from 27-28 February 2019. Slips, trips and falls: Are you doing enough to prevent them? Most of us have had one of those embarrassing slip moments. One minute you’re casually walking along with one foot in front of the other, then all of a sudden… WHOOSH! – Your feet disappear from underneath you and before you know it you’re on the floor!

Many will walk away completely unscathed (but slightly red faced), while others may not be so lucky having sustained a serious injury, which can be life shattering – and damaging to a business or property owner.

There are many prevention methods that can be implemented to reduce the risk of such incidents, but these are not

always suitable for high traffic areas and facilities such as leisure centres, spas and washrooms.

Sometimes the only practical answer is to apply an anti-slip treatment to the floor surface itself!

TREADSURE™ anti-slip treatment, uses nano-technology to increase the traction/grip of the floor, without changing the physical properties of the floor surface itself – no etching.

It is proven capable of providing 180% grip increase on wet surfaces and 156% increase on dry surfaces. It is suitable

for use on a wide range of internal and external surfaces, even in baths and shower rooms.

Notrax® 570 De-Flex™: A state of balanceA 45cm x 45cm rubber tile that hits the right balance of comfort, safety, and flexibilityAs with any new Notrax® innovation – the premise for the new product design is clear: maximising the level of comfort and safety for standing workers. In order to bring a truly new innovation to the market, we accepted the challenge to design our bestselling product, the 479 Cushion Trax®, into a modular and flexible solution for extreme industrial workstation applications.

To make it bigger, we made it smallerIn order to surpass the maximum width of the 479 Cushion Trax® of 152cm, we made the 570 De-Flex™ a 45cm x 45cm modular tile that can be easily assembled for coverage of large areas, around corners and long aisles.

To make it heavier, we made it lighterAlthough the overall weight of 16kg/m² is almost triple compared to 5.5kg/m² of the 479 Cushion Trax®, the

45cm x 45cm tiles are easier to handle weighing in at just 3.3kg per tile.

To make it softer, we made it harder144 hard bulleted domes beneath the surface force the mat to continually bend and ‘flex’ with every movement enhanced even more by the natural resilience and ‘deflection’ of the rubber compound.

To create a single universal locking system, we designed a double locking systemThe first seamless universal interlocking system simplifies installation, yet the double-lock technique is extremely strong and will hold even in the most difficult conditions.

To make it specialised, we made 6 variationsAvailable in a range of specialised rubber compounds for general purpose applications, resistance to industrial oils, ESD static dissipative, and fire-retardant applications. Also available with Grip Step® II for extremely slippery areas.

Seamless universal double-lockThe 570 De-Flex™ has the first seamless universal interlocking system on all sides simplifying the installation as the tiles and safety ramps will fit together any way. Simply lay and double lock these handy tiles together to assemble a matting solution in any direction or shape.

The connection is completely seamless and doesn’t impact the level of comfort. The double-lock is extremely strong and will hold even in the most difficult conditions.

Extended bevelled ramps prevent tripping and allow cart access and are easily

customised for corners.

High level of comfortThe 144 bulleted domes

underneath the mat allow it to continually bend and ‘flex’

with every movement while distributing weight evenly to allow the worker to stand steadily. The 19mm thick platform elevates

and insulates the worker from the hard ground.

Made from a durable rubber compound that provides a natural

rebound resilience and creates an energising rebound effect or ‘deflection’ that stimulates automatic balance checks to improve posture and constant micro movements to maintain blood flow.

Too much cushioning can have a negative effect. Too great an amount of softness will cause excessive fatigue because it overworks the muscles. Think of it like jogging in soft sand as an extreme example of this concept. The De-Flex provides the right amount of comfort to ensure a comfortable standing experience.

Freedom of movementThe diamond plate surface provides traction yet allows

easy twist turns for freedom of movement for dynamic workstations.

The composition of the material and surface pattern significantly influences

the mechanical behaviour of mats. Due to the ‘rebound’ and flexibility of the De-

Flex, it is ideal for providing comfort during turning, walking, and other movement.

IDEXX Pseudalert Test Accepted as Global ISO StandardThe IDEXX Pseudalert® method, for the 24-hour detection of Pseudomonas aeruginosa in water, has been published as the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) worldwide standard 16266-2. P. aeruginosa can cause life-threatening infections in hospitals and can be a cause of skin, ear, and eye infections from recreational water.

Published as ISO 16266-2:2018, Water Quality—Detection and Enumeration of Pseudomonas aeruginosa–Part 2: Most Probable Number Method, Pseudalert detects P. aeruginosa in less than half the time of older standard methods. It has high sensitivity and specificity, requires no confirmation steps, and can be more easily used with water samples which have high levels of background flora. Turnaround time is especially critical in the healthcare and hospitality industries, where receiving test results sooner enables facility managers to act more quickly to clean water systems and protect patient and visitor safety. Faster turnaround time for retesting after remediation also reduces the costs of clinical downtime and closed facilities.

Pseudalert is also included in several European country-specific standards, and was shown to be as accurate as, or more accurate than, the traditional method in two independent studies.

Amber Valley Developments

Amber Valley Developments was delighted to continue its support for Hillhead.

This year we majored on our unique plug and play seatbelt system incorporating our ECU interface that works in conjunction with the immobiliser. Our completely potted single and double beacons are virtually indestructible.

We were also excited to show our plug and play system incorporating speed and indicator modules making fitting the products to attain FORS or CLOCS standards a simple task for any fleet. This is even now being used by our distributors and even our competitors as it saves £££ on installation costs and works with all equipment regardless of manufacture.

We have also launched our range of illuminated cycle signs, that can have landscape or portrait graphics designed to suit your fleet, and our range of LED cycle signs, which are rubber mounted and now completely sealed with LED clear potting, to make it easy for them to withstand the rigours of pressure washing.

Our ALARMALIGHT range for left turn and reversing is simply the best as the alarms are audible & visual and are specified by many major fleets, as cyclists and other vulnerable road users wear headphones or are deaf and do not hear alarms.

We can also manufacture them with white noise to complement our Ecolarm range.

Finally we have launched our LED triangle range of hard wired or rechargeable LED triangles, which have won very encouraging orders on their debut last month.

Take the time to visit our website & sign up for our product launches at: www.amber-valley.co.uk

Industry showpieceWith an unprecedented 546 exhibitors and almost 20,000 trade visitors in attendance, Hillhead 2018 was the biggest and most successful show to date. Quarry Management reports

Exhibitors and visitors alike could not have asked for much better weather at this year’s Hillhead exhibition. For three gloriously warm sunny days in June (26-28), as Britain sweltered in simmering summer temperatures, Tarmac’s Hillhead Quarry, near Buxton, Derbyshire, once again became the focal point for the international mineral products, recycling and construction equipment industries with the staging of Hillhead 2018 – the world’s biggest working quarry show.

With every square metre of exhibition space fully booked and occupied, this year’s trade fair registered an all-time high for the overall number of exhibitors (546), while the total visitor attendance was a record-breaking 19,687 unique attendees – surpassing the show’s previous highest attendance record set in 2005.

As the show swung open its doors, regular attendees may have noticed the new layout inside the Registration Pavilion, which has been expanded (again) to boost its capacity to 90

exhibitors and meet strong demand for exhibition space at the show.

The registration and demonstration areas at the top of the showground were also redesigned to accommodate additional static stands and demonstrations showcasing working plant.

The show returns to the Hillhead Quarry from 23-25 June 2020. This is our second pick of the best exhibitors from this year’s show. Further details can be found on this page and the next four.

Saving limbs and lives with MMD sizer technologyCelebrating 40 years of innovation in mining equipment, MMD (Mining Machinery Developments) donated a revolutionary anti-personnel landmine clearance rig to The HALO Trust at the Hillhead show in Derbyshire.

The rig is destined for deployment in Zimbabwe, which remains one of the most highly mine-impacted countries in the world. Small plastic mines – extremely difficult to detect and densely packed – run for hundreds of kilometres, close to houses, schools and agricultural land. Clearing the minefields using traditional methods is a slow, painstaking job with a high level of risk. MMD’s innovative Sizer technology will enable land to be returned to farmers faster and allow children to stop walking to school on paths through minefields.

Five years in development, the mobile Demining Sizer rig works by receiving excavated soil containing anti-personnel landmines: two MMD Sizers process material, ensuring that all mines contained in the soil are crushed or detonated.

The unit’s ability to handle a wide variety of soil types – from hard and abrasive to wet and sticky – and its remote control operation will remove human contact in the highly sensitive minefields in which The HALO Trust operates around the world.

Pulsar Process MeasurementAfter a short break, 2018 saw the return of Pulsar Process Measurement at Hillhead.

Quarrying is one of the many industries where the detection of blocked chutes, level measurement and pump control is important, however the remoteness of many applications means their monitoring becomes difficult without using non-contacting level and flow control.

Pulsar Process Measurement offer products for various applications that can offer continuous level measurement, sprayer control, loading level monitoring, monitor bin, silo and stock pile levels. Pulsar also offer drainage water level monitoring and pump control, crusher

control, blocked chute detection, non-invasive pipe flow monitoring, diesel and storage tank levels, monitoring of discharge flow and non-contacting velocity x Area metering.

Our open channel flow solutions are MCERTS Class1 certified, meaning you get accurate reliable data each and every time.

Hillhead 2018 was a chance

for us to showcase our low-cost, non-contacting, zero maintenance ultrasonic solutions. The Pulsarguard 2010 Acoustic Sensor demonstration proved very popular for demonstrating block chute detection. Overall, the show was a success with a high quality of visitors and lots of sales leads to follow up on.

Kinshofer UK: ‘Global Expertise, local know-how’ in actionHillhead always puts on a fantastic show and this year was no exception – 2018 will be remembered as being a bit special, namely due to a spell of hot weather that made the venue feel more like the Sahara than an East Midlands quarry. It was also a bit special for Kinshofer UK. The crane and excavator attachment expert, based in Stockport, has enjoyed a successful year across the board and its presence at Hillhead went a good way to reflect this – showcasing a wide range of quarrying, recycling, rehandling, demolition, and construction attachments.

Andy Little, Kinshofer UK Excavator Attachments National Sales Manager, looks back at some of the highlights from one of the busiest shows of its kind in the UK.

What was the strategy for Kinshofer at Hillhead this year?Fundamentally, we set out to showcase Kinshofer’s global strength and expertise. It’s something we feel sets us apart in the marketplace and we really wanted to bring it to Hillhead for the benefit of our UK customers and

local dealer network. Our regular UK sales team was joined by a significant number of global contributors, to offer expert advice and insight. Our global CEO was present along with product managers from all the major teams based in Germany, as well as leading representatives from our partners in Holland, Sweden, New Zealand, and Australia. Allied to this was a strong showing from our national dealer network to add further local knowledge for the benefit of our customers – MTK, Mutleys, Dunrave, Yarwoods, Fitzgeralds, and Hodge Plant were among those represented.

What products took centre stage?Undoubtedly, the transverse drum cutter set-up with NOX Tiltrotator and OilQuick hydraulic quick change was a real focus – not just because of its relevance in terms of application but also because of its sheer flexibility and multi-tasking potential. We did see a large amount of interest in it, as the ability to pick up and drop off attachments from the cab is a massive time saver for any operator, and the NOX added to the flexibility story nicely through its cylinderless capability. Our traditional demolition range from Demarec proved popular as always, this year complemented by the smaller DMS Multi-Shears with exchangeable jaw sets. Among other products, we featured a selection of the twin D-Lock quick couplers and tilt couplers, the largest HPXdrive clamshell bucket, the C40HPX, suitable for 40t excavators, and the FlipScreen screening and recycling bucket generated a lot of interest too, as it’s a simple idea beautifully executed – all displaying the breadth and expertise Kinshofer brings to the UK market.

And what were the main messages? As a business, our main aim is to consistently develop innovative product ranges that build a reputation for quality, reliability and safety – with a customer-centric approach that focuses on after-sales support. The NOX gaining Product Acceptance status from Network Rail was an important development for the show this year. Becoming rail ready was the culmination of a lot of time and effort from all parties concerned in the approvals process, and this firmly demonstrates the productivity gains that innovative technology can bring to the rail sector.

You also had a demo machine present, how did this fit in?Yes, courtesy of Dunrave Plant Services, we ran a 9-tonne Wacker Neuson ET90 at the Registration Demonstration Area, which demonstrated a TR10 cylinderless NOX-Tiltrotator and an assortment of hitches, buckets, and other attachments. Steady crowds were a consistent feature of the three days, despite the heat up at the top. They were able to see our ‘Slim As The Dipper’ routine – a neat little demo that simulated a narrow trench – which showcased the NOX’s slim profile and ability to work unimpeded in confined areas due to its lack of cylinders.

How did 2018 compare to previous years?Having attended the last eleven shows at Hillhead, I can safely say this was one of the best, if not the best, show I can remember at the quarry. Bigger investment, better organisation, record audience numbers, better customer feedback. And weather like no other!

Was the show successful for you as a business?Having a strong product story certainly helped generate interest, pre-show discussion, on-stand attendance and ultimately helped to drive sales. Relationships were strengthened with existing customers as they always are, and plenty of new relationships were formed this year also.

Any personal highlights?Hillhead number twelve was all about sun cream, ice cream, and some selling in-between!

Crick Trailer Sales: The specialist division of Dennison TrailersFollowing on from a very successful 2018 Hillhead exhibition, Crick Trailer Sales has boosted the production of our sliding bogie tipping trailers and put two new demonstration trailers on the fleet, to ensure customers have the opportunity to evaluate the amazingly stable and extremely manoeuvrable Dennison sliding bogie tipping trailer.

Transport for London’s recent study, carried out by WSP Engineering, said that the most environmentally conscious method of transporting construction material round the city is using articulated

trailers; it said that this could potentially reduce emission by 32% and vehicle movements by 37%.

The only concern raised was the stability of the tipping trailers and we believe we have that covered with the sliding bogie tipper trailer – in the trailer’s shortened position it will outmanoeuvre an 8 wheel rigid tipper and the trailer’s wide hinge bar and short body makes it one of the most stable methods of tipping in the market. With a press of a switch in the cab, the trailer extends to meet the requirement to run at 44t on UK roads. The Sliding bogie tipping

trailer ticks all the boxes.

Based in Inverness, Workboat UK specialise in providing small workboats for the hire market, with everything from small boats and pontoons for ponds and rivers, to larger boats fully coded for work ‘At Sea’ with the Pioner Multi. In light of their excellent range of boats and marine related services, the company managed to make quite the splash at the Seawork International Show, for which they have been selected as one of the Top 10 Exhibitors.

Since their inception, Workboat UK have managed to set themselves apart from the rest of the industry by being the only company in the UK to offer small workboat bareboat hire, which is essentially a boat without any skipper or crew and which therefore allows hirers to use existing members of their own team to crew the boat.

Two key features of Workboat UK boats are that they are all made with rotational moulded

polyethylene, making them durable and easy to maintain; they also have excellent clear deck space ideal for payload, film crew, and survey operations. Not only that, but all their boats are easily transportable whether by van or trailer, and they can deliver all over the UK thanks to their robust network of bases.

2018 Seawork speeds to successAt a time of political and economic uncertainty, the 21st annual Seawork exhibition, held at Mayflower Park, Southampton, from 3-5 July 2018, was a clear demonstration that the UK and European commercial marine sector is open for business. With deals being struck, exhibitors showing confidence and visitor numbers up, Seawork was again successful at bringing together businesses, trading opportunities, and new ideas.

The commercial marine sector is a vital facilitator to trade, security, and maintenance of the world’s coastlines.

The UK Maritime Minister, Nusrat Ghani, opened the 21st edition of Seawork International on Tuesday 3 July with her speech focusing on the importance of the maritime sector, seafarer training, women in maritime, and Maritime 2050; the long-term strategy for the future of the UK maritime industries. As the engine of British trade, the maritime sector supports nearly 1 million jobs, contributes tens of billions to the UK GDP and drives exports as well as inward investment. Half a trillion pounds worth of goods passes through UK ports each year. DIT (the UK Department of International Trade) hosted a Chinese delegation to Seawork, members of which were keen to investigate the opportunities to do business.

Seawork 2019 and Speed@Seawork will return to Southampton’s Mayflower Park from 10-13 June 2019. This is our pick of the best exhibitors from this year’s show, listed here in alphabetical order: Fish Composites, Hydro Extrusion UK Ltd, LK Valves & Controls, North Sea Winches, Webasto Thermo & Comfort, Workboat UK & You & Sea. Further details can be found on this page.

New V77 chiller air-conditioning units and 12 and 15kW heatersWebasto’s V series product range has been expanded with higher performance chiller air-conditioning units.

These units feature an intelligent, variable speed compressor controller and offer high performance and reliability, even under warm seawater conditions. Alongside the established V50 M model, two further models are also available: the V64 T and the V77 T. These deliver a cooling capacity ranging from 64,000 to 77,000 BTU/h, which means that larger boats can also be fitted with V series units. The air conditioning systems are light, compact and very quiet in operation. Furthermore, they are extremely efficient and their amperage draw can be manually limited if necessary.

They can be operated as standalone units or several units can be connected in parallel, thereby further increasing the overall cooling performance considerably. Like all other BlueCool air-conditioning units, the new models can also be intuitively controlled via the touch-screen panel. They can also be connected to the Webasto BlueCool Expert diagnosis and set up tool.

Webasto has recently introduced the diesel-powered Thermo Top Pro 120 and Thermo Top Pro 150 heating solutions, which feature an innovative burner concept and a heat

output of between 12 and 15kW. The atomising burner is extremely compact and particularly quiet in operation. This allowed the design of the new Thermo Top Pro units to be optimised for easier installation and simpler service. The units are furthermore equipped with a diagnostic function and an intelligent safety system.

The Cast Metals Federation, CMF, selected as one of our Top Exhibitors at the Subcon event in June, had a stand to promote the Best of British Castings to those attending.

The event bought a steady number of visitors to the stand looking to source engineered solutions in cast metal for all sectors, including heavy plant and machinery, precision investment near net shape components for turbines and medical applications as well large scale high volumes for the automotive and aerospace sectors. A good number of visitors were also seeking foundries with additional capabilities such as machining, painting and assembly.

Pam Murrell, CEO of the CMF, said, “Our members reported good levels of enquiries, with many being confident that these would convert into orders. Given the ongoing political uncertainty in the UK presently, the fact that manufacturers are seeking to source work from or relocate work to UK businesses, this must be considered a positive opportunity for the industry and we have seen recent industry growth. The opening of our new National Foundry Training Centre was also of great interest as users and designers seek to learn more about casting as a route to manufacture.”

Long Tail Mixers is an emerging and unique brand dedicated to providing rums, whiskies, and bourbons with the ideal pairings to help consumers discover dark spirits in a new light.

The mixers come in three carefully selected flavours – Blood Orange, Island Spice and Ginger Lime – they are blended from natural ingredients with carbonated spring water to produce unique and balanced mixers that are designed to enhance and complement the flavour notes of your favourite dark spirit.

Alex and Tom comment, “Long Tail is born out of a true passion for drinking dark spirits. We found it hard to find the right mixer for our favourite spirits other than the standard soft drinks and mixers that you would ordinarily add. We wanted to find the balance in mixers that are fresh, but not overpowering, invigorating, but not over-sweetened, and to produce drinks that harmonise with dark spirits, rather than mask their unique flavours. We believe we have created mixers truly unique to the market, and products we think our customers and lovers of dark spirits will enjoy time after time.”

From melt-in-your-mouth to exotic – for all the varieties of chocolate in the world, there are just as many types of packaging. Regardless of the wrapper material’s colour or texture, UC-F77 series ultrasonic sensors from Pepperl+Fuchs monitor roll diameter and reliably detect breaks in material.

Chocolate comes in countless flavours, filled with nuts, marzipan, nougat, liqueur – or with a hint of chili or ginger. Whether it is bittersweet, semisweet, milk, or white, the main ingredient is always cacao.

The cacao content varies from 20% cacao butter in white chocolate to more than 70% pure cacao in dark chocolate. Chocolate is said to owe its modern name to the Aztec drink ‘Xocóatl’, brewed as early as the 14th Century by the native inhabitants of Latin America from a mix of water, cocoa, chili pepper, and vanilla.

From Latin America to the wider world The beans were brought to Europe by Spanish conquistadors in the 16th Century, where they were

used to create a bitter drink that soon became fashionable in aristocratic circles. It was not until the 19th Century that cocoa became less important in the form of a drink. Around this time, Italian ‘Cioccolatieri’ began producing solid chocolate. This period saw the beginnings of the first chocolate manufacturers and brands that are still well-known today, such as Suchard, Sprüngli, Lindt, Tobler, and Nestlé.

Cacao is still the most important raw material in chocolate production today. From harvesting and

fermentation to roasting and processing, the essential production steps have not changed dramatically over the years. But today’s chocolate industry relies on sophisticated equipment for the production and processing steps.

Reliably packaged Before these treats of all shapes and sizes reach store shelves, they are packaged in wrappers, packets, or boxes. Whether the manufacturer requires cellophane, parchment paper, or colourful, shiny wrappers, the different materials required for processing are often supplied on rolls and fed into machines by guide rollers.

During the packaging of filled chocolates, trays of the product move along conveyors. The packaging materials required, such as foil or adhesive labels, are dispensed from rolls. The unrolling process for the packaging material – and the resulting reduction in roll diameter – is continuously monitored. This process requires precise detection of materials, regardless of their colour and surface characteristics. Just like the chocolates themselves, the different types of packaging vary in colour, surface, and composition. In addition, any breaks in the material must be detected during the feeding process.

Ultra-compact UC-F77 series ultrasonic sensors can tackle both of these challenges. They reliably detect even the most difficult materials-including transparent films, shiny packaging, and cardboard boxes. Since roll widths and diameters vary depending on the material, different sound beam widths are beneficial in ensuring precise detection. No problem for UC-F77 ultrasonic sensors: their sound beam can be adjusted to the appropriate width. Even rolls that are just 5cm wide can be monitored without the spool edge causing false trips. The narrow sound beam is also a key benefit for monitoring material break between the guide rollers.

Synchronisation and maximum transparency Material rolls are often positioned closely together. This is where the UC-F77 series shines. Its compact design makes it perfect for retrofitting existing packaging machines, even in space-restricted applications. For added flexibility, the sensors are available as standard or sidelooker models. To prevent cross-talk between sensors, they can be synchronised in automatic multiplex mode. An integrated IO-Link interface enables communication from the control level to the sensor level, offering maximum transparency throughout the process.

FrontStageFrontStage attended eCommerce Expo 2018 with an upgraded stand and a better position from the previous year. FrontStage develops an omni-channel, call platform independent, customer contact solution. The product is new on to the UK market and as much as looking for new customers, we were also seeking out potential partners to assist us in this market.

There is no question that the number and quality of the leads taken at the show this year improved over the year before. This was partly due to the repositioning, but also due to a more focused approach to visitors, ensuring that we spoke

to as many people as possible. We found that our message of flexibility, in terms of customising the product, the platforms on which we could operate, and our willingness to integrate with other systems, resonated very well with the eCommerce audience.

One area that did remain the same as 2017 was the popularity of our Czech beer! Served on tap from about 1pm onwards each day, visitors and exhibitors alike appreciated the refreshment and the opportunity to socialise a little. Quality beer and a quality product equals a quality event. Overall, a very successful event and we’ve

How to grow global eCommerce sales with deliveryInternational expansion was a hot topic of discussion at eCommerce Expo, as retailers seek to ward off the risk of Brexit and maximise their potential for growth.

We recently surveyed over 100 retailers with £1m+ turnover and discovered that 76% of retailers expect international sales to grow significantly over the next two years, but complexities around delivery are said to be the biggest barrier to growth after taxes and duties. This comes down to the cost and time of managing multiple carriers, as well as the lack of knowledge around what services to use.

We also found that although the majority of retailers currently handle delivery internally, over half will consider outsourcing within the next year. By outsourcing delivery, retailers can offload all or part of their international shipping by taking advantage of expert guidance, technology, and pricing.

We help retailers grow by taking the complexity and cost out of delivery so they can concentrate on selling more. Download our latest eBook ‘How to grow global eCommerce sales with delivery’, to find out how delivery can be an enabler instead of a barrier, with practical tips to help you adapt

delivery for international markets and kick start your international growth.

Energy & Environment News

A shift away from carbon-based energy sources towards renewables has become the new normal for many of the world’s economies. Alongside more established clean energy sources such as sun, wind or hydro power, another type of renewable and low-carbon energy is turning a global liability into an asset. The waste to energy (WTE) market is expanding rapidly around the world, offering a unique solution to a growing problem.

What a wasteOne of the major issues confronting governments is what to do with the mountains of household waste and unused industrial resources produced daily. And the problem is getting worse, with experts predicting that humans will generate 11 million tons of solid waste each day by the close of this century.

But new technology allows energy to be generated from semi-solid waste discharged from urban incinerators or industrial plants, liquid waste like domestic sewage and gas waste produced in a refinery. The global market is predicted to grow to $35.5 billion by 2024, led by the Asia-Pacific region where take-up of WTE solutions are expected to double by 2020.

Cleaner and greenerRapid population growth, changing consumption patterns and large-scale migration to Asia’s densely packed cities, where the bulk of the region’s population lives, has significantly increased the volume of

urban and industrial waste produced.

Incineration is the most commonly used technology in the current waste management market, as it removes the cost of transporting refuse to landfill sites. But Asian governments are increasingly adopting greener and more innovative approaches to tackling the problem.

Japan was an early adopter of waste-to-energy technologies and leads the way in the region. But China is also looming as part of its fast-paced global energy transition to a cleaner future. The energy demands of the world’s most populous country are increasing rapidly, in-line with mounting domestic and commercial waste.

Heavy investment in renewable energy technologies, supported by government policies to encourage sustainable development, are driving China’s WTE sector. The southern Chinese city of Shenzhen is constructing the world’s largest waste-to-energy plant, with an expected daily capacity to incinerate 5,000 tonnes of the city’s vast trash problem from 2020. Captured residual heat from the incinerator drives a turbine which generates electricity as a by-product of the waste management process.

The process roughly halves the amount of CO2 typically released from landfill sites, according to the architects leading the Shenzhen project. The facility represents just one of 300 WTE plants planned by China’s government to be built over the coming three years.

As governments become increasingly aware of their environmental impact, countries like China and India are increasingly supportive of policies that promote more efficient and cost-effective solutions to waste management. And this drive is being echoed in Europe, too.

The power of wasted energyThe European waste-to-energy market is also on the rise as producers across the continent adopt initiatives to manage household trash and commercial waste more efficiently. Waste-to-heat systems generate energy by processing different types of waste, including solid or semi-solid, excess gas and excess heat.

In Turkey, for example, the country’s largest egg producer has installed an Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC) system from Turboden, part of the Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) Group. This converts chicken manure into electricity and hot water for the production site. The system solves a major environmental issue by creating clean energy out of this

unwanted waste.

A similar system is in operation in Russia’s oil industry, but instead of solid or semi-solid waste, the facility processes residual heat from flare gas. International oil and gas company Lukoil uses a Turboden ORC system to provide electricity and hot water for its oil refinery by converting the natural gas that makes up flare gas. This is normally burnt off at the top of a torch. During each hour of operation, the ORC system prevents 720kg of CO2 emissions reaching the atmosphere.

While across the continent in Italy, Ori Martin’s steel plant uses ORC turbines to capture residual heat from its manufacturing processes, which typically escape into the atmosphere. The energy that is captured is providing the local town of Brescia with electricity and heating.

Such innovative projects are part of a steady migration of global attitudes towards cleaner, more sustainable production. Growing global awareness among governments and private operators of the need to find more efficient alternatives to traditional waste management, could be the catalyst that drives the future of the waste to energy sector.

You get Stax moreBusiness and Industry Today is proud and excited to announce Stax Trade Centres as the recipient of our Wholesaler & Trade Supplier Company of the Month for supplying retail and trade professionals throughout the UK with the best brands and biggest range at the lowest prices – and for doing Stax more.

Stax Trade Centres are the biggest non-food cash and carry wholesaler and trade supplier within the UK; they’ve been supplying retail and trade professionals with the biggest range from the biggest brands in non-food products for over 35 years.

Starting in 1981 in a single warehouse on the outskirts of Manchester, Stax now operates from six massive (up to 100,000ft2) strategically placed warehouses in Manchester, Birmingham, Leeds, Bristol, Edinburgh and Glasgow allowing customers access to their product range and services no matter where they are within the UK.

Supplying more than 45,000 product lines from 1,000+ trusted brands to over 50,000 businesses, Stax offer a range second to none which includes; outdoor and gardening, tools and hardware, building and joinery, DIY, electrical and lighting, plumbing and heating, kitchens and bathrooms, decorating, homewares and much more.

Stax more than a wholesalerAlthough established primarily as a wholesaler to retail and trade professionals through their warehouses, Stax has never been afraid to diversify and adapt to the UK market and their partner/customer needs. From developing long-term relationships with brands, offering a delivery service, expanding existing warehouses, on occasion completely moving site within the same city to a bigger more practical site, to offering their customers more than just a wholesale service – Stax Trade Centres never shy away from doing whatever it takes to continue their success, the success of their partners and to give their customers more.

Many of the brands in stock are exclusive to Stax thanks to well established partnerships created with outside businesses. These partnerships aren’t just about stocking and selling supplier branded goods for profit. Through their 35 years in operation, Stax have accumulated an incredible amount of knowledge and understanding on what their customers need; and with their infrastructure and contacts they’re able to help partners thrive and grow alongside Stax.

We had the opportunity to speak with David Hibbert, Joint Managing Director at Stax Trade Centres, and asked him more about Stax and what elevates them above their competitors.

“Our success as a team at Stax comes from two key areas. The first is thanks to our customers and the partnerships we have developed with the biggest brands. We pride ourselves on looking after not only ourselves but those we work with and supply to. The second part is our ability to change and evolve with the fluctuating market and the needs of our customers and partners.”

“At a recent trade exhibition, I was in the process of negotiating a deal with a hugely successful brand who we wished to partner with and become the sole supplier of in the UK. He asked me to describe why he should be on board with Stax. Of course I could have talked about our extensive industry leading

knowledge and incredible 35 years of operation, or our connections and 50,000 strong customer base. I could have even rattled off our other exclusivity deals with equally impressive brands such as his.”

“In the end I said – because we are relevant.”

Stax more relevanceCompanies can become complacent; they can enjoy success but never push themselves to do more, while some are good at what they do but waste their potential by not doing more. Stax prefer to be successful and mindful of their relevance. They are masters of what they do but they also understand to maintain their customer base they need to listen to them, evolve around them and offer more to them. This extends to their staff and their partnerships where Stax understand retaining both is key to

running a successful business.

Almost half of the 600+ workforce at Stax have been with the company for over a decade and many of the partnerships Stax have created with brands such as DeWalt, Cuprinol and Wilkinson Sword have also lasted similar lengths.

David Hibbert continues “Our relevance is our driving force. We want to be known as more than ‘just’ a wholesaler of non-food goods. We now deliver to some of our retail customers – a much requested service – and now over 40% of our business comes from deliveries through

our warehouse branches.”

“Another newly launched service is our mobile uniform showroom. We launched the service on the back of understanding our customer needs to see our workwear range so they could choose the right products for the right tasks. So we visit premises with a full range of gear so our clients can make the right choices.”

And it’s this desire to give more to customers where Stax Trade Centres excels in comparison to the competition. As with all wholesalers, membership is required to take advantage of their services but what stands Stax out are the other benefits included.

“At Stax we want to give our customers more than any other wholesaler, more rewards, more choice and more support to grow. And so we have a very generous rebate scheme which rewards spending in store with vouchers. We also have a ‘Stax Mates Rates’ scheme where we reward our customers who refer friends with £100 worth of vouchers each.”

“But it is our Stax Perx that we are most excited to offer to our customers and partners. At Stax, in everything we do we would much rather do our own version (in reference to already existing concepts such as Perkbox). We do this because we believe we can do it bigger and better than others. We can also make our services and rewards much more relevant by doing it this way.”

“And so our Stax Perx offers a free benefits programme full of discounts and offers that can either directly impact a customer’s business – such as discounted energy bills, phone and broadband or insurance – or that can offer more personal rewards

like cheaper gym memberships, discounts on the latest fashions or deals on days out for all the family. We choose our partners based on what we think can give back the most to our customers.”

Stax more winsIt’s clear to see why we awarded Stax Trade Centres our Wholesaler and Trade Supplier Company of the Month. Any company that can evolve with their customer and client base as their central focus, respond to feedback with solutions that actually achieve what’s asked, and ensure that partnerships with incredible big brands isn’t just about selling their products but developing and growing the client’s business as well as their own, deserve to be recognised.

But of course we’re not the only established organisation recognising Stax Trade Centres, as this year alone Stax Birmingham received a Customer Service Excellence award from Mica and impressively Stax retained the ‘Best Builders Merchant Buying Team’ title at Glee 2018 for the second year running.

With their past successes we are extremely excited to see what Stax do next to remain relevant during the next 12 months with Brexit looming and with the ever evolving market. Whatever they do we’re sure their expertise and knowledge accumulated over their 35 years will steer through anything.
