It was an excellent turnout and we got to visit with many former students of the department and college. I want to offer a special thank you to our Undergraduate and Graduate Offices for setting up booths at the event and meeting with former and prospective students. Dusty Menzies, Donna Chester, Amy Connolly and Fred Boadu represented the Undergraduate Program, while Brandi Blankenship, Katie McDermit and David Salinas manned the Graduate Program booth. Thanks again for your efforts! Tuesday morning in class I had two representatives from PepsiCo who were there to talk about the com- pany, its potential career paths and visit with students. Michael Hourihan, Senior VP, Global Procurement for the Americas and Joe Corrales, Global Procurement Director provided an excellent overview of what PepsiCo does globally and the importance of logistical systems in sourcing ingredients from around the world. The Q&A session with them lasted more than a half hour, causing concern on my part that we might have to leave the classroom and resume outside. Fortunately that didn’t happen, but we had some great questions and very good discussion. One of the interesting answers we received to the question about the most limiting resource facing the company was: Water! That says a lot about where things may be headed in the future and the fact that water is not only important, but critical to many businesses and com- munities emphasizes its importance to us as a department and a land grant institution of higher education. REMINDER: Saturday is our final tailgate of the 2016 football season. It will be held on the South Veranda of the Clayton Williams Alumni Center and will begin around 3:30. We are preparing for more than 600 based on RSVPs and with excellent, cooler weather in the forecast, I expect we will see many more than that. I hope you can join us for the event. Thanks to Candice Foster and Steven Klose who have been working diligently to ensure the success of the tailgates this fall. Their efforts are greatly appreciated. Thanks also to our donors who continue to support these events with funding and in-kind contributions. Today is Veterans Day, so a huge Thank You to all of our veterans and their families on this special day of recognition! Finally, whatever you do, enjoy the weekend and more seasonable weather, AND BTHO Ole Miss!!!!!!
